Went prom dress shopping with my friend. At first no one helped us and we were looking in the front of the store at old lady dresses until a consultant finally came over and told us the prom dresses were upstairs. From then on the experience was very positive. She showed us where our sizes were and helped us get shoes and dressing rooms. They also helped us with the complicated dresses that were really hard and difficult to get on. Starlet offers a great dress registering service, so when you buy your prom dress, they won't sell that same dress in that color to someone else from your school. After we were done trying on the dresses we liked, a consultant wrote down the dress brand, style, and color on a little business card for us so we could remember which ones we liked for when we came back. Overall we had a good experience and I will definitely be purchasing my prom dress from there. read more

To begin with I choose Starlet bridal because I thought it would be a great experience. The first time I walked into the Boutique it was a great experience the owner even went to go buy a bottle of champagne I liked. I already had a dress in mind that I had seen online but I wanted to see it in person. As I was walking around the boutique I saw a dress I fell in love with. I tried the dress on and it was a great experience with the owner. I ordered the dress immediately because she said it would take a few months to arrive. Months later I received a voicemail that a veil I had ordered( but I never called to order) had arrived. I didn't pay much attention to the voicemail so I thought it was my dress that had arrived. A few weeks later I called to confirm that my dress had arrived and they said it was a veil I called in and ordered. It's still a mystery to who called and ordered the veil. After that I called again and asked when my dress was arriving, they said it was going to arrive later that week. After the dress arrived I called in to set an appointment to try on the dress so it can get altered because it was a few weeks before the wedding day. I arrived to my appointment, it was rushed very rude customer service. Nothing like the first time experience. The third time I went in was for a second fitting, also felt rushed you can feel It was not a good vibe. The forth time, I went in was the day to pick up the dress. I imagined it would be already steamed by the time I got there for my apt. I told front desk I was there for Azy who is wonderful. She made me try on my dress and walked around with it to make sure I wasn't going to be stepping on it.. one of urge girls said all she needed to do was steam it. I wanted the dress to be perfect, she said it would take 1 hour so she can let it cool. Another lady interups (wish I remembered her name) and says "oh no it's going to take 20 min 10 to stream and 10 to cool". What does this make you think? What kind of job are they going to do right? I went to grab something to eat while they steamed as i got back to boutique they were about to walk out the door. Good thing Azy was still there finishing the final details ironing it. I waited patiently, took dress home after it was done. Wedding day: immediately after wearing the dress for a few minutes I developed an allergic reaction. Wedding night: I was in the ER because the wedding dress had given an enormous amount of bumps all over my body. Week after wedding I am still on medication. . I called the boutique, left my information for owner to call me. They said she would be in Sunday. It's Tuesday & to this day no phone call. I just wanted to warn them so this doesn't happen to any more brides. 1st time was great experience, after they have your money customer service & attitude changes completely. read more

All I have to say is WOW! I went here with 10 days to spare with my wedding. My original dress from A Touch Of Class came in defective and they were refusing to give me my money back. When I started researching bridal shops this was with out a doubt the one I was looking forward to above all else. And dont get me wrong the initial appointment to find a dress was great. The woman (owner) I had helping me asked about my wedding and what was my dream dress, and responded with "I have your dress." I was ecstatic and felt like she knew me so personally (come to find out through many friends that she tells this to every single client to make them feel special as well) and so after the purchase of my dress I was comfortable and so happy to have found such a great bridal shop.now for the negative: I bought the dress in June of 2017, as someone who doesn't like to wait until last minute I wanted my dress ordered and ready for alterations as soon as possible. I was quoted 6-8 months before it would be in the shop and ready. 8 months later I ask Allison how the delivery was doing, if my dress was in. I was told "oh yes, it will be in in two weeks " two weeks later I ask again about the status of the dress, "one week out" she says. Another few weeks later i call and ask if it is in, "oh it hasn't made it to the states yet. It will be here in one week". So finally, a few weeks later, (by may of 2018) I drive down (four hours away from my home) and ask if it was in. The woman at the counter frantically looks around and says "we would have called you of it came in! It's not here!" So I talk to the owner and finally get her to call the warehouse and get it shipped. Long story short if you are looking to get your dress with reasonable time to alter and without a VERY RUDE alterations lady (Lina), go here for a great appointment but if you buy a dress, tell them your wedding is at least 6 months earlier than it is. read more

