I use the cafe primarily for its WiFi and for that reason I rated the Starbuck a 2. For some reason, this Starbucks' WiFi truly sucks. It is slow even when there is not a lot of people and some of the pages do not even load. Dana Street Cafe a few blocks down has much better WiFi and their coffee is better. One of the worst Starbucks I've been to. I was there tonight and the baristas were way too busy talking to each other to pay attention to customers. The man taking my order acted if I was some nuisance taking up the time he'd rather spend talking to his coworkers, and he was so busy talking to them he seriously messed up my drink, brought it over and realized it was wrong, and had someone else redo it. It got two stars though because when I was there earlier in the year I was introduced to the special coffees! I don't like leaving "mean" reviews but I hate when people are rude, especially employees to their customers. read more

So disappointed in this Starbucks brand. 1. Drove 2 hours and picked Starbucks as my place to have a beverage and work before my meeting. 2. Service was slow and unfriendly. 3. Internet was slower than service.... and I went up at 11:30 to ask if they could reboot or do something.. The response was cold, nothing we can do and basically go away. Not my problem. 4. Toilet was dirty and hadn't been cleaned... and there was no where to put your laptop and belongings. So not the sbux experience. Need a new team and staff. read more

The employees are the best at this particular Starbucks. The bathroom is gross and stinky. Anyone who reads my reviews know how I feel about stink. And parking is difficult, but that's indicative of how popular everything on Castro Street is. So if you clean the bathroom at least once a month, I'll give you another star. I am a Starburks addict and look for my Starbucks fix wherever I go! I think I've been to virtually at least 60% of them in the bay area! Being a student as well, Starbucks is also my trusty study space deterring me from any off study shenanigans! And so despite the awesome coffee and food consistency, unfortunately the service is not so consistent! I just can't believe how awful some Starbucks service and you would expect more from some higher class areas right e.g. Stanford Shopping Center! But anyway, the customer service at this Starbucks I can firmly say with 100% confidence is the best I've ever experienced not only in the Bay Area but also in terms of my worldwide Starbucks experience! Consistency is the key here. No matter when I go to this location, no matter who is at the cash, no matter who serves me, I always get the same warm, friendly and most importantly sincere customer service at this particular location! Whenever I have any questions, the staff always answers them patiently! I once saw a customer spill a drink and they offered to replace it to her for free! Anyways, in other words, I've probably been there over 100 times and all 100 times have been an excellent experience! 100 out of 100!!! A great little Starbucks, open later than most! Unlike a lot of the Starbucks in the area, this one is open a few hours later! Which is great when just meeting up with friends or hanging out. The staff is great. I have yet to get an incorrect drink here. There is plenty of space, though this is probably one of the busier Starbucks as well (some folks camp out here for quite a while). It is what it is (a corporate coffee shop), and thus you should know what you are going to get when you go there (unless you have been living under a rock). Drinks made fast and correctly on every visit, staff has always been polite, and while it can be loud and busy (once again it is a Starbucks), I have always been able to find a place to chill inside or out and the bathrooms are clean. Which is a big deal to me. I really give it 3.5 stars, it just depends on what kind of mood I am in for my daily habit feed! read more

I usually never go to Starbucks, but I had to do some studying and I was in Mountain View so I thought why not? The people that work here are so nice. The guy behind the counter seemed to know all the customers, and the girls making the coffee were very sweet. I just might have to break my anti-Starbucks routine. I've shied away from it in recent years in favor of tea... i do, however, find myself frequenting this starbucks when i'm in need of somewhere to study, despite the fact that there's a starbucks across the street from my place. why do i come down here, you may ask. it's certainly not for the music, which i find too loud (my own mp3 player drones it out) nor for the drinks (their green tea is mediocre at best). the seating is decent and larger than my neighborhood starbucks. the real reason is that it's on castro... and a short walk away from my favorite restaurants. which means i can bunker down for a good day of studying, then head down castro for some taiwanese comfort food and boba. if i was just interested in the drinks, i'd rather go to tea time in palo alto or far leaves tea in berkeley. read more

