First, I want t address Jacquie H. review in regards to Irene at Starlet Bridal. I personally feel that Jacquie H. is blowing the whole incidence out of proportion and being a bit dramatic in telling her story. Instead of telling the truth, which I believe that Jacquie is use to having instant satisfaction and people waiting on her hand and foot, everything is about Jacquie and well I hate to say this, but use to being a spoiled brat. We all know that every bride who get engaged is so excited to try on her dress with her friends and family around. I can only imagine how excited Jacquie must have been to try on dresses with her closest friends and how disappointing it must have been to just show up and not be instantly waited on, or actually realizing that this is the busiest time in the season to get married and yes, other people come before Jacquie. We all get our turn and we must be PATIENT, KIND AND COURTEOUS to those who are WILLING and when they are ABLE to help, i.e Irene. I really don't understand why Jacquie had to throw such a toddler fit regarding waiting for 10 minutes and how much her budget was for her dress. Tells me that she is spoiled and mommy and daddy are paying for everything, no independence as far as I can see. EVERYONE at Starlet Bridal are kind, warm and always willing to help. Sometimes, yes they are busy, but they always glance your way at some point give you a smile and try to find someone to help you. I too was told that Saturdays were busy, so that's why I chose the weekday to have my time with my friends and family trying on dresses. Irene has such a wonderful eye and positive listening skills that she found my dress on the first pick. Every time I go in, they are more than helpful and yes busy, but that's because they show every bride that they are the most important thing and they really take the time in helping you find the perfect dress. So, Jacquie H. if you are reading this, trying telling the truth sometimes instead of blowing waiting for "10 minutes" story out of proportion, adding false information (highly doubt that Irene said any of those things you stated she did) and throwing yet another toddler fit here on line, just to make yourself feel inferior. Try having more empathy and understanding and than you will see how the universe will treat you back. read more

Wish I could give 10 Stars! I was a young chubby girl when I first walked in here my senior year of high school. Nothing had ever fit me; I was mainly here for my tall skinny friends who were looking for prom dresses. The owner of the store, Allison was so incredible, she insisted that I try something on, and told me that I COULD and WOULD find a dress that made me feel beautiful. She was right; I walked out of that store with my head held high. I had the most amazing pink sequin prom gown, and IT FIT! They have sizes 00-30 AMAZING! Now going on 6 years later I was in search of a wedding gown! I knew where I was going! Starlet! I (with the same insecurities) walked into that salon, with the same girlfriends I had many years before! We didn't have an appointment, but Jill the Manager of the Bridal salon said it would not be a problem at all. She worked me into her very busy day with ease. She got me right in to an open spot with her daughter Amanda! Sweetest thing on earth! To say I had a fantastic experience here would be an understatement. I found the dress of my dreams, the one I had been thinking about since I was 6 years old. I only tried on 2 before I knew I had found it! I came back a few weeks later with my Mama, and family. The ladies at the salon were so happy to see me, I felt like adopted family! It's been six month since my wedding and I visit my Starlet family at least twice a month. Several of my friend have also gotten there gowns here, we have all had the best time being treated like queens! One thing I really appreciate about these ladies is that they keep it real. If they don't think something will be flattering on you, they will tell you, THANK YOU! Please don't tell a fat girl she will look fabulous in a mermaid style wedding gown, because it's not true! They know that people want to look their best on their big day, which is why they work here. To make dreams come true! Happy thoughts are all I have about this place! I had an appointment on the 14th of September to look at a wedding dress which I almost cancelled but didn't. I felt silly thinking about our wedding when we had just lost so much. With my parents house and ours gone because of the Valley Fire I wasn't sure what, if anything, we would be able to afford. It just felt nice to get away and think about something pleasant. My mom, soon to be mother-in-law, and I arrived at Starlet Bridal & Prom for my appointment. Prior to trying on the dress, we talked about the tragedy of the fire and how I almost cancelled the appointment. I tried on my first dress. When I came out of the dressing room, I was surprised to see everyone crying. I thought I can't look that bad - lol. I was then told that my dress would be complimentary and to choose whichever dress I liked! I was shocked and then started to cry as well! I found my favorite dress and it was perfect. While in the dressing room, they had called all of their vendor friends. They were able to provide a photographer, hair dresser, makeup artist, ER Sawyers wedding band, alterations to the dress, a florist, tuxedo rental, party rentals, a harpist, a wedding cake, yoga before the wedding to de-stress, and so much more...as their friends continue to offer their help and services. I'm still in shock at the kindness and generosity from total strangers. