Rude, unprofessional management which is a shame. Not welcoming. Never going there again. More specifically, I tied my puppy up outside because dogs are not allowed inside (which is common & no problem at all - he's used to waiting outside for me). I grabbed my coffee, talked to a friend, and sat where I could see him just fine. A sour patron told me it's too cold out for him to be "chained up". Of course I'd tied him up as opposed to letting him roam around. Too cold? He's an Aussie with a double coat & the cold doesn't bother him. Five mins later, the manager said he was "crying" for me & I couldn't leave him outside. She does not speak dog. He was barking, but only had a spurt AND the music inside was louder than his bark. At that point, I was done being there. Unsolicited judgement is no friend of mine. If a baby cries, are they so quick to scold the parent? I should hope not. I called corporate & they stated I had not broken any of their guidelines & apologized for the unpleasant experience. There are plenty of pet-friendly coffee shops in the area so I will not be back to this location. If you ever see my Aussie, you will see he's great because of the socialization training I'm doing with him, and he will be tied to a pole outside ANOTHER coffee shop. read more

The staff here really go above and beyond. They know all the local regulars, remember their orders, treat them like family, and seem to really enjoy their jobs. They're friendly and engaging and helpful and make trips to this store very pleasant. During COVID they've had to adjust store hours and there have been closures where the small staff couldn't man the store for their usual amount of hours and some of the staff have taken to updating the locals on NextDoor with weekly open hours so people can plan for their coffee fix. That's really taking it next level doing that. It's a super small store, one this area has probably outgrown due to all the expansion and development on Sandbridge and in LagoMar, but they get the job done and with a smile. Right now seating is outside only but you can go inside to order and browse. Their cooler is stocked with goodies and they have tons of pastries and a nice assortment of Starbucks merchandise and cups and seasonal goodies. You can redeem points from the app here for merch as a Star Rewards member and it's bad Bc I get emails about promos on drinks and stuff all the time. Dangerous! You can easily order for pickup with your app and it'll be ready and waiting for you when you arrive. What makes this place 5 Stars are truly the staff. They're awesome. read more

I'll admit it. I spend too much of my hard-earned money on coffee, but hear me out on this one... I've worked in the Oceana area for five years and probably come in to the Starbucks on average twice per week. Not once (and I'm sorry I haven't written this review sooner) have I had a less than pleasant experience or an incorrect drink order. I was so happy when they reopened during this pandemic because the staff works their booties off every day and they love their customers. They have plenty of regulars who they know by name upon entry. The store itself, is small and narrow, so getting in sometimes is a bit trepidatious, but they have plenty of staff to push through drink orders quickly. It can feel a little bit cramped if you don't order through the app and have to wait by the restrooms a few minutes, but they will make it worth your wait. read more

There's a love for the craft of coffee here that you won't find at any ol' Starbucks. There's a larger selection of merchandise at this location, despite its smaller build then other locations. There's a warmth that really comes from the cozy, dark lobby and inviting/friendly baristas. The drinks are always accurate which shouldn't need to be said, but if you're an avid Starbies drinker like myself, then you know some stores struggle with the basics. After probably ducking in most Starbucks in Virginia Beach I found one not visited which is exciting to a coffee nerd like me. The location off Nimmo Parkway is surprisingly easy to miss. Road frontage is good, but if you pass them a different story. GPS will take you into the Target strip which is unnecessary. The store sits feet from Nimmo and has a side entrance. Once parked I was shocked how tiny it appeared. The lot was clear of debris. The walk up and patio also tidy. Once I entered the small floor plan was confirmed. I felt almost claustrophobic on a busy Friday morning. Tables line up on the left with chairs that protrude out of the narrow pass through to get your cup and use restrooms in the rear. Merchandise is much more limited due to space. There is also tables up front to right that have more space. They were all taken by customers using macs. The dining room was clean. I ordered my usual grande white chocolate mocha "for here" in a mug and had a blueberry muffin warmed on a plate. The clerk was super during a very hectic time with a line stretching to the door. He smiled and confirmed my order. The app was utilized to pay and worked flawlessly. In minutes my mocha was out made correctly in a mug. The taste was good, not the best I've ever had but solid. My muffin came out soon after and was properly warmed up. The muffin was warm, fresh and yummy. After finishing I used the men's room and found some debris on the floor. Everything worked properly and overall was tidy. I would return with awesome service, but no rush. I like to hang out at coffee shops and this just felt too small for me to get comfortable. The patio is a better option next time. For a pro tip if not dining in I would use the app to order ahead. This is a super busy little store. 3.5, rounding down. read more

I've only been to this location one time and it was a few days ago. We did the drive thru and there were a ton of cars in front of us. It moved at a pretty normal pace. It wasn't fast, but it also wasn't crazy slow. My dog just had one of her teeth pulled that day and we came here to get her a pup cup for her. I didn't know they were free, so that was awesome. She ate the whole thing in the car on the ride home. I'm def gonna have to stop by more often for a pup cup for her and a peppermint mocha for me! read more

