i went in to get coffee and breakfast during peak their morning rush - there was a back up. I later learned there was a strike taking place within the organization that could have led to the chaos. however, this team went above and beyond to provide great customer service. they were so fast and calm under pressure. I appreciated the attendant at the pick up area who was triaging orders and handling customers as well as the manager who was handling refunds if people could not wait for their orders. This Starbucks is the best of the chain that I've visited so far, and it's all good things to note. DRINKS I haven't had many issues in regards to drinks except that the consistency of some drinks like the white chocolate mocha are a little different each time (sometimes really sweet, sometimes lacking coffee). Other than that, everything I have ordered thus far has been up to par. SERVICE The staff here are absolutely wonderful. July offered 50% off every cold drink on Tuesdays, and I had ordered all three of my drinks at once. The cashier told me that by doing so, I would only get one of the drinks half-off, so he made each drink a separate transaction so that I could get the discount. He didn't have to do that by any means, but he did anyway! Another time I went, I had been waiting on my drink for a bit, and one of the baristas noticed and expedited the process. She was very kind and friendly to everyone who came into the store ("good mornings" go a long way). I have been coming here since 2016 and other than the fact that it's close by, there's no other reason why I ever would. This place is truly one of the most inefficient Starbucks I have ever been to. At one time there could be 6 people behind the counter and they are stepping all over each other, some are just talking to one another, and there's a line of empty cups being stacked up by the one girl at the register. This place needs to either hire a manager to coordinate the personnel behind the counter or they need to stop taking online orders. They are swamped and they have no idea how to properly handle it. Waiting 5 minutes for a drink isn't too much - waiting 15+ min each time you go (and at different times of the day) is a lot. The people are friendly and the store is clean. I normally like this location. But it always seems chaotic to order. Today, the 2 registers were opened but they were confused about who takes what order. The person behind me was annoyed. I didn't care today because it's Saturday and I don't have to be anywhere but can assume this is not good for most people thinking they can be in and out with their coffees. Baristas were fine. Shout out to my local Sarbucks! Stopped by way earlier than I usually do and witnessed what I guessed might be their usual morning mobile order rush. They probably had 30-50 mobile items awaiting pickup and the whole team was killin' it with badass skills keeping up with drop-by orders while having one person right by the mobile order pickup putting drinks and food in certain places so when people walked in he knew right where every drink and food item was with their name on it. Not just me, but multiple people verbally complimented their organization skills and ability to keep up with everything. I'm sure this team was likely super stressed out, and they probably still need more help so they aren't so frantic in the future, but as a customer you blew me away today and I was amazed by your service. This Starbucks is always stuffed full of people. Always. And they seem to come in massive rushes, where there's no line then suddenly the line is nearly to the door. It's odd. The staff here is everything from polite to genuinely happy to see you. The guy and gal in the picture are two who are always genuine and will go out of their way to get an order right or share another smile. Doesn't matter how busy they are. I used to enjoy stopping in here a few times a week on the way to work, but in the last month or so, it's a lot less pleasant than it used to be. Now I pick up a cup from 7-11 down the street. There is apparently new management and everything that made it a nice place to "wake up" to has gone. Just a few months ago, employees were much more cheerful and friendly, but there is a sort of moroseness there now, and my favorite barista apparently quit because the new manager is so unpleasant that he berated her so badly that he brought her to tears in front of everyone. Just looking at his sour expression makes you want to go elsewhere. I talked to a retired neighbor who's been going there daily for years to catch up with friends and he told me the same - they all meet up at the Vienna location now. I'm not sure why this Starbucks felt the need to "fix" whatever they thought was broken, but they've lost my business for good. I heard the old manager moved, but I wish they could lure him back. I'm just glad there's a McDonalds and a 7-11 nearby! read more

Normally I don't post reviews for large chains but--the service at this Starbucks was too good to not post a review. I will now be ordering weekly from this specific location due to the high quality drinks and service. First off-- they always get my name right (small, but big kudos). Secondly, even when I order delivery they are incredibly quick and get the order right exactly. I asked for a warmed muffin and got it exactly how I wanted it. The coffee will still hot upon arrival and the ice had not yet melted in both drinks. I highly recommend the passion tea, especially adding fruit infusions as well as the cold brew coffee. read more