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of the wonderful staff at Starlet - Allison, Irene, and everyone else. I ONLY bought dresses from starlet in high school no matter what the occasion... Homecoming, Prom, Father Daughter dance, and Graduation. The staff was helpful, and honest. I appreciated their honesty when shopping, thanks to their expertise I never had any problems finding a dress and feeling absolutely beautiful in it. They were even patient with me while i spent over an hour in the same 2 dresses trying to decide! They make it a priority to do all they can to get every girl the perfect prom dress, they will go above and beyond to get them what they need. The selection is great, dresses, shoes jewelry its a one stop shop! They register your dress to your high school, so you know you will be the only one in that dress at your event. This is was BEST service they could have provided, it really made everyone feel special and you never had to worry about the awkward moment walking into prom and seeing 3 girls with the same dress on in the same color. i loved that. I worked a lot with starlet as one of their promettes in 2010 as a senior, not only was it so much fun to be able to wear amazing gowns in photo shoots and bridal shows but i met the most amazing young women from all over the county and made friendships and memories i will have for a lifetime. I cant say enough good things about starlet prom and bridal. Now that my prom days are over, i cant wait until i can go back and by my wedding dress from the girls at starlet. After having an unpleasant experience purchasing a dress for my son's August wedding at Wine Country Bridal shop, which I had to return, I arrived at Starlet in a panic. Being a plus size and the wedding only a month away, I was in a state of panic that I wouldn't be able to order a dress and have it altered in time for the wedding. I was immediately greeted by Irene who assured me that they could find me the perfect dress and have it ready for the wedding. Since they only had a couple of dresses in my size at the store, the owner of the store, Ali (I believe that's her name) immediately got involved and also reassured me that they would have the perfect dress for me ready for the wedding. They immediately set about researching what dresses in my size were available for a quick delivery time. Not only did they give me several choices to choose from but they found me a gorgeous, elegant dress in time for the wedding. Once the dress arrived at the shop, their seamstress, Azi, had the dress fitting perfectly and altered within a few days. Starlet Bridal has an exceptional staff who I feel, went above and beyond my expectations. They literally "saved the day" for what could have been a huge disaster. They let me get my bridesmaid's dress altered here with their seamstress. I needed some significant alterations done and they were on par with the average cost for a seamstress. And fyi review from 2010... Usually alterations are not free, it is very rare unless its the fault of the shop.Sure some shops offer free alterations but they are very minimal. They aren't giving for a free 5.5 to 6 hours alterations session.So yes its a big deal if you do get any refund on alterations. I also got my wedding dress from here and would highly recommend, Disregard the comments below. The owner knows her job better than a customer would, she is helpful and doesn't force you into something you hate or phone stalk you for a sale like other bridal shops in town. PS if you are looking for something hard to find wedding dress shopping is very draining. I had another shop in the piner area, call me 4 times over a month to try and sell me a single bridesmaids dress I was looking for. I also got my 1st anniversary dress here and it was a smooth transaction. Lina did the alterations and it came out perfect. I am sad to see that so many great reviews are hidden just because people don't have enough friends. It's a shame. I know nothing is perfect but it can be close if you are understanding of how this industry works. read more

Let me say first that I am writing a 5 star review as a 4 star because Yelp filters ALL of the 5 stars and leaves the negative reviews. I was worried that those bad ones might make future brides not want to come to this beautiful location! I have to say that everyone in the store is friendly and upbeat. I was just cruising through (since I had seen in the Press Democrat that they have moved) and wanted to see what it looks like now. WOW! They have so much more room and I can't wait to see what the upstairs looks like when it is put together for Prom. When I popped in to say hello and look around, I was greeted by friendly staff instantly (Even though they were busy working with other brides and customers). I overheard that they are expecting new dresses and that they are being made. Can't wait to see what they look like!! I refer all of my friends and family here because of ambiance, friendly staff and gorgeous dresses. I hope that everyone goes in to Starlet at least once to see what a Bridal Salon should be like! This place is awesome! The ladies here were so helpful and went out of their way to make our bridal gown experience "the best". Allison was so helpful in selecting gowns even though my daughter wasn't really sure what style of gown she was looking for. We did have an appointment, and my mother, I and other daughter (bridesmaid) were seated and served cookies and pink lemonade. When I inquired about champagne, they had just opened their last bottle. We happily drank the lemonade, but within 15 minutes one of the girls brought us a bottle of champagne (the owner had ran out and bought more). After trying on a few gowns, my daughter came out in a beautiful "Mon Cheri Enchanting" gown. As she swirled around for all of us to see, she kept running her hands over the dress. Meagan who was helping her laughed and said "That is your dress" and it did turn out to be "The Dress". Allison noticed that she was wearing her fiance's dog tags and offered us a 10% Military discount, which we were very honored that they respected what our servicemen & women do for our country. I LOVE this store. There is honestly no other place like it in northern California, and every time I need a formal dress, this is my go-to place. Let me explain my personality a little bit first- I am very very picky and very indecisive. I started shopping at Starlet while I was in high school, and the sales associates were always so patient with me and my lack of decision making. Every dance and formal event that called for a beautiful dress, meant that I'd be going back to Starlet to get one. The best part was that I could always find something in my price range, and when I couldn't pay it all up front, I could put the dress on layaway (and I could come visit it anytime I wanted). I just recently came back to Starlet to pick up a dress for my boyfriend's college graduation, and once again it took forever for me to make a decision. The whole time I had Allison and Amanda helping me make choices and narrow down my selection. I finally found a beautiful Jovani dress that I just love, and it will be perfect for the graduation. I went looking for my wedding dress last year, and stumbled across Starlets after a horrible experience elsewhere. I came in and loved the warm friendly faces and beautiful relaxing atmosphere. I made myself an appointment and came back with my mother and sister. After explaining my budget and what I was looking for, they escourted me around and gave me all time I needed to browse. After trying on all the wrong dresses one of the consultants politely asked me if I would try on a dress that I maybe hadnt asked for, but was still within my price budget. After trying it on I knew "this was it!"