I genuinely thought every girl who helped me was sweet and professional. My issue is with the product and the results. I purchased a package of three spray tans. After my first session, I loved how it looked when I left, but once it developed, I looked extremely orange. Like Donald Trump Orange.... I couldn't even wait very long before booking my second session because I wanted to fix it. At my second appointment, I explained that I didn't like how orange I became. I've only had spray tans done in Miami before this, and I've never had this issue. I was told we'd try a different solution or method. During that visit, I also ended up purchasing a $45 tan remover and exfoliating mitt because it was recommended for my next appointment. Looking back, I don't really feel like I needed it, and I honestly felt a little pressured into buying it. It's still sitting unused. Unfortunately, my second spray tan was even worse. It was sticky, developed with noticeable streaks, and I looked orange again. It was so bad that I showered it off within an hour because I couldn't stand how it looked. When I came back for my third session, I had the same technician who did my first tan. I explained everything that happened during my second visit. She mentioned that my clothing may have contributed to the streaking, so I followed all of her recommendations and wore loose clothing afterward. She also told me we'd use an espresso solution so I wouldn't turn orange this time. The application itself was great. It wasn't sticky, and she did a beautiful job applying it. But once it developed, I was orange AGAIN. At that point, I realized this just isn't the right product for my skin tone. I'm Latina with olive skin, and I tan naturally very well. I was looking to become darker version of myself like healthy, bronzed glow. Instead, every time the tan developed, it leaned orange on me, and I was unhappy with the result. That's why I'm leaving a 2-star review. Honestly would've let a 1 star review for the tan and products but gave an extra star because how nice were the employees. They were all genuinely kind and tried to help. But after three different sessions, three opportunities to adjust the process, and multiple conversations about my concerns, I still ended up with the same result. Maybe these products work great for other skin tones, and that's reflected in the many positive reviews. But if you have an olive or naturally tan complexion like mine, I think it's important to know that your experience may be different. I considered reaching out privately instead of leaving a review, but after three appointments, I'm not really sure what the solution would be. Another spray tan would likely give me the same outcome. I spent money on a package, additional products, and multiple appointments, only to end up removing the tan because I didn't like how orange it looked. I truly appreciate how kind everyone at the salon was, and I wish I had a better experience. I just think there may be a gap in either the product selection or the approach for clients with olive skin tones, and I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.

They wasted my time, caused unnecessary stress, and showed no accountability or courtesy. Thankfully, I was able to find an amazing spray tan artist in North Park at the last minute who completely saved the day. I would absolutely not recommend this business based on my experience.

Two years later and I finally make time to write a review for Star because I no longer have to look for anybody else. My hair is dark brown almost black. First time I went to her I was so scared of my previous experience that I only had her do a couple highlights. I ask for bright blonde please no orange no brass. I received as asked, but I still didn't fully trust her. Second time I had her do half crown and that was it for me. I constantly get compliments and I wake up feeling good with my hair color. I wouldnt look any further if your looking for someone to dye or style your hair. Went to Heather a little over a month ago and went great, really loved her, I even referred my best friend to her, Who she canceled on at the last minute. She mentioned she had bad reviews due to covid but I'm here to tell you IT'S NOT COVID. This chick is a HOTMESS, DUMPSTER FIRE, SHITSHOW and not only needs deep therapy but medication as she is a disaster. I made a 2nd appointment and guess what, she canceled last f-ing minute #1) Saying she had her period, Heather don't ever use the period excuse to another woman as we all have periods. It's not the 1900's we have modern medicine and I used to have bad periods myself. It's treatable. Reschedule anyway thinking its a one time thing. GUESS WHAT IT WASN'T #2) Canceled again last minute said my hair color didn't come in, UM duh there is a beauty supply on every corner. So then I wondered how would you of done my hair on the first appt if you didn't have the color. So which is it Heather period or no color. But I'm an idiot and rescheduled again as I had a big Memorial Weekend coming up and really needed my hair done. GUESS WHAT SHE CANCELS AGAIN FOR A THIRD TIME #3) Cancels again last minute saying she forgot her friend died. WTF who forgets their friend died. Then she sends me the Instagram post of her friend and in fact died May 9th, it's the 25th girl get your stories straight as you are not even a good liar. #4) Like an idiot I reschedule for a 4th time, then she has the odacity to tell me I should wait until June as my hair isn't healthy enough to do what I wanted. WTF your just telling me this now when I'm desperate to get my hair done and it's too late to find someone else?? Lets get real we all get excited to get our hair done just to get let down over and over by this hotness, disaster of a woman. REMEMBER WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO YOU THAT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THE REVIEWS ABOUT HEATHER BAKER ARE 100% REAL!!! BASICALLY THIS WOMAN DOESN'T WANT TO WORK AND MAKES UP EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK NOT TO WORK.

From my first visit, I thought, "wait, this could The One!" First, she's super nice and genuine (you know, the authentic Midwest type!). Second, she knows what she's doing (11 years of experience)! Third, she's very reasonably priced ($40 haircut, $70 partial highlights, etc). Cherry on top for those of us who are busy working professionals: You can book online or by text, and she has night and Saturday appointments. Go see her. You'll be glad you did.

The inside of the salon is clean and inviting. They offer refreshments, which is something I've never experienced at a salon, and it's big enough inside so you don't feel cramped. Finding parking wasn't too hard, although you might want to make sure you show up early on the weekend. David is a master at his craft and it shows in his work. When I told him I wanted my sides taken down to a 4 or 5, he told me he doesn't use those attachments but could do it with a pair of scissors. Not only did he deliver, but this is the best my hair has looked in years. If quality is something you look for, be sure to schedule an appointment with David. For those looking for a little more, he's also a colorist.

The staff is lovely, the lighting is wonderful with lots of natural light coming in that reflects off the giant mirrors, and it is decorated with simple yet beautiful details They have various snacks available (which is clutch when you've been in the salon all day). Model Call does nails, facials, and massages on top of all the hair services. Now let me gush over Peter. Like I said, I've been with him for over a decade. I think only 2 people have touched my hair in that time (one was a girl who needed a model and the other was when I lived in NY and needed my color done before a wedding, but I flew back to SD to have it cut). Peter is a true artist. He gives such attention to details. His cuts last for ages without losing shape and his color is so pretty and multi-tonal. I constantly get asked who does my hair and receive compliments. In fact, ive had a handful of friends start using him as well! If you are looking for a new stylist, Peter is it!!!
