I came here on my work today and this time I didn't order anything cafenated. The Strawberry Lemonade is on of my favorites from here and I was ready for me when I walked in. The service here has always been fast, and I really haven't experienced any mixup or wrong orders. Parking was easier today, and soon enough I was on my way to work with strawberry lemonade in hand. I've tried to hang put here one time before and it wasn't that comfortable. I think they purposely have hard chairs to encourage folks to not stay that long. Great neighborhood coffee spot. We go often and meet many nice customers. Some have become friends. Some friends are furry like the dog gent pictured below. He is named "Chico". Chico and the Man was a 70s era TV show. Chico was at Starbucks with his man. I felt like i was on TV. Remember the theme song? Look it up if you don't. I feel old admitting that I watched that show first-run. The coffee is good. Sometimes i get a rice crispy treat. It is nice with the coffee. There are a lot of expensive colorful drinks on the menu. That seems sketchy to me. My granddad would say that the cup costs more than its contents. It looks like adult Koolaid. $8 for sugar H2O. Stick with the coffee. Maybe coffee cake. Chico is the best. This store has made me fall back in love with Starbucks. It's the people who work there that make it special. Caroline is especially thoughtful. I have a strange preference for how I like my iced tea. When she sees my order she makes the extra effort to blend the ice. No complaints, I use the mobile app. (It does get busy when the local school lets out, can't recall the time). A GLOBAL STARBUCKS COMPLAINT: I get a grande quad shot americano (room) and there's no mobile option to ask for a "double cup" (+ sleeve) which is necessary given the heat of the cup. The service from the worker Ciao was HORRIBLE. About a week ago I came into the store and he was incredibly rude. I ordered a venti matcha with 10 scoops of matcha and he gave me a nasty look and was judging my order. He gave multiple side comments stating I don't need to order a matcha with 10 scoops and then didn't put my 10 scoops. Then I came back today and he simply gave me a nasty look and no greeting when I came up to order. He also gave me attitude about my order again. His customer service is horrible and I was so disappointed/angered to receive this treatment at Starbucks especially from this location that I come to daily. read more

I just had the worst Starbucks experience at this Starbucks, although I travel the world and I go to Starbucks everywhere. I am pregnant and I have waited for 40 minutes with my 2 kids, I had to order 2 times and each time they forgot to prepare my order. This was a nightmare instead of being a pleasure. I love this place not only because the Barista's are nice and very friendly, but this place is always clean. It has an outdoor and indoor seating with plenty of seat. The drinks are pretty consistent and they have variety of sandwiches. It's a great place to just chill out or do some work done. Has also good wifi signal. read more

I love this Starbucks the baristas are cool and laid-back and very accommodating and not to mention they know how to actually make the drinks. It's so hard to find a Starbucks that knows how to make the cool brew teas because apparently a lot of these Starbucks aren't following the recipe. I also like that they keep food stocked. They also do well with getting online orders out which seems to be a challenge for other Starbucks. As far as the layout goes it is a little tight especially if you have a stroller, but it's DC so that's expected. Perfect outside low key sitting area. What can you say to justify a 4 star rating for a Starbucks? I have one answer for you: the crowd. The best part about this Starbucks is the people who come in to buy the coffee. There is always a beautiful mix of regulars who are taking up the tables and seats (first to go is anything within harpoon range of an electrical outlet). Add on to that the continual stream of people who don't seem to have a job (I'm not judging, but if you're in sweats at 11:30am on a Tuesday grabbing Starbucks in NW, you tell me what's up) that are so insistent on parking in the cross-walk rather than walk more than 10ft, that the DC Police had to put up barriers to physically block out the parking space! Too Starbucks credit, the people working there are friendly, and seem to share my joy of people watching this particular breed of Washingtonians. So there. read more

got a small mocha frappaccino and a small tazo black tea here on Saturday evening about 6pm for over $6 (including DC's horrific 10% restaurant tax!). Both tasted good but the milk was little off that I added to the tea. It was too late to change it though as we'd left the place. Nice staff there. The main front door, on the corner of the street has two steps but I believe there's a side entrance further up Ct Ave NW that is accessible. read more