! A few months later after my dress had arrived, I walked into the store they remembered me by name, first and last, and welcommed me back before I could even say a word. I was blown away and I cant give them enough kudos!!! They even let me hang around in the store after my appt time just to be in my dress. The store itself is beautiful! Even my sister was impressed with how it looked; she claimed it reminded her a little bit of Cinderella. The store is clean, classy and overall beautiful.They have a variety of dresses, from vibrant and bold animal prints, to modern and stylish dresses for high school girls. Plus their shoes are TO DIE FOR! Again, a wide variety of shoes that range from heel size, color, sparkles, gems and patterns. The staff is wonderful, they're definitely one of a kind! They're service is spectacular and every time I have walked in, a staff member would be helping someone find their perfect dream dress. It made me smile just watching other girls walk out of the store happy. The first time I walked in I was greeted with smiles and a big hello asking if I needed any help finding anything. They are also extremely knowledgeable and they really will ensure that your dress is perfect for whatever occasion! Starlet Bridal has been absolutely WONDERFUL! The atmosphere is lovely- friendly, open, and classy, without feeling stiff or over the top. Initially I visited many of the local dress shops, and none came close to comparing to Starlet, in terms of dress selection, atmosphere, and the helpfulness of the staff. Allison, the owner of Starlet, is absolutely wonderful. She answered SO MANY of our questions, not just about dresses, but the entire wedding planning process. I found the gown at Starlet Bridal!!! Allison, Irene, and Madison were all SOOOOOOOO helpful......SOOOOOOOO patient.....and SOOOOOOOOO informative! I was able to visit the salon THREE times and never felt any sort of pressure.....I was able to try on all types of silhouettes and get some suggestions from the staff (that were all very helpful) and real explanations of the pro's and con's of particular styles, fabrics, and brands. Additionally, they actually have dress samples on the floor ABOVE a size 10!!!! As a "street size 12" that was paramount!!!! (Trying to squeeze into a bridal 10 does not allow any sort of proper perspective on a dress and is incredibly discouraging!!!) All of the ladies were VERY helpful and I was very impressed and appreciated the help! Once I found my dress, I was able to select the bridesmaid dresses there was well, and I couldn't be happier! I love Starlet. If you need a dress for prom, homecoming or even sorority formals, Starlet is the place to go. My daughter and I have been Starlet shoppers for over four years now. We have purchased short dresses for homecoming and long dresses for prom and have been thrilled with every purchase. Each dress was unique, well made and made my daughter feel like a million bucks. My daughter especially loved the fact that they record the dress so that you know no one else will have that same dress from your school and I love the fact that I could always find something within my price range. Starlet was the second place that I went to after leaving the first bridal boutique in tears! From the moment I walked in it was the best experience. With only 2 months to plan my destination wedding I was pretty stressed out! My consultant Amanda was the best! She helped me pick out dresses and I purchased my dress right off the rack. I had my tween daughters and soon to be step daughters as brides maids, but was having a hard time finding dresses that wouldn't be too young looking and also appropriate for their ages. Amanda suggested we get the same bride maids dresses and alter them. It all worked out perfectly and also in a timely manner. I had a great time with Allison in Starlet bridal. I had gone to a few other bridal shops in town and the associates/owners didn't want you to touch or look through the dresses. One location even had an older man helping me with styles and sizes. No offense to men, but for my wedding dress it is wierd and uncomfortable having a man help. Anyway, Allison was great! She made me feel comfortable, had me pick out a bunch of different dress styles to try on and if they did't have it in my size they fashioned the dress to work just enough so that you could check out the style on your body type. Jill was also wonderful, keeping me up to date on the progress of the dress arival date. Starlet rocks! I would be happy to recommend all my friends and family to this location!!! I was helping my girlfriend search for the perfect wedding gown. After countless hours spent at every shop imaginable we finally came upon Starlet Bridal. I wish it had been our first stop because it would have been our only one. An absolutely adorable boutique with a friendly and knowledgeable staff, Amanda was so helpful with what style gowns might suit my girlfriend best. She was spot on. I love their attention to detail and that they carry hard to find gowns. Probably one of the only shops that you can actually get away with buying the samples because they are PRISTINE! The gowns are presented in an accessible fashion and the variety was unbeatable. I was with my future daughter in law at Starlet Bridal, It was wonderful! Everything we could have asked for. The shop is beautiful and relaxing. That's really important, after all it can be stressful looking for that perfect dress. The consultants, Amanda and Whitney were great. Their easy manner and smiling faces made the process so simple! We found the perfect dress in our budget. I was was not sure what to expect in the price ranges, but the store has gowns for just about everyone. We found dresses from $800.00 to $4000.00.