I shopped for a mother of the bride dress. The first dress I tried on was the one! Unfortunately it was way too small a size. Jill took my measurements and knew just which size to order. I wanted to let people know what a fabulous experience I had at Starlet Bridal. I had thought I would begin my dress shopping in April, but after some convincing from my mother I gladly accepted her advice to start now. I went with my best friend to Starlet Bridal, because I loved the designers and they had dresses similar to "the" dress I had in mind. Unfortunately for me, "the" dress is NOWHERE in California. I felt "Why not?" i'll make this appointment and see what's out there. I am so glad I did. My friend and i were welcomed warmly and happily by the staff. I instantly became excited and nervous and everything in between. We went through the store and picked out all sorts of dresses and they helped me get in and out of them. I have never seen that in real life, so this was definitely a moment where I couldn't be shy. Allie, my consultant, was amazing, friendly, helpful etc... I felt so comfortable with her and couldn't imagine having anyone else help me. After I tried on about 5-6 dresses it seems, all different styles, my best friend and Allie both pressured me (in a good way) to try on a different and unique dress that was on a mannequin. I didn't even think of trying it on, I think I glanced at it and just kept looking around the store. Allie put me in the dress and when I walked out of the dressing and room and looked in the mirror I thought I was about to faint. This girl knew what I needed. She somehow knew me. I cannot see myself in anything but this dress. They put the veil on me and i'm pretty sure I was about to faint. Then we got to play with jewelry and I got to walk around the store and I just felt perfect. I know I worried them though when I said I had to think about it. It's a big purchase, you know? But I didn't leave without my measurements being taken. I'm not rude, If I seriously thought that I really didn't want this dress I would have called to let them know. I know their time is precious. I didn't tell them, but I was dropping into another store after, I just needed to feel that let down...which holy crap I did. we left, had lunch, went to another store and I was depressed. I tried on one gown and felt like I was cheating on my dress! nothing could make me feel the way my gown did. I called them right away and bought my dress. Good thing I went in January, because my dress won't be here until June! I am so sad. I want to try it on every week and walk around my house in it. But I can wait. I really feel like the experience at Starlet made buying a dress even more special. I bought my wedding dress here back in November and I had a wonderful experience with them throughout the entire process, from buying the dress to picking it up for my wedding last week. The staff is incredibly friendly and were so helpful while I was trying on dresses to find the perfect one. Everyone was so wonderful and patient. Absolutely loved Starlet Bridal. I actually found my dress several years ago, but it was then discontinued. I was tempted to purchase a knock-off of the dress from China, but was convinced by my mom to purchase a real Maggie dress... So it was back to the stores trying on dresses, day after day. I found my dress at another store, in pink. I had another group of girls leave their bride to come tell me that it was the best dress that they had seen on me and they thought it was just gorgeous. Because it was pink it was really hard to tell if it was the ONE, so we continued to get together on weekends traveling to Concord and further south to visit large stores. It was finally getting to the time when I needed to order, so I had to find this dress in ivory. I found two stores in Sonoma County with the dress. The first store did not want me to come in for 10 minutes, just to try on the dress in the correct color. They tried to push a long appointment on me, but I insisted that I only had limited time since I work retail. Finally they allowed me to come in, but they made I a huge hassle for me to try on the dress. They had the dress marked at $200 more than any other shop I had been to. And they insisted that it needed to be rushed, since it was coming down to the wire. I left there and made an appointment for Starlet Bridal for the next evening. They were having a trunk show, and worked me in with all their previous appointments. The dress was just perfect, and I purchased it on the spot. They were accommodating to me and my stepdaughter. They had a promotion to get $100 off the veil or jewelry when you purchased that weekend, but since my mom had to visit my grandmother in the hospital, they honored the discount so that I could have help picking out the perfect veil. I came in a couple times to match my flower girl dresses and some flowers, each time they were super helpful and nice. They even let my mom try on all the various dresses she had purchased at different stores, and gave their honest opinion on which dress would work as a mother of the bride dress. The alterations were amazing as well. I was expecting to pay over $300 for the bustle alone (a friend who used to work at a bridal store said a French bustle is what I would want, and that it was $300, $100 more than other bustles) and it was way less than that! My alteration lady even knew that the French bustle would be the best for my dress. read more

