Lately I'm noticing over the years that the food quality is not as great as it was was and especially the fruit parfait's or yogurt parfaits. they have gotten really small now. Okay. Why are you even open? No espresso? At least have a giant sign on the drive thru that says "we somehow ran out of coffee at Starbucks" to prevent everyone expecting to get their favorite drink on the way to work from waiting 20 damn minutes in a drive thru, THAT ISN'T EVEN SERVING HALF THE MENU. I leave almost nothing but 5 star reviews, but this was a 0 star experience. A huge waste of my time, and for some reason although my wife was upset with waiting in a slow line, she still got a banana nut bread. I can't even review it, I didn't bite it, I'm over this location today. Lol. What honestly made me extremely annoyed was when I was told, "we can't make you a Grande white chocolate mocha, but we can make you a white hot chocolate." Let me express by saying a grande white mocha, is the perfect size and combination of sweet and strong. Amazing coffee taste, 2 shots of espresso in a grande. WHY WOULD I WANT A HOT CHOCOLATE. I'm not 5 years old on a Christmas morning, I didn't wait in line to be offered a hot chocolate at a coffee shop that is allowing customers to wait in line for decades to be told they can have an alternative to the one thing they came for. The staff here is really nice but a little bit sloppy. It's really common for the outside of the cups to be sticky and covered in drizzle or spilled coffee. The hot drinks are made well but the cold are not good here. They don't mix them enough so you've got this layer of stuff on the bottom and they randomly put whipped cream on the iced drinks which I hate so so so much and have never encountered at another Starbucks. The only reason you go to Starbucks instead of a local shop is for speed and consistency. This place isn't consistent. read more

I'd give this more but for one you're company should open they're doors with enough money to make change for people who don't have another form of payment. Easy leadership could change that to make you're opening till easier for the public. And for the lady running the window all she could say was talk to corporate she had nothing else to say. Employees made a mistake it happens ‍ but it was the manager who handled it extremely poorly. They weren't able to fix the problem, a simple swap; because the manager seemed to get angry with them, so they would call him over so he could "check" things and seemed snarky and intimidating to the young ladies working there. I am not one to give bad reviews but this is the second time the same thing happened to me. I thought I would give this location another try but the workers here SUCK. The first time I came was in the drive thru, I only ordered one drink and waited at the window for about 2 minutes after paying . Then they open the window and say the total for the next customer as if they gave me my drink. I told them I was still waiting for mine and the guy says "oh this must be yours sitting here" and grabs a cup that had been sitting on the counter the whole time. Was barely warm. Thanks ! Then right now I go inside for one drink and it's completely dead inside. After ordering and sitting there for no less than 5 minutes I walk up to the counter and my drink is just sitting there again . I come here a bit and always have a good experience. Staff is friendly and professional. Today I walked here with my dog, big black lab, and ordered ahead. As I sat outside waiting for my order to be ready another dog showed up and they started having a large and loud conversation with each other. I calmed my dog quickly and we waited outside patiently. The other dog and their owners decided to stay right by the door to enjoy their steaming hot order. This wasn't an issue at all but when I tried to walk inside to receive my order our dogs tried talking to each other again... I was stuck out there and my drink was inside. I grew sad, as I had skipped my morning coffee to take my pup out for a stroll. I called their store on a whim and an enthusiastic and kind gentleman answered the phone and asked how he could help me today. I told him the situation I was in and he joyfully offered to bring my coffee outside. With an exuberant pep in his step he walked outside with a smile and called my name. A wave of happiness filled my body as the warm drink was passed into my hands by this courteous barista. Thanks for making today a great day! read more

