If I could give it 10 stars I would. we visited on a busy Saturday evening, so there was a wait but oh so worth it. I love that all they offer is clean fresh delicious. They allow you to try several flavors before choosing, which is nice. I chose the goat cheese with fig. The server who may have been the owner recommended having it Affogato. Because it is a coffee shop as well. They could do a decaf espresso on top of this ice cream. I don't know if I've ever had Affogato but this on top of that ice cream was unbelievable. The espresso was a deep rich flavor, but somehow the goat cheese and the fig came through in the taste. It's a little hard to find in all the shops off Elson Green. Neat little place tucked away I an odd spot. The selection of coffee is pretty extensive and they have a decent selection of baked goods. The staff were all very nice and everyone was smiling. Limited seating but very cozy and great to sit for a chat with a friend or two. read more

The Valentine's themed flavors are off the charts! Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake & love at first bite are a great combination. I'm still missing my fav flavor point man pistachio, but if it means the team can dream up new flavors, I'm for it. The staff is always pleasant --gotta love supporting a family-owned local business. I had this on my list of places to try for quite a while! We visited on a rainy evening & it has a few families inside. We sampled 2 of the ice creams & needed up choosing the milk free options. We enjoyed the wall murals painted throughout the shop. There's also cozy seating near an octopus if you go a little further back. The ice cream tasted good but unfortunately gave us upset stomachs! In Virginia Beach for vacation and decided to drive down to Sandbridge Beach. On our trip south we popped in Be Free for ice cream. This was so worth the drive. Veteran owned, quirky flavors and they will let you sample. The service was amazing. I only wish they had another location a little closer to where we stayed... or better, where we are from! After leaving the gym on Monday, I stopped by Be Free because I was craving something sweet, don't judge me lol! I specifically went in for a Cinnamon Roll and was hoping they still had a few left since it was after 5pm. Thankfully, they did so I ordered the Cinnamon Roll and went to pay. The very nice lady asked if I wanted it warmed up but since I wasn't going straight home, I told her not to worry! I love the option though. Before I paid, I was informed that the desserts are 30% off on Mondays because they are closed on Tuesdays. Whatever desserts they don't sell are split between the staff and are also taken to the local fire station for the firefighters to enjoy! Isn't that awesome! With that being said, I also grabbed a Cream Cheese Danish as well because I can't pass up a deal lol. Both desserts were amazing, as I knew they would be! I absolutely love this place! I decided to try another local coffee shop in our area and one that people have beennraving about was Be Free Craft Ice Cream Cafe. As always with local businesses in the area, they did not disappoint. The interior was cool and chic and i loved how it is Veteran owned especially considering we're a military state. Thank you for your service and continued service to the community with your wonderful business. As for drinks and food -- We got the Iced Caramel Latte - delicious! The coffee was strong and full of flavor. The staff were very patient while we read the menu and decided on what we wanted. She was very helpful and suggested various drinks. Leather chair bench seating with brown hues that invite relaxation. Staff were warm, helpful, inviting and friendly! I was immediately greeted upon entering. They offer samples. They had so many fantastic flavors it was difficult to choose! I went with the dark matter and milli mint cookie chip ice cream. It's awesome that they allow you to do half scoops if you want two flavors but only one scoop! You get the best of both worlds without over indulgence. I love a good homemade neighborhood ice cream shop and this place is no exception! They have a variety of regular flavors and some rotating special ones. I tried the commandough which was like a Cookie Monster/Cookie Dough mash up explosion. It was delicious, however I actually thought it was a touch too many cookie pieces. I missed tasting the actual vanilla flavor of the ice cream. I also tried the mint which was pretty tasty too. Bonus points for allowing samples so you get the flavor you want most! We all love a good ice cream parlor and Be Free Craft is one you don't want to miss out on!! We were in town for a long weekend visiting friends and they suggested going here. I am so excited that we stopped by!! This is a Veteran owned business, a plus in itself, and the employees treat you with open arms!! The ice cream shop was quite cozy