I wish I enjoyed the coffee as much as I enjoyed the vibe. Joliet Restaurant and Bar tucked away in a building that also houses a few salons, an ice cream shop and a couple of restaurants. It has an industrial feel but is also warm and welcoming. I'll come back and maybe try a different drink but I'm 100% planning on checking out the hidden speakeasy in back.

Super cute place!! Hubby and I were in the area and decided to grab a bevi. I loved the vibe and the mysterious back room area. It was all decorated for Halloween with super cute themed drinks. We sat at the bar and shared a cocktail and dessert. The bartender was super nice and was quick. I will definitely come back to try their food.

I'm updating my review for this place due to a very poor customer service experience I had. It was several months back when I came in on my way to work to order a latte, most likely the Spanish Latte because that's what I always got. There was only one guy working (he's taken my order in the past) and he was preparing sandwiches. I stood at the counter for a few minutes without being acknowledged even though he glanced at me once. When he finally acknowledged me he said, "We're not open yet." I asked what time they open and he said 8:00. I told him it was 8:05. He looked at the sandwiches he was preparing, then frustrated, he looked at me with the expression that he was too busy to officially open the store and take my order. It was now 8:07. The employee literally let me walk away not taking my order and saying nothing. He spotted me walking by weeks later and had the look of guilt but too much pride (or perhaps prejudice) to apologize for the incident. I didn't update my review sooner because I was hoping I'd get over what happened and return. I liked this place and stopping by for coffee was convenient given I live "in the neighborhood". But the reality is that the experience kind of stung and left me with no desire to return. Even though I'm at The Free Market where Joliet is located daily, I haven't been back and I don't feel the experience warrants my previous 5 Star review. Do better, and be mindful to treat ALL of your customers with kindness.

I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the lobster roll was. I liked the speakeasy style of the restaurant. Their chicken piccata was also very delicious. Service was good.

Took a class with Dancer University and meeting Gero Y Migle. I had to leave early but i had a decent time with the establishment. The Restaurant purposely designated an area for the dance workshop. and when you walk in, you had a chance to grab some food and drinks. 5 stars.

We ordered Hearty Grilled Chicken Club and Tuna Salad Sandwich to go the day after the Christmas. Both of them were excellent and I prefer the tuna sandwich slightly better because of its refreshing taste and great combo with the cheese and dressing. The chicken sandwich is also great if you want a slightly hearty option with stronger and smokier flavor

This is hands down one of my favorite local spots. The ambiance is so cool. The vibes are laid back maximalism decor with a twist of funky and eclectic. It makes me feel like i'm back in the 70's at a speakeasy. its just fabulous. The service is good and the food is delicious. One of the best Whiskey sours in town in my opinion, and thats my signature drink. I love the the energy and vibes of this place. They have excellent tacos on Tuesday's and Thursday's but besides that all the food there is delicious. You will be glad you went. For a chill vibe, good music, good, drinks, and service, you get all that and then some.

Such a wonderful team over at Joliet! I love all of the events they host and support. They bring so much to the Playa community and were first to answer the call when I needed food sponsors for a school fundraiser I was helping to organize. And most importantly, their food and drinks are fantastic. They have a ton of fun and unique specialty lattes, their pastries are so delicious, and they make the most incredible sandwiches (and sandwich platters). Love supporting a great local business that supports their community right back. You can stop by their cute cafe at Runway, order catering from them, or go to one of their many upcoming events!

About 15 of us millennials rolled into Joliet for a lovely Saturday brunch. Super cute setup. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There's seating around the counter or inside the tiki bar area. Plus, lots of parking in the garage across the street. Considering majority of the food is prepared in advance (including the huge burritos), it was surprisingly delicious! I added a side of avocado to my burrito, highly recommend. Perfect spot to grab a sandwich and coffee on the go, especially if you're checking out the Playa Vista shops and park.

I have been to the Joliet Coffee bar inside the FreeMarket a few times. The coffee is wonderful... and the pasties I've tried have been very french... excellent... This last visit, I tried one of the Pastrami sandwiches. It was excellent. I also had the Spanish Latte... not too sweet, focus was on the espresso, and flavors were spot on. The coolest part is its really 3 different venues... open til 2pm, the coffee bar is slinging mad espressos and tasty sandwiches and patries... at 5pm... the sorta speakeasy restaurant and bar opens up... and outside, they have a little trailer, that is like a pop up wine, coffee and tea bar with patio seating... I definitely recommend Joliet for great coffee and food. I haven't not tried a cocktail yet, but thats next on my list of things to do.

Cute speakeasy with good (strong) drinks and fun live music. Bartender was super friendly! Drinks aren't cheap, but pricing's on par with general LA bar prices.

Yes! We can whip up a mocktail of your choosing, without alcohol.

The location has a spacious area filled with a variety of wine options. I picked a Bourgogne Chardonnay from France ($36). We came on a late Monday afternoon and, lucky for us, they have a bar special on Mondays: No corkage fee! They also have Happy Hour-- Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. The Chardonnay was divine! I would totally return and purchase another bottle. We also ordered a charcuterie board and took advantage of their happy hour special for $20 (pick two-- one cheese and one meat). We opted for the 'Humboldt Fog' Chèvre as our cheese option and the Bresaola for our meat option. Both were delicious, but the chèvre was truly exquisite. We shared one charcuterie board with five people and it was enough; however if you're on the hungry side, I suggest two charcuterie boards for five or six people. In addition to meat and cheese, it comes with crackers, some pickled veggies, onion jam, candied nuts, whole grain Dijon, and apple slices. On the left side of the venue you have your variety of wine options; on the right side, there's the bar and some tables, plus a small area with other snacks for purchase that pair nicely with wine or beer. They even sell the Torres truffle chips! My only complaint is the service, unfortunately. The lady at the cashier was super friendly, however the bar tender was not so welcoming. When he came over to our table to open our wine bottle, he didn't greet us, smile, or say anything. He took our bottle and opened it and then asked who was going to taste. Not sure if he thought we didn't speak English since we were speaking another language when he came to our table, but overall, we all noticed his attitude and thought it was rather unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I rate this place a 4/5, however, everything else was great!

We sat at a high table by the window and the kind young bartender took our drink and food orders. We had arrived in time for happy hour, so we chose the charcuterie board and two orders of the salmon sliders, both reasonably priced at $9.50 each. The sliders were spicy and delicious. The charcuterie board was not as impressive. It didn't seem particularly fresh; the grapes especially were a bit wrinkly and sad. We could also have done with a few more pieces of toast to go with the pieces of smoked Gouda and Brie, and the couple slices of salami and prosciutto. There were also a few dates and dried apricots on the board. Well, whatta ya want for $9.50 in L.A., I guess...
