I have never felt the need to write a review about my local Starbucks but after yesterday the crew working deserves a shout out. There was no line in the drive thru so I know no one wants to work lol. I pulled up to a very cheerful voice asking for my order. I ordered multiple drinks, hot, iced and even blended ones. All through the interaction there was smiles, friendly chats with the 4 staff that happened to be working, they made me feel so good, even though I had them working since it was just me. I even asked for their names because I usually go to the Mccoy Starbucks and have never been treated with such kindness their. So Matt,Jenny,Citlali& Lady. Hope I remembered them correctly. When a staff member finally acknowledge us, all he had to say was, "we're closed." The staff could have easily greeted us upon entering with a hi, sorry the lobby is closed. I ordered a grande. But since they were out of Grande cups, the gave me venti....with the same amount of espresso shots as a Grande and then filled up the rest of the venti cup with the milk. So I'm basically drinking sugared milk. The girl at the window tried telling me there was more coffee than milk. If that was the case my drink would of had some coffee color to it. This was my first time at this Starbucks on Stowell and Broadway. It's located in the big shopping plaza right there. It's not a huge location compared to the others in town but there's a drive thru here too as well. Bryce took my order and was very friendly. Nothing out of the ordinary here to report. Be sure to use your app to order in advance so you can pick up your drink when you get there. It was a hot day and I asked for some iced water and they were nice enough to accommodate me and cool me down. Parking: lots of spots out in front. The lady said no and offered to make me some pour overs. I waited for my coffees (which came out at diff. times). Once i got to the office, i was disappointed. I am familiar with the taste of sbux blond toast because its my go to there. This did not taste like it. It was super strong and bitter. I came into the store around 545pm to order 2 venti speciality drinks and a couple of sandwiches and the sandwich double smoked ham and cheddar and another item which exceeded $23 was cold and not at the correct temperature. I questioned the girl about the temperature of the sandwich and she told me that she couldn't do anything about it. I asked her if she could reheat it and she said no. Now I'm several miles away heading for a two hour trip and I feel like I never want to visit this place again. We're used to the baristas at Starbucks being upbeat and energetic, even early in the morning. We visited this location probably about 4-5 times during a business trip to Santa Maria. The team here did not disappoint. Although the drive-thru line seemed long, I don't think it took more than 5 minutes on any of the visits. Something to be expected during these Covid times. Im really over this Starbucks. Out of all the ones in town this one is by far the worst customer service, slow service, and their cold teas are always watered down. I've tried to go back and give them another try several times because it's the closest to my house however not anymore when each time is a bad experience. I'd understand if it's slow because it's busy but at least acknowledge the customers waiting and don't ignore while you talk to your co workers and stand there. I get waiting when it's busy but not when its empty. Or ordering a drink on line and getting in the drivethru to pick it up and then they get mad at you for being a minute early to pick it up. This is mine and my Best Friends go to Starbucks, im talking religiously every lunch we go and pick up our drinks mocha frap and strawberry refresher. Well today they price was different (.60 more) and the barista "Lizzy" said they had to charge for the heavy cream :O what?! Never in the past 6 months have they charged for the change in my drink in fact NO OTHER Starbucks in town upcharges for the heavy crème. Lizzy was very short and impatient in her transaction and REALLY left a bad taste in our mouths....she explained that she was the manager and that is how corporate indicates the charge should be and that she will make sure her employees know to upcharge from now on.
