I walked in as the second person in line, yet after the first customer was served, I was completely ignored. The staff continued chatting and serving others while I stood there without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment. No one should ever be made to feel invisible or unwelcome. What happened to beloved Peets?! You've gone full automatic like Starbucks?! Not only that, you have coffee beans dated MAY on your shelves (I wanted to buy some, that didn't happen). Mr. Peet must be rolling in his grave. Let's talk about service, generally it was fine today, just not able to answer questions: I got a matcha, it was passed over and I immediately knew it was half foam, so I said "this feels like a cappuccino, can you please fix this?" Three barista just stopped and stared at me, took it back to add milk, to which I wanted to confirm it's oat. They handed it back and I took a sip. I asked if they used vanilla, they said yes. I asked "why does this taste like fruit?" To which they just said, "I don't know." I don't know? That's it? What was I given to drink?! Why does your matcha, your oat milk, or your vanilla taste like FRUIT. I wanted to leave and immediately throw the bev away, instead I'm forcing myself to not waste more money and try to consume this odd drink. Last time I came, which was months ago, I was disappointed in the drink preparation. The girl forgot to put vanilla, and when I asked, she gave attitude right away but said she'd add some. She didn't, she just stirred and gave the latte back. Nothing worse than a barista making you feel like you're stupid and a burden. I walked out and just threw my drink away in the front trash can. I vowed to never come back after that experience, but here I was trying to give it another go. I don't know who I'm more disappointed in, Peets loss of craft or myself for coming and leaving this sad review. Never again. read more

Where did I go, first thing after landing back in Los Angeles? In N Out! Where did I go next? Of course, I had to come to Peet's! I was missing their Havana cappuccino, and now I had the chance to enjoy one again. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, it is much like an iced latte, except that it also has condensed milk and cold foam. It makes for a delicious elixir. This store is located in a mid-sized shopping plaza in the Marina Del Rey area. The other patrons were cool locals, and the baristas here were friendly and efficient in their service. We were please with our drinks, and I was as glad to have this capuccino again as I was glad to be back on southern California. If you haven't tried them yet, give em a shot! read more

