I work in the runway plaza and wanted to order with my friend. Waited over 30 minutes to get part of my order. Cashier was absolutely rude thank you for the horrible service Denay who wiped her name tag off that was lovely. A second barista said they would help us with the order but he was as helpful as Denay was polite which was not at all :) finally a third barista said our order got lost and put in a new sandwich for us after about 30 minutes running time. I'm a Starbucks regular and this location is as good as it gets. The baristas are very nice, the wifi is fast (which fast wifi is hard to find in a Starbucks BTW), and the winner is the ambiance. I ordered two coffees today, one iced one hot, I was walking with my dog so I asked for a stop for the hot coffee, the Starbucks employee told me there weren't any, so I asked for another lid for the hot drink, she got a little attitude and tossed the lid on the top of my drink. This isn't my first experience with this woman, I also work in customer service and I know that not everyday is a good day, but I don't take it out on my guests. Busy location it's a very popular Starbucks. My only complaint is how busy it is sometimes and hard to park. Bring your laptop get some work done while sipping a latte, do some people watching or enjoy the buzzing view of busy Jefferson and Playa. The way they treat their employees is extremely concerning... The managers treat their workers like crap in front of myself and other customers. It makes me feel VERY uncomfortable. This is clearly a hostile working environment and not only do I see the yelling and snarky remarks exchanged by the managers AND people working behind the counter... but I see micro aggressions take place on a daily basis whenever I visit. I've seen two employees yelled at inappropriately and shamed in front of everyone... they were almost in tears. The managers are really mean and their aggressive behavior is abusive and disturbing. I also see some of the baristas bully their coworkers. It's really sad to see this every single day. This is not how Starbucks is supposed to look. There needs to be some serious training here... Learn how to handle your people with grace and compassion. This place is toxic right now and needs some serious TLC. read more

Oscar is a real leader and makes you feel like this is your neighborhood spot to go to. He not only makes the best drinks but is constantly training all the new baristas that come and start at this location. This is a very popular Starbucks, as it's right in the heart of Playa Vista. We live right down the street from this location, however we try to only go here early in the morning on weekends. If you can get here before 8:30am-ish on Saturday/Sunday, you're typically in and out in a few minutes. Any time after that and you're in for a wait. Overall though, the staff is friendly and do their best to get people in and out. Seating can be difficult, however they do have a decent amount of indoor & outdoor seating. Their downfall can be staffing, from time to time. During peak hours, I feel like they should have more people working, considering they know how busy it gets. But, even with this, they do a decent job of keeping up with orders. read more

People are nice and it s a great spot to hang out; but this is one of the worse Starbucks when it comes to the coffee/latte itself. Not that it is bad; but it s how they try to cut on the coffee. We are all familiar with a lot of ice with the iced latte and all is good, because at the end, it still taste good (IMHO) but with the hot latte this location took it to another level. We tested it multiple time with friend, and it s an easy test; order a grande or a venti of any latte you like. And look how they do it; especially if you are there on Saturday or Sunday (some barista don't do that during the week) - the venti latte is about 80% tap water (hot tap water) it is ridiculous. Ordering a tall you would get actually more for your bucks. Before you judge this review; yes they do use a lot of water but this specific location (on venti especially) the amount is ridiculous; and it s not always the case. I just went there (for the last time) and took again a venti chai latte this Saturday. I saw once again the extreme water/latte ratio. I went home and put it in a glass. The latte is almost transparent (check photos). If you have to go to this location; never order a venti, order a tall in a venti cup. And fill it with milk. But best is to avoid that place. I usually dislike Starbucks and always prefer CB...after today I reaffirm my preference... As I don't know the menu by memory, and it has been taken off behind the register, I asked the cashier what kind of Lattes they had. NOT EVERYONE IS A STARBUCKS AFICIONADO, hence not everyone will know your menu by memory. He refused to give me an answer. He proceeded to tell me that they a)they have no menu anywhere in the store, and b) he cannot tell me what they have because it's impossible, there are over 100 combinations of drinks so he cant stand there and recite them all to me. He kept insisting to just tell him what I wanted/was in the mood for...HOW WILL I TELL YOU IF I DON'T KNWO WHAT YOU HAVE/YOUR INGREDIENTS??? That's your job, I thought...After that moment of rudeness he no longer had my attention and was no longer acknowledged, so I turned and spoke to the other barista for info which she was willing to at least politely attempt to answer... It was such a dumbfounding shocker to ask "WHAT KIND OF LATTES DO YOU MAKE", that the manager had to come out & check on the commotion. Very impressive! No longer struggling to find parking at Jefferson or Fiji locations. This is exactly what is needed to Playa Vista. There is more than enough parking and it is conveniently located across from Whole Foods (and several new restaurants to open soon). Upon walking in the decor is modern and rustic. Very clean and positive atmosphere. The baristas were very welcoming and quick. It looks like a really nice place to study and work as I saw several other customers enjoying the day. The most beautiful Starbucks I've ever seen. This is brand new, sleek, and acoss from whole foods. The servers are great too! They are all smiles and "welcome"... I felt like so comfortable here! All Starbucks' start with 2 stars because the coffee is awful and anything sold there overpriced. After that, it's a question if the layout and the staff can haul it up. This one is a great place. They have plenty of smaller tables and space to work out of, which is basically what Starbucks is for. The place is really nicely broken up into sections; I especially like the wall that has been setup by the window tables to offer a bit more privacy for the people who sit on there. It's things like that, plus the amiable staff, that make or break a Starbucks for me and this one has what it takes. This Starbucks is in a great location - it's smack in the middle of a slew of apartment homes and right next to Whole Foods and a gelato/frozen yogurt shop. The place is never extremely busy, and if there is a line, it moves fast. There is a parking structure right behind Whole Foods and the Starbucks that offers plenty of parking spaces and also parking on the streets, if you can find a spot. I don't usually order specialty drinks so my orders are processed fairly quickly and they're always correct. I wish they had Blonde Roast on tap, so they have to do a pour over, which is a bummer. The food items are stocked fairly well, but I find that at this location, as well as at most Starbucks locations, they tend to run out of things pretty quickly. The employees, for the most part, are very friendly and pleasant - there is a guy that works there who brings it up to the next level with his friendliness and eagerness to help and I always know that if he helps with my order, it will be a good experience. I've only run into one employee (this week actually) that was so unpleasant, she didn't know if they had product in the store or not, there was no "what can I get for you, can I help you", no "thank you," there was no pleasantness, nada. When she put my hot food order on the bar, she didn't even call out my name - just threw it on the bar and walked away (and no, I wasn't the only one waiting on food). Honestly, why even work there? You're serving coffee and pastries, no one is asking you to go and repaint the Sistine Chapel! These days it's all about customer service, and if you don't have at least good customer service, you will lose patrons. read more