Love the staff here, they are exceptional. I don't know what happened to the other two leather chairs; there used to be 4 of them near the windows, now only 2 remain. Not a big deal, still a great place to have a coffee. They now have wireless charging available for mobile devices, which is awesome. Works great. The only bad thing I can say about this place (I really hate to say anything bad about this location...) and reason for 4 stars is that the restroom is pretty bad. It seems to be dirty often and always has a urine smell and reminds me of the parking garage stairwells in The City. Maybe they need to incorporate some ventilation or large doses of Lysol into the cleaning regimen. Other than the stinky restroom, this place is awesome. read more

I don't like Starbucks in general, but this place is close to my home, so I occasionally stop in. The coffee and staff are fine. However, it's always packed with laptop-campers. Hard to find a seat, especially on weekends. When there are empty tables, it's sometimes hard to tell, because trash is sitting there. This says a lot about how busy it gets and even more about what pigs the general populace seems to be becoming. Clean up after yourself, people. This isn't a full-service restaurant. On weekday evenings, during the school year, the place is infested with little flocks of teenagers. Maybe someone should tell them it's not really that cool or interesting to hang out at Starbucks? On second thought, don't tell them... leaves more room for me at Red Rock Coffee down the street. This place is great since it's so close to home. The team there is friendly and quick. It's a bit on the smaller side but still a great place to hang out or study in. This bustling location on Castro has good service. There are two comfy chairs in the window that are almost always occupied and allow you to watch people strolling by. Otherwise, there are several normal tables inside and a few metal tables outside. People are often smoking outside. If you prefer non-Starbucks coffee, Global Blends is just one block up Castro on the same side of the street. Vegan Report: I don't drink coffee. Starbucks is my favorite coffee house chain for getting a hot chocolate with soy milk (no whipped cream). read more

One of the guys made me a special tea concoction one day when I felt a cold coming on and it helped knock it out, fast, which freaking rocked. I'm not a coffee drinker, so can't speak to that, but I'm a sucker for those cool lime refreshers and they always get the ice - water - mix ratio correct. What a disappointment! I used to love this location. Years ago when I worked nearby I came here a lot and it was starkly different. They've changed the seating and now they have hardly any chairs. There was a very comfortable long padded seat along the side window wall and small tables across it, and they've taken that seat which could seat several people. Now there are 3 meager small tables. There used to be a giant round table near the bathroom and that's gone too. They had better arm chairs before as well. The other thing is that now they close earlier! I think they used to close 2 hours later and that's history. This place has lost its character and it's fun attitude as well. It's awful and very disappointing!!! read more

I am not that impressed with this Starbucks. Their espresso is always more bitter than other Starbucks I've tried in the South Bay, and requires a bit more sweetening than other locations. My soy cinnamon dulce latte this morning was especially disappointing, lacking in both the cinnamon and dulce respects. All I taste is burnt coffee, which isn't the kind of occasional morning indulgence that I'm seeking for $5. If this Starbucks wasn't right next to my office, I likely wouldn't come here at all. read more

It's Starbucks- what's to like or hate? Service is fast, the coffee is acceptable if nothing to write home about, and there's a decent amount of seating. This branch is well-decorated, and I particularly like the seats and tables on the far side of the store. It's a nice area to study or get work done. The place DOES get loud though, so bring your headphones if that's what you're coming here for. Most of the staff knows me now as I tend to come in here a lot during the evenings, or when I want a coffee for my drive to the city. On one of my last visits, I had a latté for in-house, and they created a little design in my foam which I thought was a pleasant touch. Not all of the baristas know how to do latté art, but how many people normally have coffee for there anyways? They recently have the new Mastrena Espresso machines which are amazing and solely made for Starbucks. I admit, reluctantly, my coffee still tastes fairly about the same, but I do love the new design. They also now have ATT Wifi. read more

Starbuck's is just down the street from my office. It's convenient and the staff is pretty friendly. The drinks are made consistently. If they screw it up (not often), they fix it quickly.