and had plenty of space to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. There were a variety of different and unique ice creams to choose from. I had to get their mint ice cream creation!! Their homemade waffle cones are, by far, the BEST waffle cones I have ever consumed!! I work at a children's hospital in AZ and seeing the flyer for the Warrior to Warrior Patch Board was heartwarming. Decided to slide in here on a whim during this unforgiving heat wave. An absolute amazing decision for a quick sweet treat and beverage! My partner and I both ordered: Sorbet Refreshers - His was with a red bull for a pre gym pick me up and mine was with sparkling water. Amazing choice for an additive, I got that carbonation and sweetness without overpowering it especially in this heat! Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookie - My goodness , i can just imagine the flavor as I'm typing this. To be fair, anytime a large cookie is sprinkled with flaky salt on top it is an automatic win in my book. My daughter and I were on the hunt for a new ice cream spot. So we found Be Free Craft Ice Cream Shop in Red Mill. It's right next to Planet Fitness, which I thought was funny. I'd be on the treadmill waiting to get done to slide over to next door for a treat. Lol. It's a very modern chic vibe when you enter. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They sell pastries, ice cream, coffee, and quiches. The staff were all absolutely nice and friendly!! I love good customer service!! They were also very informative and open to be honest about what to try!! I got the pumpkin churro and cookie commando ice cream. You can get 1 scoop and split the flavors which was a huge plus for me. Because who wants just one flavor? I also got a Oreo donut. My daughter got the birthday cake ice cream. They offer a smaller scoop for kids. I liked the flavor of the pumpkin ice cream, it wasn't overpowering with pumpkin and it was creamy. I wasn't a big fan of the churro pieces because it got super tough in the ice cream so the chew was a little to much, but again it tasted good! I like the cookie commando and birthday cake ice cream also. They make you feel like a kid again. Very creative and fun flavors. I can't wait to try more. The donuts are a good size, but $5 for 1 donut is kinda steep for me. It should be $3.50 tops, in my eyes. So it was definitely a bougie donut. Taste wise it was just ok. It was a brioche donut, so it looked very appealing but was dry on the inside and had a weird after taste. I'm going to microwave to see if that helps, because I'm not open to wasting $5, nope!! I wouldn't buy that one again, but I'd try the other flavors in hope of a better taste... The quiches must be good because they were sold out, so hopefully I'll get to try that next time. They had a few different flavors. The cafe has seating in front, but there's also a section that's a little more private in the back with pictures of sharks on the wall and a huge mirror at the end of the hall leading to the bathrooms. It was clean and cozy inside. They also sell merch... Definitely a nice experience. They offer free water and have doggie treats that are pre-packaged. As well as pre-packaged ice cream in the frozen section. Be Free is one of those places you certainly should try, there's several ice cream flavors to try, and they'll let you sample a few!! Popped up on my Instagram and noticed it was close so I tried it early this morning. OMG... I may be there every morning. I can't speak to the ice cream, but their pastries are insane! I don't even like breakfast food however they have a bacon, egg and cheese concoction on a croissant type base that is probably the best thing I've ever eaten - their chocolate croissant has tons of chocolate inside and still dipped in chocolate. Then this ham cheddar croissant was phenomenal! The only thing in my assorted box that I did not care for was the cinnamon roll that was very dry, but after pulling it apart and just eating the cinnamon butter concoction from the inside it was still amazing! I came here to try their coffee for the first time. I walked in and it was nice and spacious and clean. The customer service was great and friendly and helpful. I see the board with the menu and I chose the cappuccino and added toffee. I like the cup with their logo. I didn't think the cup of cappuccino was hot enough, it was warm and toasty though. I like it. I looked at the bakery items, maybe I will try them next time not sure. They are veteran owned and I like that you can sample ice cream before you try them. Wonder neighborhood coffee/ice cream spot!! We came one morning to grab pastries and coffee and loooved everything. The staff was super friendly giving us their recommendations and the coffee was very good but their pastries were delicious and not to be missed. We got their huge cinnamon roll and cheese danish, both very