I can for the most part, deal with the yuppies of Oakton. They can be annoying, but part of the area. This is a pretty good location. One thing that helps us having enough parking spots. That's half the battle, and a very nice staff here. They are always welcoming, and do their best to keep things moving. So wish they'd bring the Rift Valley back. I was glad to get a mocha frap today. A tasty treat with a bit of caffeine, topped off with whipped cream. This tends to have a calming effect, although it's not cheap. As the cold moves in, we are closer to the Christmas blend. That's a coffee to have. read more

I stopped in here a couple of days ago - I was in dire need to ingest a dose of my fave liquid crack - something with espresso in it. So I pulled in to this shopping center in Oakton. Remembering that Jade said in her review she has been scarred by this Starbucks, I thought back to the couple of times I had been in before - but I never had a bad drink. Anyway - the Starbucks was gone! And there was a big hole in the shopping center where it used to be. So the shopping center is being renovated and is under construction. I happened to glance to my left - and what do my wandering eyes detect? A brand spanking new liquid drug dispensery clad in all new red brick! Yes! A new Starbucks! It's on the far opposite end of the shopping center from where the old location was. So I went in - ordered my first Autumn/Holiday espresso drink of the year - a Skim Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte, no whip. It was delicious! The place has the usual option for wireless internet access and outdoor seating as well. read more

I come to this particular Starcbucks about 2 times per month on the weekends and attack my Starbucks bucket list, that is to try everything on the entire menu one time. There is one guy that works there on Sunday evenings, I can't recall his name, but he is absolutely AWESOME!! He always helps me as I make a decision to try something new. He suggested I try a coffee made with the Clover machine. He took the time to explain the process and it was a cool experience and told me about new fancy shancy coffees. The other time I wanted an ice coffee and he suggested French Vanilla flavor (hazelnut + vanilla). OMG, it was sooooo delish!! So, because of this one person, its one of my favorite Starbucks! The staff are sweet as pie but move as slow as a sloth! I waited 30 minutes for three drinks. The morning shift always has a ton of young adults behind the counter usually not getting much accomplished. They have no regards for peoples time and don't know how to prioritize task correctly. Instead of trying to reduce the traffic they will stick cups and lids instead of helping one another with food and beverages. It's need to be more structure and team building and less chit chat. This review is on customer service, atmosphere, and the building. Wow. It's rare for me to give 5 stars, but I was very impressed at my visit. Granted, I've only been here once and it was to buy some coffee and cakepops for my coworkers, and I didn't eat or drink anything. If I go back, I will update mu my review. It's located in the shopping center with Giant and CVS. The store is vety clean and spacious, and there is a lot of seating. I went during lunch time (12ish) on a Thursday, and it had some people but there were plenty of places to sit. They also have outdoor seating available. It provides a nice place for an informal business meeting or chatting about work. It's also a nice hangout place to just chill. You can also bring some work and your laptop to get some things done--they provide free wifi. The service is phenomenal. My cashier was Peggy, and she was the amazing. She should set the standard for people dealing with customers. She was upbeat, bubbly, kind, and always had a smile on het face--which put a smile on my face. I had 2 transactions--one to buy a gift card with a credit card and one to buy cake pops with my app. She was very patient and overflowing with kindness. Thanks Peggy! read more

What's with the good reviews? I come here since it is close to my house and it is awful. If the staff was any slower the line would move backwards. I once died of old age, was reborn, grew to adulthood and THEN placed my order. If Superman made the earth rotate backwards the line here would move forward. Fat people come here to lose weight because they miss at least one meal while waiting in their coffee. This place is popular with tree sloths - they like that they don't have to rush. read more

This continues to be worst Starbucks ever. I have lived in Oakton for almost four years, and they've never been fast or great at getting things right. It's frustrating because a lot of the same people have worked there for a long time, but they still haven't figured out how to not keep a line out the door. Also, I noticed a seasonal drink wasn't on the menu anymore at the Spring Hill Road Tysons location and was sorta bummed. The shop is nice but I often get served incorrectly made drinks and the wait is long compared to other locations.