I was on the hunt for certain dresses by David Tutera and their store was having a trunk show that also had the designer of these dresses! So cool! I called all the way from Orange County and Irene was so helpful with telling me what dresses they would have for the show by naming off EVERY style number to me. I don't recommend this place to anyone the dresses are overpriced and not the best quality. Owner and coworkers were very rude and unprofessional they began gossiping after we had left the room. Yelpers, I am not someone who posts, however, I feel the need to tell you about my experience. I am out of state, and came to SF looking for a gown on a certain weekend. I had hoped to find my dress on saturday, and went to SO MANY places in the city! I was bustled around, and hurried out after an hour. The dresses were gorgeous, but very pricey! My mother and guests enjoyed the experience, but there was no champagne, no cupcakes, no outstanding service. I was so suprised by that!! I ended up taking a suggestion of a friend who lives in the Santa Rosa area and called Starlet the morning before I had to catch a flight back out of state, I really wanted to nail down the dress on this particular weekend with my mom present! Anyways, I got a call back from them so quickly, right when they opened, welcoming me to the store for an appointment. Upon arival, I was greeted with a popped bottle of champagne, cupcakes, and a VERY welcoming and frindly woman, I belive the owner (brunette- Laurie?)! Anyways, she was extrememly helpful, she listened to me, but she also was not afraid to speak up and say we could do better. (Some people may not appreciate that, but I trusted that she knew the dresses and could see what would work for my body type.) We tried on about 4 or 5, after a day of about 20-30 in SF! I was so suprised, and absolutley fell in love with my dress. In fact, I almost didn't want to try it on, but she made me! And that was the one!! Seriously. I would never write on here unless I felt like other women would benefit from me running my mouth, and you really will. I got to hang out in the dress, take a thousand pictures, practice sitting, walking and try on heels and belts and veils. I was totally understanding when she left becasue I knew that SHE HAD FIT ME IN! I just walked around and enjoyed the moment until she came back, no stress for anyone. I left completely decked out and everythign is jsut the way I want it, seriously I wouldnt change a thing about the dress or the service. Starlet Bridal is a FABULOUS bridal boutique! I began my wedding dress search in San Francisco and visited several different bridal stores / boutiques and felt very depleted after each visit. The dresses were either too expensive for my budget or just not the "one". My mom recommended Starlet Bridal after hearing several great things about them from people around Sonoma County. At first I was apprehensive to travel all the way to Santa Rosa but that was short lived once I saw the store. The bridal gown selection was one of the best I have come across along with the pricing on the gowns, shoes, and accessories. After having an unpleasant experience at another bridal shop, I called other Sonoma county bridal shops late afternoon on a Saturday. Other shops were too busy or it was too late to try on dresses. With my Mom, daughter, and best friend I was thinking oh no- now I have to ask them to come shopping with me again and it took a month to get everyone together for this shopping expedition. I tried Maps on my iPhone one last time and called Starlet. They were so nice on the phone and even nicer in person. They were genuine, patient, and full of helpful advice. And bonus, as a short bride they had a line of gowns that fit where my waist and hips are just perfectly. They turned the day around and I LOVE my dress. Had a top-notch experience with Allison and her staff at Starlet from start to finish! I called their shop just 2 week before my event, looking for a specific dress I had found online. Starlet carried the designer, but the dress I wanted was a spring 2013 dress they weren't able to get in until January. Allison (owner) took it upon herself to call the designer (who she personally knew) and through her efforts, he was able to ship the dress direct from his factory, to her shop and then to me - all within 1 WEEK! I live several hundred miles away from Starlet, so all of this was done over the phone and through email. Allison kept me updated the entire time, called me with status reports and even inspected the dress and repacked it in delicate tissue paper before shipping it off to me! THIS is why small business trumps internet sales in my book :) The personal attention to my request, my questions and my needs was unexpected but GREATLY appreciated. I was apprehensive buying a $400 dress signt-unseen and having never tried it on, but the Starlet ladies provided me their knowledge of seeing this dress in person and Allison also guided me in the sizing process, ensuring that I had a dress that would fit when it arrived, because I did not have time to get it altered. I searched 3 different stores for my wedding gown: Brides and Maids, Starlet, and Wine Country Bride. Brides and maids was just alright. The consultant (who was a mature woman who appeared to know a lot about wedding dresses) was both covering the front of the store and the appointment at the same time. She was not able to clip me into the dresses I wanted to try because she was too busy with other customers. She wasn't able to help me select gowns because she was so preoccupied. However, I did find a dress I liked. At Wine Country Bride the consultant was extremely rude and not attentive. She basically led me into the dress area which consisted of hundreds if not thousands of dresses. She didn't help me pull dresses that were my budget. She was not helpful at all and just kind of stood there. When I did find dresses I was interested in, her clipping skills