The girl that made me coffee did a horrible job. At first, she made the wrong drink. I said I wanted salt foam at the top, but she put it at the bottom and gave me a medium. and when she did it right, the foam spilled and she didn't bother to clean it up. I go here usually to get my coffee, but I am disappointed. She also assumed I didn't know English, so they laughed at me behind my back, assuming I didn't know what they were saying. This place used to be nice and the service was good over 10 years ago. Now, this trainee is so rude to me and the service was not. I bought this drink and other drinks for my daughters for 17.47 + a 4$ tip which made it about $21 in total! Please train your employees to be bettet and mote well-behaved. I would expect a machine to be consistent, but the resulting coffee seems to be consistently varied, and so far consistently bad! So I'm super annoyed, this location used to be my go to 3 nights a week on the way into the hospital. A few weeks ago I ordered on the mobile app and my drink (salted cream cold foam cold brew), was ready when I came in. 3 minutes after ordering.... so speedy points there. But the drink was very light looking. As opposed to the dark coffee. I asked if this was the right drink and the guy had said "well it's been sitting there so sometimes the cream drops."....... there's NO WAY. I drink this drink all the time, and over so many hours, that mixing doesn't happen. Today I went in and order the same drink "salted cream cold foam cold brew."..... I saw the barista pour it of the nitro tap. She handed it to me and I asked if it was nitro. She said "no. Well the nitro only takes the nitrogen off. Our cold brew tap isn't working really well right now."...... wouldn't they have told me this when I ordered? I have tried the nitro before and I didn't like it, so it was really frustrating. There's an actual ad right next to the barista of the differences in the two drinks. I ordered 1 drink, and they made me another without any discussion. She offered to remake the drink, but I was already on a tight schedule. Sad to say I'll be doing mobile orders at a different location now. I love this location. When I order on the app my order is always ready quickly. They are super friendly inside too. I love how long they are open throughout the day. Not many Starbucks locations in this area, but this is one of my favorites. The evening shift baristas are very friendly and I love ordering here through the app since it is always ready on time. Conveniently located next to the Oak Lawn Patriot Metra station, so if you are traveling, use the app to order ahead of time. This is the worst Starbucks that I have ever been to! There service is terrible and they are so slow! I only ordered a coffee with a coffee cake NOT WARMED UP!!!!! Which means I don't have to wait in line for the oven warmer! I purposely didn't want it warmed because I am in a hurry....YET they still tell me to wait to get my cake after everybody else get there cakes! WHY???? Just put it in a bag and give it to me. My medically fragile kiddo has had a rough couple of months. We've spent a lot of time in the hospital with her. Like...a LOT. That being said, my main squeeze and I have taken alternating shifts at Hope to be with our little lady (sometimes in the PICU, sometimes on the regular floor). We also have four other kids at home, so to say a coffee is a NECESSITY on the way back to the house...yeah, that's putting it lightly. While I've never been bowled over by the customer service here, the drinks are solid and the location itself is certainly efficient. And honestly, I'm not even bothered by the ever-so-slight lack of seemingly jovial friendliness. Usually I just want to get my coffee and GTFO, you know what I mean? Anyway, for the sheer proximity to the hospital, this Starbucks is an absolute saving grace when coming/going. read more

It doesn't get anymore convenient than a Starbucks by a Metra station. The only bad part is that you need to cross the tracks to get there and you'll find a herd of ladies running to get to the Starbucks at the first mention of the trail being delayed. It's also across the street from a library so expect a lot of folks talking a break from studying...to study some more with some coffee. Ive been a regular here a long time. Great location however since the remodel the seating is poor, cold and uninviting. Also the service has gone downhill. No employee enthusiasm and everyone always seems lethargic. Ordered a sandwich and sat at a table with only a couple customers. The sandwich was thrown on the counter with barely an audible announcement. How tough would it have been to let me know directly or even bring the damn thing to my table. Not one of the best Starbucks, but with a huge teaching hospital nearby, they just don't have to be. Sometimes the service is good, some of the baristas really couldn't care less. I'm not usually very concerned about my age or looks, I have embraced my inner curmudgeon who has recently become my outward visage, but I was overly sensitive to the passage of time when my father spent a couple of weeks at Christ Hospital for open heart surgery. He was technically dead for 15 seconds, twice. So it was just kind of an added smack in the middle aged face (metaphorical) to have young workers perk up for cheerful flirtatious chat with young good looking customers up in line only to have a clearly less enthusiastic interaction when they finally get to me. No I don't expect flirting, but move the line along when it's long and be at least superficially polite with everyone. I have been to Starbucks where I'm always treated like they are glad to see me and isn't that the real reason we pay $5 for a one dollar cup of coffee? The staff has always been friendly and very good in taking and delivering the order quickly and correctly. However, the inside seating is very limited and is generally all taken by homeless people, also causing the rest rooms to be frequently unavailable. I love this place. It has a urban feel in the suburbs. No drive-thru, that might be a bad thing for some. But the staff is great and it's located in a cool shopping strip with Pizza Studio, potbelly, smashburger. Really nice to read a book in the Huge outdoor seating space. read more