I hate this Starbucks! Every time I come to this location (Playa Vista), the staff is always rude. First issue, I placed a mobile order for my breakfast sandwhich. When I picked it up and asked for a cup of water, the staff member said I should order cup of water at cash register...really! Why does one even have to say that...what is the big deal other than I think just not run well at this location Second issue, on return of the same Starbucks within the hour and asked for a refill of coffee, of course the cashier (Tony) said I can only do a refill if ordered within an hour. This morning I walked in to have my regular Starbucks Drink, nothing out of the ordinary but I must say when I received the drink I was extremely disappointed. I don't think of playa vista as a bad or troubled spot but some guy randomly stole my drink right in front of me. But to me this guy looked perfect fine, he even had those Yeezy slides on, and it's funny how he couldn't even spend an extra 5 dollars to buy another pink drink. Of course moving on to my drink the crew remade my drink but it was halfway filled I payed for a venti and it was filled as if it were an grande. Not even that it only had one or two strawberries and didn't even have the dragonfruit I payed for. I always check my receipts and it showed me that I payed for extra fruit. The pink drink wasn't even good either it wasn't sweet at all nor did it have fruit. So of course I went to go to the counter to ask for a little extra fruit and they made me pay not only that I decided to order another pink drink, while they called my name to pick up my order and it was a cup of fruit in water. I wasn't in the mood to argue or tell them anything but the fact that this Starbucks thinks it's ok to still my money for what I didn't order is horrible. I hate this Starbucks because I always smell like cigarettes when I leave there. I don't smoke. The smell gets in my hair and gets on my clothes and most recently it is in my mask. I would rather not smell like cigarettes when all I want is a Starbucks drink. It must be something in their store's air system which concerns me. The air is not clean inside the store. I received the most awful service this morning by a highly disengaged woman named Angela. The irony is that I usually receive great service here. As I walk in and am waiting at the register, she's stocking the snacks on the same side that I'm on and talking to her colleagues on the other side, none of whom acknowledge my presence. She slowly walks to the other side, and in an annoyed tone asks 'can I help you'. I order my bagel, and again in an annoyed tone says 'what else' She takes my money, gives me my change and turns away to talk to her co workers. I respond over the counter 'thank you', implying that she could have said that. She looked at me surprised, then turns back to her friends to have a laugh. I asked her for my money back and kindly suggested that she work on her customer service skills. She responds with 'nah, I'm usually good, I'm just in pain today. Have a nice day' I would have been okay with that, however as I walked out the door and looked back, she's laughing with her co workers. I'm baffled that in a rich community such as Playa Vista that Starbucks is unable to raise the bar on service. I walked over to the Coffee Bean and told them of this experience, and they scolded me for not coming to them first. read more
