Do not work with Josh. Note that his most recent reviews are all one-star, and unfortunately our experience matches that pattern. We hired Josh to do a full rewire of our house. He initially seemed knowledgeable and articulate about the work required, and his pricing was neither unusually high nor unusually low. However, his conduct and professionalism were a major problem. He repeatedly missed every deadline he set for himself, which pushed our move-in date back multiple times. We later discovered that he lied about being properly licensed--his license was suspended at the time he started the job. The work he completed was also subpar and in some areas unsafe. As a reminder for anyone hiring a contractor: in California, they cannot legally ask for more than 10% of the project cost or $1,000 as a deposit. Josh violated this standard, requesting funds for materials that were never reflected in the work performed. I strongly recommend hiring someone else. Our experience was stressful, expensive, and unsafe. Hiring Josh was one of the most stressful experiences in my life. He is a practiced liar who seems like he's dealing with an addiction that he will make into your problem. read more

I hired him to replace 2 lightbulbs in our kitchen, paid the invoice (cost of lightbulbs and labor), had an appointment scheduled. He confirmed but no show. Rescheduled to another day and again, no show. He kept making excuses about how he's busy with another big job. Then he just went dark. No responses to texts or voicemails. Josh was responsive and courteous through Yelp messaging and the current reviews speak for themselves. 5 STAR I needed two ceiling fans installed. One needed wiring and mounted and the other just mounted. Josh and his crew were here on time and did a fantastic job. Talked to 5 different electricians and sent one to my office for a job and another to my home. The guy that came to my office did the job well, didn't say more than 2 words to me and then charged me his minimum price which while not exorbitant was still pricey. Didn't clean up either. Stark I used at home and Josh is great. Installed a chandelier and my nest doorbell for a very reasonable price. Personable and very competent. He even wore shoe covers coming in to my house. I am starting off with I will never use this company again nor would I refer them to anyone. I called Josh because he was a friend of a friend and I enjoy giving business to small business and utilizing personal referrals. That was quite the mistake. I called for a simple job. Please come out and install a plug and outlet so I can charge my electric forklift. Josh came out to do a job walk and assured me that this was a simple job and gave the quote. What he didn't realize is that the building needed 3 phase and only had one phase for power so the charger would have never worked to begin with. Regardless he scheduled the job. When the guys showed up in the morning they replaced an outlet that didn't need to be replaced, cut the plug off of a compressor and called it a day. Mind you this was a compressor that worked that morning. Now that they left we don't have a plug on the charger and the compressor does not work. Josh's response was the generators died and needs to be replaced. He acknowledged that they did not put the right outlet on and came back to fix this. The problem not being able to be fixed he comes out several more times until I have to get involved to figure out his mistakes. After billing me for a job that could have never been completed in the first place and commenting this is an expensive plug instead of taking accountability. I give him a second chance to help me figure out a mobile generator and install a plug for this. Sending him photos and giving him all the information he requested. He installs the wrong plug and blames the rental company for altering their plugs(which are standard). Still again not taking my accountability for his ignorance. When confronted again. He says he will be out next day to change the plug so I am not out a day of rental for the generator without usage. But yet again he is no where to be found to fix the problems he created to begin with. I have given him the options to resolve the problem and he is again no where to be found. So here I am sharing my experience so no one else has to go through the headache of dealing with someone so incompetent that I'm surprised he has any satisfied customers and is in business. read more

We hired Stark Electrical to come and move a 220v line from an existing laundry area to the garage. They arrived as scheduled and worked diligently and professionally on the job. I asked them to also give me a quote on running a line for a future spa, but haven't received that quote yet. Not sure if I'll be getting one. read more

Once he cut the drywall and installed the fan, I was told he had to charge me an additional $450 for scaffolding to repair the wall. I'm in a single story condo that can be reached with a standard latter. The light on the fan doesn't work as well. He is a con man, be careful! read more

I called Josh a little over a week ago to fix what I initially thought would be a fairly simple matter. As I would find out, there were some unexpected turns and Josh had to come by a total of 3 times to resolve and fix my issue. Through all this, he not only kept his word to get things working but he also kept his original price quote. After talking to many electricians, I decided to go with Stark Electrical. I am glad I did. Josh did an incredible job adding a 220 and 110 volt line to our island kitchen. I had another contractor dig a trench in our slab from the island to the wall so Josh can install the new wiring, but the trench was not dug properly. Instead of making it into a big issue, Josh brought out his cement cutting tools and just fixed the problem on the spot. The added lines were put in with a lot of precision, the plan was well laid out and executed. The result is the highest level professional grade. After installing the wiring, Josh said to call him when our new island and appliances are installed. So, a month later I called and he came out right away to do the additional wiring from the island to each appliance. We tested the appliances together to make sure everything was working properly. I also had some non working outlets around the house caused by the other contractors using their tools. I asked Josh to look into it and he quickly found the source of the problem and fixed it. Everything is working perfectly now. I would without a doubt contact Josh again for any electrical problems or new installations. His rates are very reasonable and he is very knowledgeable and friendly. I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to this time. Highly recommended. read more

Josh was incredibly responsive and came out to our house on a Sunday to fix an issue with our oven. He spent an hour troubleshooting and replaced a breaker. Turns out the appliance was bad and there was not much more he could do. Asked him what I owed him and he was only going to charge for the cost of the breaker and not his labor. Josh came to install 4 ceiling fans for a house I just purchased in Brea. He arrived on time and was professional and polite. He took time to lay down plastic to keep things clean.
