This is a good Starbucks location off Colonial Drive, right in the Colonial Plaza area. If I remember correctly, the place used to be a Barnie's. However, somebody thought that the Starbucks located inside nearby Barnes and Noble wasn't good enough, so here we are. The baristas work fast and are always nice. Wifi is free. They serve pastries, sandwiches, and bagels behind the counter. They have 2 or 3 daily roasts ready to go. So yes, it's a Starbucks. It's what you want, isn't it? =) Parking is plenty and they have outside seating. We usually bring our corgi with us and sit at one of the tables in front. Fact: I like their Sumatra. Great location for a Starbuck! Whether I'm waiting for my car at Goodyear or stopping for a bite at Too Jay's, I always make a point to grab a tea at this Starbucks. They have a large outdoor patio with umbrella or grab a seat inside. This is a hopping spot for people to grab their coffee and go since the parking is great. The staff is fast and efficient here. Is there anything negative that I can say about this location.... probably not! In the 5 years that I have lived in Orlando, this has always been my go-to Starbucks location. I come here to pop in for a quick pick me up in the morning and I have come here to study or just take a second to relax. The inside is very spacious and they also have a nice section outside with tables and chairs. They have their own section of the plaza for parking and even on their busiest days I have never had trouble finding a spot. Everyone who works at this location has been wonderful and continues to be wonderful. Even though I've never talked to anyone on their staff in regards to anything, but coffee, I'm always said hello to and called by my name. I was between going to this Starbucks or to the drive through on Fern Creek. I came here because it's closer. Terrible decision. I ordered a pink drink with NO ice. Right off the bat they told me they didn't have the dried strawberries for the topping. Whatever. I paid and I waited. About 3 minutes later they called me and asked me to insert the card again because payment didn't go through. I did it. Bring a jacket when you come because it is super cold inside. Seldom do I buy any coffee drinks here. When I do come in, it is usually to buy a pound of Starbucks Yukon Blend. Which I have been drinking since the first time I entered a Starbucks in Tacoma, Washington during the early 1990's. This location was once a Barnie's Coffees. Although a Starbucks, they have kept the outside patio seating. Which is wonderful on those cool winter nights of which are few. The outside patio area is always kept clean, and the interior is always spotless. Although there is a Starbucks in the nearby Barnes and Noble, this place gets a lot of business. So be prepared to stand in line. Service is always fast and friendly, so the wait is not that long. I could not imagine how busy this place would be if it had a drive thru. The only problem I have with this location is the parking. Located in the Colonial Plaza Marketplace, driving through the parking lot to get here can be a hassle. There are cars going in every direction, which makes driving here quite maddening at times. As for purchasing coffee by the bag. Starbucks coffee is sold whole bean. But the baristas will be happy to grind it for you. And they can grind it to the make of your coffee maker. Which is nice if you need to have your coffee grind coarse for a French press coffee maker. When I do buy coffee here, I always get the latte. Never had a bad latte here. Or at any other Starbucks, for that matter. And they next time I am in here, I may have to get one of those pastries to go with my latte. read more

This is the stop for my wife and me whenever our daughter has Bell Choir rehearsal prior to the first church service. We just head down Peel to Primrose to the Colonial Plaza Shoppes! My wife and I ordered our regular drinks, a Grande Mocha and a Vente half-caff Latte Macchiatto with two pumps Cinnamon Dulce, one Splenda; and, Cinnamon Dulce Sprinkles. The coffees were made fresh, delivered quickly; and, were perfect in taste, texture, and temperature! We snagged a couple of seats where we thought we'd be out of the rising sun; but, that proved fruitless. Great location, great service, great people. read more

I just recently adopted a gluten free diet which happens to be very restrictive. I went to Starbucks to have a "treat" on a Wednesday. I went into the store and asked the "baristas" what gluten free beverages they had to which they replied "none". Totally bummed out by this I got a tall cappuccino and called it a day. First off not only was my cappuccino really a latte and the barista that steamed that foam burnt the milk. But I then got online and found several websites that listed multiple Starbucks beverages that are safe for people with gluten sensitivities. As a past barista it is incredible to me how uninformed the employees were and how bad the quality of my simple cappuccino was. Definitely won't be going back to this location. read more

Best Starbucks on the planet. I come here every day unless I am on vacation. I will actually go out of my way to come to this Starbucks vs another one. The baristas are very friendly and manage the long line expeditiously without batting an eye. The manager Nic is great and always professional. Whenever I can steal a moment to myself I try to stay and do some people watching while reading or knitting. Their coffee is consistent and even if you're one of those people that order a skinny, two pump, upside down, steamed to 180, no whip, something or other they will execute it perfectly. read more

The line here is always long (even though there's another Starbucks less than a mile away), but the employees seem to have a good system of managing the lines better than some of the other busy locations in the area. This Starbucks is always packed. The people who work here are nice. There is a decent amount of space and people are willing to sit in any available seat. Personally it just always feels to packed to stay in here and the coffee is not as strong as I like it. I am a Cuban coffee drinker and like my space so I usually brew at home and chill on my patio. We ordered 1 cheddar and egg and 1 scone and 2 iced waters. They didn't want to give us ice waters and when we asked the barista Keith he just said just a moment as if to brush us off. We stood there for 10 minutes while everyone around got drinks. There were not a lot off people there and we are customers.