The baristas are incredibly kind and efficient. There is one cashier lady who has worked there for quite a while who still has trouble getting orders right. But the other baristas jump in and do teamwork to get orders out sooner and accurately. The amount of volume this 'Bucks handles is mind-blowing. Sure, they get an order wrong now and then. But it's not the end of the world; and they are kind and fast with the drink coupons appropriately. If you go a bunch, the baristas know your name and start to feel like friends. read more

I visited the store at around 11 am on 2/28/2020. If the guy who took your order asks you, "Are you waiting on something?" when you still haven't got a drink in your hand yet, you must have been waiting for a really long time... I told him I was still waiting for my drink, and he said he will make it for me. He then proceeded to go back to cashier, so thanks for checking up on me (and not doing anything about it). I sat at the bar to see the progress of my delayed drink. The girl who was making drinks looked frazzled and was holding an empty cup while making drinks (how about putting the cup down and work with two hands?). When she finished my drink, she went over to have a minute-long conversation with the cashier... all she needed to do was put the sleeve on and hand the damn drink to me. While all of this was happening, I saw two baristas standing in the back having conversations, and was wondering why they aren't helping speed up the process. Overall, I'm unimpressed with the slow service. I can forgive for the slow service if it was really busy, but there was only 2 people ahead of me and a couple of baristas in the back that were hardly working. read more

But the "store supervisor" handled it all wrong and instead of fixing the problem, chose to escalate it even. I finally understand all the frustration with this company. They're simply not a customer-focused company. Worse, there's a holier than thou attitude afoot. The attitude is as bad as their coffee. They treat customers as their adversaries. Five solid stars for commitment to customer service, great management and friendly staff. Like the song from "Cheers", sometimes you just want to go where everybody knows your name. This store is my new neighborhood Starbucks and I frequent it most mornings and am always greeted with a smile and cheery greeting. Usually there is a long line at the counter, so I started using the order ahead app and picking up at the bar. The system is very efficient and delivers Starbucks standard quality. I am very impressed with the management at this store. Most times the service and quality I receive are spot on. I had a couple instances lately where my drink order was not quite what I ordered (skinny vs sugar free; blueberry oatmeal with no blueberries or toppings). Because this location is so convenient to me, I called to speak with the management and informed Kara of my concern with the mobile app service coordination. Everybody makes mistakes; I wasn't upset but wanted to let her know of the pattern so she could look into it. Kara was very generous and appreciative of the feedback. She was committed to fix the issues and give the best service possible. She expressed that she wanted my business and wanted to provide the best customer experience possible. The next morning, she thanked me for calling and comped my usual order to show her resolve and make the mistake right. I very much appreciate the attitude and commitment to customer service of this store's staff and management. We're all human and no one will get everything 100% right all the time. But commitment to a long term positive customer relationship will continue to bring me back every morning to my neighborhood Starbucks. I will preface this by saying I prefer Caribou Coffee better, but unfortunately Starbucks is more prevalent in the area. One of my biggest complaints about Starbucks is that they only brew the nasty Pike Place Blend after noon. I am not a fan of this practice. I work weird hours and the start of my day may be at 8 PM, not AM. I have shown my disapproval of this by walking out after being told they don't have a bold coffee ready. I'm sure I pissed some "baristas" when I did that, but I don't care. I shouldn't be denied what I want. This Starbucks said they didn't have it ready, but if I wanted to wait, they would make some. Pretty average Starbucks with decent parking in Oakton area. When I have been there re wait is never too long, but I also have not come in during the morning rush. Only issue I've encountered is that when I got an iced coffee, I got a sticker card and my friend did not, which I thought was odd. I work in the same shopping center as this Starbucks. I work on Wednesday's and Thursdays. Every time I go on Wednesday my drink is amazing and always right. The employees are amazing. On Thursdays however there is always this one man that makes my drink and it always turns out horrible!! It seams like he has no idea what he's doing. This has happened at least 3 time to me.