I hope the personality of all the staff working today - rubs off on all SB stores and workers, and mean customers. Everyone was so nice & kind, greeted all who came in, and said "Have a great day" to all who left. I listened to and watched lots of interaction of workers/customers/co-workers. Genuine & sincere vibes. I got my oatmeal & tall blonde roast (which was upgraded to a grande, not complaining,) and ate before hitting these streets shopping (not really, just Red Mill area, lol) and was just amazed and happy in here. This Starbucks is in a very large shopping plaza and it's around two corners so it might be hard to find. It's on the end by Newstead Drive. No drive through though. For a change, I sat around for about an hour after I'd finished my espresso. The music was a bit loud for my tastes but the seating was comfortable. The bench works well with a table and there are several low top and high top tables too. Or you can sit at one of the tables outside in the shade. The usual Starbucks coolers of drinks and whatnot. This Starbucks is located at Red Mill Commons and is the closest one to me. I don't drink coffee, but I do tend to have some hot chocolate now and again here during the colder months. Since December is by birth month, I had a free drink to use by the end of the month. I came in last night to use my free drink on my Starbucks rewards and had a peppermint hot chocolate. The various drinks I have had here have always been consistently good, and this visit was no exception. It was a pretty quiet evening in there. Service was good as always, though I've never been in here when it's been overly crowded. There is one thing to note though about this location. They do have some outdoor seating, along with indoor seating. However, this place is not very big, so seating is limited. A good consolation is that they do have free WiFi, though the free WiFi may have some stay longer there than they would otherwise. If you're in this part of the city and looking for a Starbucks, this is a good place to go. read more

Is there a reason why this store was closed 12/30 2020? Door was locked, workers behind counter, menu chalk sign was on sidewalk. We watched people walk to the door, confused as us. We understand with Covid-19 that maybe something happened. We hope not. I just was wondering. Generally I don't have issues with getting what I ordered but today, I got something I didn't like in place of what I actually ordered. I wanted and ordered the spinach feta wrap with egg whites and they gave me a southwest veggie wrap. The package even says spinach feta wrap on it so I didn't realize it until I got home since I ordered on them app for pickup. Pretty disappointed with it. read more

I'm that girl who picked a mug off the shelf, it slipped out of the box, shattered, then the staff yelled out OPA!! Naturally I was embarrassed for shattering a mug. I started to pick it up but they stopped me right away and swept it up. I offered to pay for it but the barista insisted I shouldn't worry about it and make a joke that sometimes he breaks the mugs for fun. I really appreciated his creating some humor in the uncomfortable situation. As far as the drink goes, it was possibility the best Starbucks drink I've had. I like to get a tall flat white but currently they have a holiday spice flat white and it is so tasty. If you're like me don't like syrupy sweet drinks then this one is a great choice. read more

We frequent this Starbucks the most and the customer service is phenomenal! When my two year old daughter is with us she always tells them what she wants. (Today it was an octopus cookie and her first kids hot chocolate.) They are always patient with her trying to say what she wants with help from mommy when she can't quite say it. We've always been greeted warmly and told have a good day when we leave. My daughter's kids hot chocolate was at a temperature that she could drink it without us worrying about her burning herself. One of the best locations here in VB. It's small, intimate, and tucked in the corner of Redmill. For a Starbucks, it's a bit unrecognizable, because it looks solely like a pop-up store with a drive thru. Cozy and cushioned lawn chairs and tables before the entrance. Depending on the time of day they seating area is the best place to sit bc the neighboring stores provide shade. Nice little set up when you walk in. I like Starbucks like this bc it's small enough that it doesn't get slammed (every time I've been there). The pace here is steady and chill. Cause nothing is worse than being rushed! I forgot who my barista was, but he was an older gentlemen who seemed like he's been working there for a while. He put me on to the caramel latte. I'm guilty of getting frapps all the time. Fast service today I have always been a fan of Starbucks even though some of the drinks are overpriced and have way too many calories and then I usually drink iced coffee or hot coffee. They always have free AT&T Wi-Fi and they usually have pretty good speed. read more

Okay so it's hard for a Starbucks to get it wrong, the baristas are all trained right? Well, while this may be true they can certainly be slower than others. The barista who took my order was VERY thorough, which I can appreciate but also very slow and as a result the line was backing up quite a bit for a strip mall Starbucks in Virginia beach. No one but this east coaster seemed particularly in a rush or concerned about the slowness of the service but I'm sorry I was waiting for my first cup of coffee for the day and was in no mood for a delay. The barista herself making the drinks was speedy and I was happy about that! I Got my drinks fast once I was able to order them and they were well made without any mistakes :) They have a great outdoor seating area, I didn't utilize it but a lot of other patrons were. This Starbucks is the closest store that accepts all of my codes & deals. The store is nice & cozy ~ the service is always quick and accurate. Staff is super friendly and accommodating.
