Came here for a short break in early afternoon on a Sunday. The staff are friendly, and the environment is spacious and clean. It's a great place for connecting to wifi and work a little. Service - The light-skin girl with the glasses on drive- thru seemed like she was kinda asking what else while I ordered one sandwich then deciding another as in let's quickly get through this because she had better things to do! I pull up and BOOM bag is put in my face. I take it then my drink BAM in my face so I take it...then I pull my card and turn BANG she had pay device for my card like almost inside my car. I frown and pay and she says "OKAY" and I tell HER to have a great day. No response. I've never had such a bizarre experience at a Starbucks. The barista with the oversized face mask was incredibly rude--easily one of the worst interactions I've ever had at a coffee shop. I was literally told I was "ordering my drink wrong" and needed to ask for it "a different way." What? I've been ordering the same drink for years with no issue. Today I paid $7 for oat milk when my drink was supposed to be a Chai with oat milk. First off I had to ask the barista to fill my drink to top of the cup because it was a half inch short then there was no Chai flavor at all, which obviously I was shorted Chai pumps. This industrial zone Starbucks is officially the closest stand-alone store to the nearby SBX corporate HQ on First Avenue South. It's a pretty small store, with limited parking (mostly on the street), and while spacious inside it lacks much seating. What seating it does have is usually full. So, while the staff is friendly and the drinks are good, it's hard to really get much work done here unless you happen to arrive when there's a table free. I have been coming to this location of Starbucks for the past week. I usually order sausage and egg sandwich and my drink. Every time I asked pepper the girl barista always tell me they are out of pepper but in few mins later I asked a guy barista he would go inside to grab some for me. Possibly my most "interesting" interaction with a Starbucks partner. Our conversation started off normal, the girl running the register seemed like your typical barista you always see in Starbucks. She asked me for my name and then with a snark on her face and in her voice she asked me "Is that T-E or T-H?" Her body language and tone of voice really had me taken back; it was borderline aggressive. I answered her question and sat down near the bar. At no time did she offer me a receipt, which I wanted, but based on her attitude I decided it wasn't worth asking for. After receiving my drink I sat back down near the bar to get my relaxation on. My iced tea was alright. Not quite sure what they did differently, but it wasn't the same taste I experience at other Starbucks. I had had my fill of Starbucks time after about an hour and was ready to depart when another customer went up to the bar to ask where his drink was. The woman who had served me at the register gave him the same snarky tone and body language when she informed him that she had called it out "2 or 3 times" and he failed to pick up his drink. I had been sitting there the entire time and her statement was absolutely a lie. She called that drink out a grand total of 0 times...and then proceeded to blame the customer when he simply inquired about where his $5 latte was. Wow! Second, whatever happened to " the most important customer is the one in front of you"? I'm giving this Starbucks 5 Stars because of their customer service! Starbucks is usually pretty consistent across the board in Seattle with their products but customer service always ranges. I stop through this drive through almost everyday on my way to work and the employees are always friendly, attentive and offer great recommendations to my everyday favorites. For example, I always get a bacon Gouda sandwich and they gave me a packet of Siracha to try with it and I was obsessed! But the real reason for 5 stars... I left an $1800 handbag on a chair in there and one of their employees quickly grabbed the bag and put it in the back in a safe area. I didn't notice for several hours and when I called, they assured me it was safe. I came back into the store and my identity was verified and my bag was returned... UNTOUCHED. Woo Hoo! First reviewer for my favorite Starbucks near work. The baristas here are always attentive and friendly. They get to know the drinks of regulars and are always helpful in designing and creating the perfect drink for their customers. For a really busy store, they seem to have it all together... and if something goes wrong, like you waited too long or your drink isn't how you like it, they're always happy to make it up to you. I've seen their customer service at work. I'm sure it helps that they are so close to the Starbucks Support Center and that the "higher ups" from Starbucks Corporate frequent this establishment. Parking can be challenging as the buildings nearby have lots of employees all competing for parking. There is a small parking lot and some parking on 1st avenue, but head through the drive through if you can't park your car. Some outdoor seating can be enjoyed on a sunny day, while there is both comfy and practical seating inside. Baristas come by regularly with samples. Take them up on the offer, give it a try. During the weekday, it's pretty busy with folks form the businesses near by taking a break or having a meeting over coffee. A coworker and I used to go in to brainstorm and share a Sunani french press that the baristas will put together for us with a small timer. Clean, friendly, warm, welcoming and professional. For a regular smallish size choc cookies, they wanted. $2.50 or more... HORRIBLE !! Staff was pleasant tho appeared way-over worked.... Appears to me senior/corporate management is now more concerned about its stock price, and not quality for the customer. SBUX is at a 3 year high price... currently $75 vs high of near $125.... I think maybe its true price is closer to the $15-$20 where the price was for its first 20-years.... I'll do locally smaller owned unless there's not other choice. SBUX and other large companies need to stiff it to WallStreet, refocus on CUSTOMERS, VALUE and if the price declines so be-it. I work right next door and frequent this place. I mainly don't purchase coffee anymore, but the staff here is awesome. Extremely nice and very attentive to details. This is probably the reason I come back more often than usual. Starbucks is Starbucks at the end of the day and you know what you're getting. Not the best cup of joe, but not the worse. Staff makes everything at this spot regardless if I'm going through the drive through at 5am or middle of the day. Best drive thru Starbucks in town!

It's become kind of a ritual to go through the drive through at the Starbucks on 1st Ave S on the way back from early morning drop offs at the airport... Even though I don't drink coffee on a normal basis. My main drink... Iced Latte with Honey or a Vanilla Latte (depending on the weather) and to eat, an Artisan sandwich with black forest ham. Why do I feel compelled to review this Starbucks location, there are definitely many others and I have definitely been to quite a few of them... All the cookie cutter Starbucks (including this one)... The difference, the service here is definitely extrodinary... I have never gone through the drive through and had any so / so or grumpy attitudes coming through the speaker or at the window... There has always been genuine smiles in their voices and faces as well as a laid back feeling that puts you at ease.... They always seem to start the day off right and if not having a good morning, they definitely flip that around with just their uplifting attitude. Besides, they all like my dog and always put up with / laugh at her barking while we drive away because she's wanting to get more attention.. read more

Free parking and close to downtown! I am a coffee shop regular, but don't drink coffee - go figure! But I do drink tea so that is my goto drink at any coffee shop. I do like Starbucks because they have quality green tea, both hot and iced and you can get it in all locations - makes easy ordering for me. So how to I rate a coffee shop? Location, parking availability, quality of staff and ability to work in the store. In this case, the location was very convenient - I could stop for an hour before my appointment downtown and get some work done. The free parking is always nice. Staff was friendly. While they have adequate seating, it was not easy to find a spot near an electrical outlet and the noise level was a little too high for my taste.
