I usually will drive 2 miles out of my way to get to a local coffee shop vs. going to Starbucks. There are many reasons I get a latte every single day, but one of them is because I like the presence a coffee shop brings, and Starbucks of course is devoid of any charm so there's that low expectation walking in the door. I also like the chit chat, how's the dog, what's the weather like, etc. kind of exchange you don't get when it's just a factory at a chain option. Today we were using up a gift card. After the wait in line we arrive at the non-smiling cashier hoping to push you through the system, asking if you are done ordering with every item added. Just not a nice casual exchange, but kind of stressful, hurried and chaotic. The OPPOSITE of what I look for in a coffee shop! Out of character we were taken in by an amazing looking donut in the case -- an old fashioned donut super crispy on top. What we got, however, was not that fabulous looking donut in the case with the crusty top, it was a super soft and dense donut that tasted like it was out of a package. Blah. I used my donut chit on a disgusting glob of donut. Super disappointing. Also we waited a while for our drinks because of the plethora of to go orders that were being made while we waited. read more

First time having the cold foam cascara nitro cold brew. It was amazing! Highly recommended! Smoothest cold brew I've ever had. Tastes like a Guinness. It also has a special top where you can drink from it instead of using a straw. read more

I get to the Starbucks at 8:45pm and as I'm about to approach the doors the lights are turned off with 15 minutes before they close. You stand by 5 AM to 9 PM on google and by yelp it says 5am-7pm so whomever is wrong about the hours should figure that out. Plus you're closing your doors at 8:45 PM. Employees looked annoyed to see us walk in by the looks on their faces. Then additional people came behind us and all of the sudden their facial expressions and attitudes changed. Clearly the woman knew this patron, must've been a regular or something because she sure was smiling and excited to make his coffee. Left, said thank you our loud. Don't think she heard because she was too busy talking, or maybe she didn't hear me, or maybe she just didn't care. Not sure. Spent $30 at this location and won't return. My new Starbucks during the week. I quit going to my previous one because the service became SO SLOW and orders were not correct. The Wilmette Starbucks in the Eden's Plaza hasn't let me down. They are quick, efficient, accurate, and friendly! They are on it with their mobile orders as well. It's your classic Starbucks food and coffee. Their ordering is great because they have never run out of product while I have been ordering. Their store is always clean, even the bathroom. Plenty of parking in the lot out front. No drive-thru. They do have an outdoor seating area during the appropriate seasons. The seating area is small. So if you're looking for a place to work, depending on the day, it could be tough. read more

It's really a 50/50 shot if it's going to be a good experience at this location. They usually get my drinks right but I order for my salon a lot and I don't get the best reaction when I order multiple drinks. I get that they get busy but also being in the service industry I'd expect them to be happy to get so many orders. I really don't appreciate them rolling their eyes or snapping at me. It doesn't happen every time. Some of their workers are always pleasant with me! But I feel bad already ordering 5 drinks and having to walk by myself trying not to spill them! read more

Drinks are consistent and staff is friendly. This store has a Clover brewing system which is a nice touch. I would have expected it at a store with better seating like Plaza Del Lago or something. The seating area is on the smaller side but you can usually find something. This store has a consistent flow of traffic coming in and out. The parking situation can be a bit of a nightmare due to the surrounding stores. It can take 10 minutes just to get out of the parking lot during peak traffic times. Not my favorite store in the area but it'll do in a pinch. read more

BEWARE! A man reached into my purse today and stole my wallet at this Starbucks. The employees were no help whatsoever. I told the police I saw who did it and it would be on security tape - the employees disinterestedly said all cameras are on the employees behind the counter and the tape wouldn't help the police. I went by this Starbuck's last night at 7:15PM. I walked up to the door, but couldn't open it, the door was locked. I was sure that this location stays open until 9PM, so looked for their hours. The hours are not posted. Two employees were standing behind the bar / register area chatting and neither acknowledged me. I went to the other door, it was also locked. I looked up their hours on Yelp, which show they are open until 9PM. Later I checked the Starbuck's website and it does say they are only open until 7PM. I'm rating them for not having their hours posted in a conspicuous place and for the fact that their employee couldn't mouth to me something like "sorry we're closed". I have visited this Starbucks MANY times as I work just down the street. Generally, I have found the staff to be incredibly friendly and welcoming, but the new (or whom I don't remember engaging with before) manager on duty today was so bitter about customer interactions. Moreover, he was passing this on to the new employee that he was training (who was very kind). The new employee was having trouble taking my order, and since I was ordering for three people, that makes perfect sense. I slowly kept repeating it to him and laughing with him as he figured it out. The manager comes out and passive-aggressively (but right in front of me) tells the cashier that he should "never be afraid to ask the customer to slow down." He never made eye contact with me or spoke to me, but after three failed attempts to type in the correct order, he took over for the new employee. As I was waiting for my order and other customers were putting in their orders, the manager went on a rant to the new employee that he'll encounter frustrated customers who are in a rush, but "that's their problem." "They have no right to ask you to rush, and if they are in a hurry then they should have left themselves more time." The other customers and I just kept awkwardly looking at each other and raising our eyebrows because it was so uncomfortable and unprofessional. The time of my visit was May 30 at 2:45 pm, in case this helps Starbucks to identify this employee. He clearly needs more customer service training. read more

They have a very long glass wall which makes for a great spot to hang out and surf or do work while having your coffee.