This is a nice little Starbucks, located on Walnut Ave between S. Akers and Linwood in Visalia. There are 6 tables out front on the sidewalk shaded by the building soffit. Inside there is plenty of seating, including a long long wooden table suitable for small (non-confidential) conferences, meetings, or study groups. This Starbucks is decorated with the standard corporate-ordered earthy tones, but there was a large colorful mural on the wall depicted a lakeside scene complete with trees and benches, people and animals. It is all very peaceful. I did not notice many electrical outlets located near the tables. They could be well hidden, but I'd make sure your electronic devices are well charged before you arrive - just in case. There was a nice display of cans of Teavana teas that caught the attention of my friend and I. (I am very pleased by the partnership of Starbucks and Teavana) We both ended up taking a tin home with us; she chose the English Breakfast tea and I chose the Pineapple Kona Pop. I have already brewed mine, and fell in love with it. It is an herbal infusion of pineapple, citrus, apple, and rose, and therefore is caffeine-free. The tin does not look very full, but it holds enough tea to make 15 cups since it only takes 1 1/2 teaspoons to make each cup. Be aware that, like most Teavana teas, they come as a loose leaf tea, not a bagged tea. You'll need the proper implement (a tea infuser) to prepare it. With the amount of money I spend at Teavana, you can be certain I already have several on hand. While at Starbucks, I also ordered a tiramisu latte. I know that it barely qualifies as coffee since it is mostly steamed milk and syrup, but consider it a hot liquid dessert if it makes you feel better. The service was quick and efficient. The barrista went down the line of waiting customers asking us for our drink orders so that he could start them before we even reached the register which kept the line moving quickly. We were in and out with our order in minutes. When my friend tasted her iced green tea she made a face and announced that she forgot to tell the barrista not to add the sweetener. They happily (and quickly) remade her drink for free even though it wasn't their fault that the drink was not what she wanted. I've always appreciated that positive attitude towards customer service when I find it at a Starbucks - truly legendary. read more

And the customer service is lacking. I was in the drive thru for almost 10 min waiting for a strawberry green tea lemonade and the guy was confused as how to add lemonade. Been to one Starbucks, you've been to them all. Went this afternoon (4pm) to get a pick me up while also getting my one year old to nap. Sat in the drive thru for about 15 minutes before I got to the order box. It was then, with about 7 cars behind me, you saw a very small sign. The sign stated that their hours had changed and they now close at 2:30pm. No where else can this be seen. Every car in front of me sat and waited at the box before driving on. I come to this Starbucks every day. Not even kidding. I order the same thing: tall Americano with extra cream. It is always delicious, and is super convenient since I live right around the corner and it's on the way to where I work. It's a way I treat myself during the day. The new baristas at this Starbucks make the line REEEALLLLYYYY slow! I used to always rave to my friends about how fast the drive through is and how great the baristas are, but as of the last few months, it's been very slow and inconvenient and the baristas don't make a point to talk to you! Even when the line doesn't look very long, I have to plan on leaving for work an extra 10 minutes early so I can get my morning coffee. I've even gone inside to see if it is faster and it isn't. Probably the worst experience I had at Starbucks ever. I waited at an empty counter for about 3-4 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Then had the rudest barista named Justine take my order. No smile, seems like she was either in a bad mood or just hated her job. And to top it off my coffee was just eeeeh. Guess it's my fault for even waiting. Next time I'm working in Visalia I'll find a different location to head to even if it's a little longer drive. If you want mediocre coffee and bad customer service I'd recommend this location. This is my fave Starbucks in Visalia! I drive from Ben Maddox all the way to Walnut & Akers to specifically go here. They are fast and friendly! Best of all, they are consistent! I always get a great drink! Josh has been there for years and he's extremely nice and friendly! I've never seen him there without a smile on his face. If you come here on a regular basis, he will always remember you, ask how you've been and be your BFF. The newer guy, Nico, is very nice as well! If they aren't super busy, he will politely engage in conversation with you at the window. I saw that Starbucks had a sale for their specialty cups, as displayed on their website in store and online. NO COUPON REQUIRED. Asked them to ensure they were on sale, but because they were not aware of the sale refused to give me the discount. Which is fine, however they then walked away from the register and left me standing there humiliated. MULTIPLE staff members stated they could not change the price, although I know they can because every business has that option. I was pretty upset that they assumed I did not want to purchase the cup. No one asked me if I still wanted the item, just simply ignored me and continued with their job. No apologies, rude staff and absulutely no customer service. Makes sense why this Starbucks had terrible ratings in comparison to others In town. Will be calling corporate soon. read more
