Everything from the coffee to the empanadas to the seating were perfect! This is the cutest coffee shop to visit for a breakfast. If I lived here, I would walk down here every weekend to enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. The service is friendly and they keep the indoor and outdoor seating areas clean. They have a wide variety of coffee, tea and espresso drinks and plenty of pastries and freshly baked empanadas to enjoy. I ordered the nitro-better than Starbucks-not too strong but also not weak. I also enjoyed the beef empanada-stuffed with flavorful ground beef in a buttery, flakey crust. I will be back the next time I am in town.

Such a perfect cafe! Everything is tasty and consistently good every time you come. Staff is super friendly and helpful if you have questions on the menu as well. It does get pretty busy on weekends but the line still moves pretty fast. If it's too busy inside they also have outdoor seating. I had the london eye latte and an egg sando and I would 100% recommend!

A great coffee spot in Takoma. I love a good latte and the maple latte was a great sweet drink. I also got a croissant which was nice and flaky. This place is a very adorable spot and I had heart a lot of really great things about it and it did not disappoint. Service is also great- drinks come out quick but are also made with care.

While I was in the area, I stopped by the Lost Sock Roasters, because, one, the name sounded adorable, and, two, I wanted to get a caffeine fix and try out their empanadas. I ordered: +the Rose Cardamom Latte - prepared with syrup, espresso, and milk; this wasn't 'extra hot' as requested, and you could hardly taste the rose or the cardamom; it just tasted like warm milk... +an order of 3 empanadas - spinach and feta; Argentinian Style Chicken; and, Argentinian Style Beef; the empanadas were not fresh or warmed through properly, as the filling was cold; and, considering that you're not ordering 1, but 3, they should serve the number of dipping sauce accordingly; just seems that they were super cheap about it or not considering this at all Staff were friendly; the place is definitely small, so there's only a handful of tables and tight counter seating; definitely not recommended for those who get claustrophobic. I'm glad I was able to try this place out, but most likely would not return due to the disappointing experience. Metered street parking can be found in the area. +flavorless coffees +food is not heated through properly +cheap with the sauces for empanadas +metered street parking available

Passionfruit Espresso Tonic

My review is largely based on the fact they make espresso tonic, one of my favorite summer drinks. Had a passionfruit espresso tonic today, and it's very tasty. (Also available with matcha instead of espresso.)

The earl grey latte is a problem!! Soooo good! I also tried the rose cardamom one it was good but the earl grey reigns supreme to me!! 10 out of 10 would recommend for coffee and even to work out of. It is small and intimate but pretty quiet and chill. Everyone that works there is nice and friendly!

Good coffee! It was busy when we came Sunday morning but we managed to get a table and order some breakfast as well. I got the iced London eye latte which reminded me of a London fog but in latte form. It was delicious and I loved the level of sweetness! I also got their chicken empanada which I thought was ok. The employees are super friendly and I love the area lost sock is in as well.

Really needing a coffee and in an unfamiliar neighborhood, I was lucky to come across this place! It's small enough to be cozy without being claustrophobic, and the interior is bright tiles and big windows that offset the dark wood. For nice days there is a small patio out front. I enjoy trying the different techniques and approaches that roasters have with their coffees, and appreciate that the staff is knowledgeable about the different coffees they have. The staff was really nice and made good recommendations based on the types of coffee that I prefer. Their pour over is served a bit cooler than I usually drink it, but the roast was well balanced so I didn't mind the change of pace.

I've been attending the 1st location (Takoma), since they opened in 2021. The baristas, coffee, and music choice is what keeps me coming back.

I think many coffee nerds in DC say this is the best craft coffee roaster in DC. After coming here, I agree. The drip is on point. The staff is knowledgeable. They know what they're doing, and it is a busy operation. I got some empanadas, and thought they were just okay. One of mine was over salted, and they exchanged it. So, no complaints on the great service. The inside of the shop is eclectic and hipster. The lines are VERY long, and for good reason: the coffee is great. I took a 45 minute subway ride to get here, and it was worth it.

Really nice baristas and I would 100% return for the empanadas! The coffee wasn't my favorite. Plenty of street parking outside via park mobile. A good amount of seating inside but they've also got a nice outdoor patio!

You know the coffee is good when you can enjoy it black without any additives! Food: My drip coffee was nutty, nuanced, and smooth and paired well with a trio of empanadas (2 chicken and 1 vegan). Service: As a first-time visitor I appreciated the attentive service provided by the employee at the register. He took the time to explain the menu and recommend some fantastic food options. Ambience: The background music and nice smell in the air made the place feel calm and inviting. The bright and cozy space offers limited seating at tables and window stools. There is also outdoor seating; however, the chilly weather prevented me from enjoying it. The nitro cold brew was unavailable on the day I visited, so I'm eager to try it the next time I'm in the area!