Most coffee sold here is over 3 to 4 months old. The store is messy, filthy and disgusting. Staff used to be friendly pre -pandemic, now , forget it. Everyone working here is rude and unfriendly. The chairs and tables outside have not been wiped clean for months. Pay a visit to the restroom and you'll think you are in a bathroom on Venice boardwalk. Peet's no longer allows the purchase of 1/2 pound coffee beans and lastly the MDR location now has paper straws only which are terrible and they still don't have iced drink lids that don't require a straw. I love Peet's and this one is right by my parents' house, which is super convenient. It's also very close to the nearby park, which has made for many a lovely afternoon. The quality of drinks & food is consistently great and the staff are lovely. This place also kept me going during the earliest stages of the pandemic, and I love returning. Honestly, I wanna give this Peets and Peet's as a whole 10 stars. It's March 22, 2020...Corona days as well remember. I've gone to Starbucks daily for the most part for almost 20 years. In this crisis today, Starbucks turned their backs on employees in need, ones I've know as wonderful baristas for some time and heard their stories. I also feel like they closed all their local stores because it cost a little less to close it completely, than to keep it open to and for the neighborhood. They'll claim it's for health and safety reasons, but I'll bet a cup of coffee it's dollar reasons. Enough about Starbucks, and on to Peets. Despite severe challenges both operationally and financially to run a store on this very day, Peets did what it takes to serve the community and support their staff. Free meals for staff, shifts available for them to work, and doing it all to serve you and me a cup of joe which for me has become a source of comfort. And I gotta say, the espresso is superior in flavor and body. It may cost me a couple extra bucks a day to choose Peets, but from here forward, Peets...you're my new spot. PS...your staff today is incredible. They're warm, happy to serve, grateful to be there, proud to work for Peets, and willing to work with and adjust to extreme new protocols (which by the way were great and as safe as I've seen yet). I just can't say enough about my experience today and that's obvious as this is the longest story book of a review that I've ever left on yelp. THANK YOU PEETS I commend you and your staff. Hmm... Not happy with my last visit. I came in with my laptop to spend an hour or so but there were very few tables (5 only: 4 2-top and 1 4-top) and all were taken. There were 3 guys standing by the counter chatting away and I wasn't sure if they were actually in line or just talking in the middle of the store. When I asked politely if they are in line, this one guy turned around and rudely said "YEAH". Ugh... come down your high horses, pal! Oh and that same guy asked at the pastries displays what a Kouigh Aman is. I had to stop from bursting into a laugh. How clueless on top of being a not so nice person. I ordered my caramel macchiato. However the guy who took my order walked away to the other end of the counter and started making drinks. I thought oh he's efficient. Actually from it. When another gal showed up behind the counter, he tossed me off to her and I had to repeat my order to her again. When I finally got my drink, I couldn't wait to get out of there. After dealing with rude patrons and couldn't care less staff treatment, imagine my despair when I took a sip of my Caramel Macchiato and it tasted completely burnt. Yikes! By then I was already driving off and I simply had no desire to deal with any more of this after a long day and fighting a cold. I had to toss the drink away. And paid for another well made and tasty hot macchiato at my other favorite coffee shop. This experience completely shocked me 'coz I had stellar service before. I had assumed Peet's was closed because the location in Westwood Village was. But my favorite Peet's was still open and brewing up the best! Open for mobile orders as well as door orders. They put a table at the entrance so you cannot go in; instead, make your order at the door and be mindful of distancing. They even have hand sanitizer available to the customers! I would prefer to do a mobile order, but my app refuses to complete a transaction ::shoulder shrug:: No matter, the manager Peter, took my order and Dan the super barista always makes whatever I order better than I believe it should be!! =D . Fast and friendly service is still happening at Peet's, in spite of all the social distancing. I'm a big fan of this Peet's. Their mobile order system is very good and organized. If I'm running out the door late in the mornings and can only spare 5 minutes to grab a drink on the way I think they are much more efficient at always having drinks ready rapidly and nicely displayed for pickup showing all my exact customizations on the cup. Also out of all pumpkin spice lattes I've tried from various coffee places, I really do think they make the best one! Really rich in flavor and not overly sweet. So dirty in there. On the scale of dirtiness from 1 to 10, its 7,5!!! Dusty and filthy. I don't know why they can't clean up. Manager doesn't do his/her job! This used to be my FAVORITE PLACE. So loyal - I would come M-F every week and often on weekends. I've even had plenty of two-trip days lol. Amazing baristas that were not only super friendly and cool, but were so good! They always swirled the caramel with the espresso, put foam on the ice lattes, and they never got espresso in the lattes - so flat and flavorless btw. (those baristas are literally all gone - run out by shitty management or better opportunities or healthier work environments). It's probably been months since I've had a decent latte from this location which is really bizarre as they used to be SO consistent. Worst yet? They've raised their prices in the last year only to make much shittier coffee. Maybe it'll end up like the rest of the businesses in this little strip mall - permanently closed. What's good is that the coffee and service are great, as to be expected of the Peet tradition. What isn't so good? The store is in a small complex (Marina Square) with an extremely cramped traffic jammy parking area. Sixty minutes maximum-- if you can even find an available spot. There are surprisingly very few tables inside. More seating would help. Space seems wasted. Here is not a coffee house to camp for awhile; forget about doing work or spending more than maybe half an hour. Also, traffic around Mindanao and Lincoln etc. is terrible and annoying.. the signals take forevvver to change. I'm bummed that I don't care for the set-up and particular location of this Peet's, because I do like the over-all area. It's more of a quick hit, grab stuff to-go and drive somewhere else more relaxing with better ambiance to enjoy your java. read more

Popped in to pick up a green tea before going to court. Line out the door for coffee and breakfast but I would have to say this place has the best customer service. The staff is quick and very hospitable. The lady at the counter that day apologized for the wait and thanked me for my patience as well as gave me my drink one minute after paying.