good and paired perfectly with their coffee. We also came back on another night to get some ice cream. This place was poppin at night for ice cream!! It was about 8pm and there was a lot of people as we walked in and ended up having a line. came here for the first time today and was definitely impressed. There are so many amazing pastries to choose from and when they warm it up it taste even better. there was also so many amazing ice cream flavors to choose from even some that were vegan and gluten-free, which also tasted amazing if not better. my only criticism is that they do not have any drink options that are non-coffee choices so there wasn't really an option for me. They were able to make me a steamer, but I think it will be nice to have a few more coffee or caffeinated drink options on the menu. Parking was super easy because it's in a complex and there is seating inside and outside with free wi-Fi as well. They only take tips with cash just for your information so make sure to bring cash. Overall, a really cute place to go on a date bring your family and smell some amazing sweet treats. Definitely will be coming back to try more. read more

Be Free Craft Ice Cream Cafe is a fairly new spot to the Red Mill shopping center area. It's next to Home Depot and behind Walmart in the same building the new Planet Fitness is in. Ice cream and pastries then a workout or vice versa anyone? Nonetheless, the ice cream is solid and I had the Reese's overload which is a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirls and milk chocolate brownie pieces. It's more of a deconstructed Reese's but it was still pretty good. I need to go back early in the morning to try some of their pastries like the pop tart. read more

My family is in town to visit family. My nephew recommended Be Free. He knows that I'm a Yelper and that I take ice cream seriously. He hit a home run with this recommendation! Obviously I love the fact that it's not a chain. The shop is clean, bright, modern, and has cool decor. The staff is friendly and efficient, even though they allow sampling, the line still moves pretty well. Perhaps most importantly, the ice cream is crafted by the owner and the flavors are outstanding! I had a three scoop cup. Dark Matter is an awesomely decadent chocolate flavor. The pistachio was high quality and the espresso flavor was legit! Everyone in the family found flavors that they liked and were happy with their choices. Parking is never an issue since it shares a large lot with the nearby stores. The inside of the cafe is much bigger than it looks from the outside, and it's absolutely darling. The space is clear, modern, cozy, and super inviting. The menu has plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. The ice cream is so fun and flavorful, with lots of unique choices. And the pastries? Don't even get me started. They're delicious and honestly worth every penny. Yes, they can be a little on the pricey side, but the portions are huge and the quality is top-tier. Larger than any croissant I've had anywhere else (can be shared w 2-3 people) and not too overbearing with the filling, It always had the right amount of powdered sugar and almond slices. I have to call first to check if they have them before heading out because it's not available everyday. It's been awhile since I've been there so I decided since I'm in the area to stop by. Called them and they said they wouldn't be available until around lunch time. Got there after 12 and ordered 6 but they only had four available. Waited for my order and received them all boxed up along with my cold brewed coffee. Barista was so sweet to leave a touching message on my coffee cup! I was really looking forward to indulging in an almond croissant as soon as I got into my car but what I got was a let‑down. The size was shockingly small for the price -- more like a mini pastry than the rich, flaky treat I expected. The almond filling was too much for the size of the croissant. Worst of all, there was no powdered sugar dusting on top, which is half the charm and adds both flavor and presentation. Without it, the croissant looked plain and over the top with almond slices (that I enjoyed for the crunch with ea bite). For something that should feel like a little luxury, this felt rushed and uninspired. Don't get me wrong, the taste was good but too much filling and the croissants were a bit burnt. . The lady greeted us kindly and was patient while we couldn't decide what we wanted. We ended up ordering an Affogato and Donut Holes and a Ham and Cheese Croissant. The affogato came with a full scoop of ice cream and the espresso separate and this was the BEST. Usually it is skimpy on either side but this way you get ALL THE ICE CREAM and espresso. The donut holes were dusted in cinnamon sugar and even though simple, they were incredibly delightful. The Ham and Cheese croissant was incredible.