were really poor. She didn't make me feel comfortable being in my underwear in front of her. She did not seem to care to help me find a dress I liked. At Starlet the women are all extremely friendly and attentive. The store is ADORABLE, warm, and welcoming. It feels girly, and like a place generations of women have found their dream dress in. The owner Alison is a wedding dress guru in my opinion. She knows what she is talking about and how to size up a womans figure and see exactly the shape of dress she needs to look her best. She asked me what I was looking for (which was a keyhole back lace dress with buttons in the back), she advised me to try a little of everything and said she wasn't sure that kind of dress would look the best on me. She couldn't have been more right. I tried on the dress I had envisioned, and truthfully it just didn't look right. I looked bulky and the dress really aged me. She pulled a dress that was made for me. The shape of the dress, cut, and style suited me better than anything I could have imagined. I was between sizes when I ordered and Alison used great judgement in helping me order. The dress fits like a glove and couldn't look more beautiful. It is my dream dress. The young consultants at Starlet are extremely friendly, sweet, and professional. I was so comfortable with everyone there. I have brought in coffee everytime I have come in there, they have always been nice about it. They just don't want you sipping it at the same time you are handling WHITE WEDDING GOWNS! Placing coffee on a table before you rifle through expensive dresses seems like a pretty reasonable and civilized move. Disgusted and disrespected is the best way to start. I had been in twice prior to try dresses, and the staff was very kind and helpful. The owner herself is a different story. I had been warned by many how rude, condescending and disrespectful the owner is but I feel you need to give everyone a chance and go in with a positive outlook. I wish I hadn't. When I called to see if they had a particular dress, not only did she speak to me like I'm a child, she suggested the following: A. I could travel to NEW YORK to see if someone there has the dress B. I'm your typical "bump on a log" bride and don't put forth energy to being the center of attention. My mom from Sacramento, my fiancée, and I went shopping in Montgomery Village. We had made an appointment at the big bridal store off Cleveland but ended up cancelling immediately after walking into Starlet. My plan all along was to get in and get out. I didn't have an appointment but thought "worst they can say is no" and walked in. There were 2 other bridal parties smiling, enjoying champagne and pretty desserts and the store was a sea of beautiful gowns you can't get at Macy's - for mother of the bride as well! (Mom picked one that she said was more stunning than her wedding dress). Allison instantly greeted me and invited my group to take the last bride podium/sofa area to get the full experience as they had a cancellation. She asked when my wedding was, when I told her "1 month" she smiled and said "No problem." Madeline (old soul for such a young lady) helped me in and out of multiple dresses and I unexpectedly enjoyed that goosebump moment you hear brides say when they say "yes" to their dress. They connected me to the legendary Lina for tailoring, who is brilliant to say the least. One more thing. I had booked my appointment with Lina before my floor model dress was back from cleaning. Starlet had told me to wait until I had heard from them that my dress was back to book Lina. I MESSED UP. We all showed up and I felt awful for wasting Lina's time, but Lina didn't bat an eye and took measurements, brainstorming final embellishments with me. Before we left, Allison gave us a gift wrapped bottle of Sofia Coppola champagne and apologized - it was MY MISTAKE, but Starlet understands perception is everything. read more

Had a bridal appointment there for myself and my bridesmaids and that appointment of trying on dresses was fine. I didn't end up ordering a wedding dress from them, but my bridesmaids all found dresses that they liked. They ordered them and I got a call saying that they needed to be rushed to ensure they would be there in time for the wedding and that they would cover the cost. Come to find out that each lady was charged this fee and it was not covered as they said. I was told they would be in first week of May, I called and was told they would be there Tuesday or Wednesday. Those days came and went called and said maybe next week. When the dresses finally came in, one of the dresses was not even the correct style and they didn't even acknowledge that they made a mistake just said that was what was ordered. It was frustrating to me that they didn't compensate or make up for a mistake that they made. They said they could alter but they couldn't guarantee that it would got correctly and it would be an additional fee. It's not like these were cheap dresses either. read more

Probably the most disrespectful workers ever. They made my best friend feel like crap about the dresses she picked out because she keeps ordering offline instead of picking from their in store collection which happens to be very limited. I have never bought a prom dress from here personally but witnessing my best friend be talked down to as if she was stupid for purchasing dresses online made me furious. She settled for a dress in store since they won't give her back her original deposit on a dress she ordered online so she's stuck at starlet or goes somewhere else and looses her $150 down payment. Not accommodating at all. I will never recommend getting dresses from here to anyone. read more