Coffee was good but the ambiance was better. Enjoyed the breakfast options but also enjoyed the proximity to donut run more.

Updating for 2026: Still my top coffeeshop and roaster in the area! I really look forward to having…read moremy oat cappuccinos each Saturday that I can make it over there and trying whatever the crew has on espresso that day. My favorite bean from the holiday season was the Cerro Dragon GEISHA - not only absolutely delicious but a great and wonderfully affordable--accessible--gift. It's always a delight to get to sit down and enjoy the cup and company no matter how crazy their rushes get.

Nagadi Coffee Roastery was on my Google Maps list for so long that I've forgotten about it until my…read morefriend sent me an Instagram Reels video about Nagadi that went viral in the DMV area. I saw the video and knew it was going to have phenomenal pour overs and espresso drinks. Since the cafe only opens on Saturdays from 8-1, I knew I had to make an effort to stop by despite the 30+ minute drive. Unfortunately, many other people had the same exact idea as me, and the staff was definitely overwhelmed by the popularity. There was a long wait for espresso drinks (at least 30 minutes). All bags of beans were sold out (I'd recommend ordering online and picking up or getting it delivered in the future). POUR OVER / DRIP - 5.35 By the time I ordered, they were out of most pour over options so I tried the Costa Rica Cumbres del Poas since I wanted a fruitier coffee. Fortunately, the wait for pour overs was pretty short, about 10 minutes. The flavors were fruity, but not overwhelmingly so, with a lighter mouthfeel. The pour over was a bit more diluted than I'm used to, but I still enjoyed it greatly. CORTADO - 4 After a 45 minute wait, I finally got my cortado. This has got to be one of the best cortados I've had in the DMV. The espresso was bright and fruity and paired well with the steamed whole milk. It was definitely worth the wait! If Nagadi was closer, I can see myself going 1-2x a month. I'd highly recommend this coffee roaster to any coffee snob looking for high quality coffee in the area.

The lattes here are sweeter than savory but delicious, topped with thick whipped cream... I think it is homemade whipped cream, but whatever they do, they definitely aced it very well. - Habibi latte: very scrumptious! It is a must-get, although it's a seasonal drink, so it may not always be available...alas! Pretty sweet and almost like eating some Dubai chocolate as you drink it... worth the adventure! - The Bear Necessities: I was very impressed with this latte. I had low expectations, as most cafes can't perfect the dark art of latte for every latte drink on the menu, especially the seasonal drinks... But girl, I was proven wrong and I enjoyed this drink so much! It came with thick whipped cream topped with one graham cracker bear and crumbled graham crackers... The flavors were cinnamon and honey and reminded me of cinnamon crunch cereal in some ways, but of course, it wasn't too sweet though! I was tempted to order another one... The sandwiches (1 roast beef and 1 grilled turkey) were just average if you ask me to compare these with other sandwich specialty shops... next time, I'd try something else! Overall, no complaints as I'm impressed with the coffee options, especially the seasonal drinks! Service was good and quick. The employee behind the counter was super friendly and very accommodating to ensure she got our orders right. Plenty of seating on a Saturday late morning which was surprising. Lots of seating at the outdoor patio as well! Very spacious.

Great for a post-(long) run meal before I hop on the metro back to DC! The lattes are on the sweet side but delicious, thick, creamy, and very innovative--worth it. The food? Not so much, but still decent. I tried the following: - Habibi latte (hot with oat milk) - delicious!! Definitely a must-get. It was quite sweet but really reminded me of Dubai chocolate. Really amazing how they nailed down the flavors. Perfect for chocolate lovers and very unique and innovative. Presentation was also excellent, with a generous amount of whipped cream. - The bear necessities - equally delicious latte and really cute presentation too, with a graham bear cracker on top! I'm not a big fan of cinnamon-flavored drinks, but this one was more subtle. It was so thick and richly flavored that the cinnamon wasn't overpowering for me. I was very impressed. - Roast beef sandwich - meh okay. It was supposed to come with ciabatta bread (which I think would've tasted way better), but apparently, there was none that day, so I got it with sourdough bread. - Turkey sandwich - I got it served hot with sourdough bread, and my partner and I enjoyed this one more than the roast beef sandwich. The roasted red peppers were a nice addition to the sandwich. The accompanying salad with the sandwiches was fine, nothing special. Service was good and quick. Plenty of seating on a Saturday late morning, and the outdoor patio was cute and spacious.