A solid Starbucks well placed on Connecticut Avenue. It has a moderate amount of seating, primarily in the form of shared counter tables. Can get a bit hectic but good service amidst that. A bit of outdoor tables too. Overall a nice Starbucks despite the crowding and low space. read more

I retract my previous positive review of this place. I bought a salad here on Friday afternoon and tried to eat it today (three days later) and it was totally rotten. I'm sorry but lettuce does not go bad in three days when kept in the refrigerator (which it was, the whole time). This makes me think it wasn't fresh in the first place, when the salad was made. I took it back to the store and the manager not only refused to let me exchange it for a fresh salad, but also was totally rude about it, and blamed me for not eating it right away. I guess their food should come with a disclaimer saying that they're not responsible for its freshness if you don't eat it the moment you buy it. And come to think of it, the sandwich I bought here a few weeks ago was all soggy and gross, and I did eat that right away (or at least I tried to...I had to throw the bread away). I don't know about anyone else, but I don't scarf down the produce I buy at the grocery the same day I bring it home, and it lasts in the refrigerator. I won't be patronizing this Starbucks anymore, but if you do, I suggest you stay away from their allegedly "fresh" food. read more

As Starbucks goes, this is a really good location in terms of friendly staff and the recent addition of a lot more seating. It's always buzzing. The one down side, and the reason for the three stars is more a corporate issue with Starbucks - the stupid La Boulange branding thing. First I thought they had made up a word as there is no such thing in France as a Boulange. Then I read that it's actually a brand from SF - how are us east coasters supposed to know that. It would be like taking Wawa and putting it on store in the west coast. Anyway, regional egotism aside the pastries are ridiculously small. Yes, everyone in California eats a fraction of the caloric intake of most of the rest of us but please bring back decent sized food and stop asking to heat my muffin. Baked goods are not meant to be heated. Other than that, this Starbuck's is pretty nice and if you hang out there long enough you'll see one of DC's resident pundits! read more

I went into this location this morning to find that the heat was on when it is 75 degrees outside. When me and a few other customers asked why one of the employees explained there was a mix up in the system and they can't get it shut off. Meanwhile the employees are diligently working without complaining and literally drenched in sweat! Failing from their foreheads and soaking in their shirts! For those working closer to the opened door like Tayler and Julia they get absolutely no relief as the heat from outside is hitting them as well! I asked where the manager was, they stated that Mira wasn't there. I certainly understand that as a business sales need to take place and the business needs to be ran but not at the expense of your employees safety! This location should have been and should be closed until this is resolved! It wasn't even pleasant to be in there for 5 mins as a customer! I can not imagine and entire shift! read more

I have been to at least 150 Starbucks and this is easily the best Starbucks I've ever been to. Tayler was amazing. She made the best flat white I've ever had. The consistency of the cream was perfect and delicious. I know from experience that flat whites are super hard to make but she did it so well. I can see why Tayler has so many regulars. I will never visit this location again based on the rude and insensitive treatment by one of the staff members who identified herself as a manager. She was nasty, impatient and made a statement that could have been interpreted as culturally insensitive at a minimum. There was no confrontation or issue that warranted her actions. When she discovered that we were not the "type of people" she assumed, she tried to "clean things up". I can only imagine how she treats people she feels are not up to her standards. We will take our dollars elsewhere and file a formal complaint with Starbucks and the Better Busines Bureau. In the meantime, beware because she is nasty! read more

Beware! This place has ants running around the counter! I swung by 6 am on June 14, 2017 for tea. As I am waiting for by tea on the far end if the counter, I noticed ants scurrying around! I took video of my phone for record...I alerted the staff who were aware of it and even called the corporate office ( and even sent the video) ... no feedback or phone all apologizing yet so-Wonder are ants crawling over the food there too? read more
