One of the dirtiest Starbucks I've been to, with trash overflowing from the receptacle inside the shop and garbage scattered on the ground outside the front door. Cashier was initially missing upon my entry, so i stood in front of one of the two registers awaiting her return. She came out from the back room and walked to the other register without saying anything, and waited for me to relocate. She scratched her head frequently between ringing me up and refilling the cups/supplies, which was less than ideal. The staff was friendly, received the correct coffee within 2 mins although I had to wait 10 mins for my bagel I'll be back to visit!

The employees here just couldn't care less about providing service. I ordered coffee and a bagel. As i was paying, my cashier asked her coworker, "do I have to make my own food?" in that whiney I-don't-wanna tone. I watched her for 5 minutes as she took more orders, NOT putting my bagel in the toaster. When I finally got my bagel, the cream cheese was frozen solid. I asked the guy making coffee if I can get the cheese replaced. He called out to his coworkers (one of which was the same whiney girl who took my order) for new cheese - his coworkers were ignoring him. I had to finally go back to the same cashier and tell her she gave me frozen cheese. So 5 minutes later just to get unfrozen cheese, my bagel was cold and stale. Good job ladies. Standard Starbucks experience. Baristas are pretty friendly and relatively speedy in getting my order. It's right near the Van Ness metro which is convenient for commuting. Not a ton of seating inside, so probably not ideal for those looking to do work. read more

If it was possible I would give it zero stars. this must be the worst Starbucks in DC. On Dec. 16, 2017, I and another customer waited at the cashier's while the woman supposed to take orders was on the phone. Once she got off the phone she started counting and sorting out tip money from the gratuities boxes, completely ignoring the customers. She did not make eye contact or give an apology, something like "I'll be with you in a moment." If anything, he face expressed complete disdain for the customers. I love Starbucks... but I've gotta go 3 stars for this one. It always seems a touch unclean in here for some reason (maybe it's the proximity to the metro??). In any case, the inside seating is not very inviting. My drinks have always been accurately made (I occasionally stop in here on the way home to walk with a drink). I'll keep going of course, but I wish they'd make the atmosphere more inviting. read more

For a large coffee chain like Starbucks, I don't understand the inconsistencies that go on amongst the stores. The drinks SHOULD be standard, as well as the service; however, this was just not the case at this Starbucks. Service was AWFUL...slow, and the staff was not friendly by any means. The only person taking orders stepped away as I tried to pay; unbeknownst to me what he was doing, considering he was gone for 5 minutes without any of the other baristas helping him with the line that was quickly becoming longer & longer. read more

Small lobby area with not a lot of table space. Very few outlets are available for the laptop use. There are always homeless people lingering in the patio area. I would recommend that the staff pay more attention to the outside patio area and to clean up often. The drinks are off and on- once you find a good barrista I tend to stick to them. I will literally leave the store and not order depending on who is working behind the counter because not every employee in there is well equipped to handle making a grande mocha frap or soy chi latte. 3 stars because some of the baristas are great and close to the Metro. But just take the drink and leave. read more

This is my local Starbucks so I'm here a few times each week. The baristas are friendly, professional and NEVER mess up my drink! That's rare compared to other Starbucks in the NW DC area! The line always moves very quickly and my order is always correct. My only reason for not giving 5 stars has more to do with the space itself...there are only electrical outlets near the large table in the corner. Since this location is right next to UDC, Howard Law and nearby American University, I would suggest finding a way to make outlets more accessible. read more

We can debate the wisdom of going to a Starbucks in the first place, but leaving that aside, if you want a coffee product you should schedule a great deal of time in your schedule if you plan to purchase your coffee product from this location. I had a few birthdays while waiting in line. I have only been there once however and cannot make a claim to the overall speed of the location. read more

Love this Starbucks - clean store and friendly staff, they work fast and the store is busy with the metro, bus stop, UDC and regular customers. Plus the store is a small one for a Starbucks but that's what happens in the city- you make do with what you get and the manager does a great job at that. I go there every day. read more

Worst Starbucks experience ever. Ordered an iced Americano via the app. Had to wait beyond the time noted because the two employees working the drink area decided it was time to restock supplies. When they noticed me (finally), one finished my drink and proceeded to make it weak -- adding more water than noted on the glass. I was in a rush and didn't have time for a redo. Sucked. Staff was really friendly, but unfortunately they didn't have what I wanted (ran out of green tea) nor did they have my second choice (shaken iced tea lemonade -- ran out of lemonade). This branch does not produce the standard cappuccino. It's not easy..have to get the right mix of espresso, milk and foam. Too milky. The one at Dupont nails it every time. In all fairness, I have only been to this location twice. read more

After waiting for around 10 minutes during a slow period, checked on my drink and they had forgotten to make it, so had to re-order. This was after they had forgotten my friend's order 15 minutes earlier. Once I received the drink, it wasn't full and was so sweet I couldn't even drink it. Upon checkout I received a Starbucks invite to download the app and join for a free drink by 7/2/18 and this was on 7/11/18, so it was pointless. The restroom was in the worst/unclean condition I have experienced. multiple issues here! read more

I've been here a few times, and the service is always pretty slow. No matter whether I went at a peak or off-peak time, the baristas always take a long time to get everyone's orders and then make them. They also seem to screw up people's orders, or forget about them outright, with some frequency. It's close to the Van Ness Metro stop, but convenience is about all it has going for it. read more

I wish I could give negative stars to this Starbucks. It is possibly the least efficient coffee shop I have ever been to, the only reason why I continue to return is because of the convenience and I need caffeine. I purposely place my online order 15 minutes before I arrive (and I only am getting a BLACK COFFEE) because I know it will take forever. Even when I do arrive it takes at least 7 minutes for them to get me my order. When I get my order, 9/10 times it is wrong and they have to redo it. Mind you, I am not getting any fancy latte or mocha, I am literally just getting a plain black coffee. One would think it is hard to screw up, but the incompetent workers at the Starbucks manage to mess it up almost every single time. read more
