The place is literally crawling with kids, kids getting their diapers changed out in the open, etc. They have live music which is nice but I wish they validated parking. Beer selection was great and bar service was very quick. Bathrooms large and clean. No indoor area so when a summer rainstorm comes everyone rushes to take the elevators and the wait may be long. Good drinks, just don't watch a game here. 30 minutes until closing time, they turned off one of the most anticipated college football games of the season (Alabama-UGA) with probably 45 seconds left in the game. Got told to leave 5 minutes before closing time with half a beer left. Went to close my tab at 11:55 and was told they shut off the system and I got charged automatic gratuity. Children and leashed pets are welcome Starr Hill offers a large outdoor sports oriented TV screen with live music serenading the guests. Food and drink (not just beer) options are aplenty. I have been a fan of Star Hill brewing and was happy to hear that they were opening this nearby site. The location is very interesting; they are located in a corner of rooftop park in Capital One's Tysons campus. The view is interesting. Their operation is outdoors. They have outdoor tables; some are under cover. There's a walk up counter for customers to place their orders. They have a large selection of Star Hill brews and also offer cocktails and wine. They have a limited food menu. The wine is available only in cans. I was disappointed that they did not offer flights that would allow tasting of several beers. I had a glass of Roxanne, a berry sour. It was ok. We shared a bean burger and fries. Both were fine but not extraordinary. The items were a bit pricey. Parking is available in the garage in the building. Normally you have to pay for more than an hour; I didn't see and neglected to ask if they validated parking tickets for longer stays. I won't be rushing back but may return infrequently to sample seasonal beers. I'd be much more interested if they offered flights so multiple beers could be sampled. read more

Huge variety of beers. Great atmosphere. I came here this past Saturday and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The food, drinks, and total vibe make this place overall a great experience to mingle with friends. There is a stage with some live music playing when I came, and after he was finished- they showed college football which was nice as well. The drinks were well priced. There could be more of a variety with the food ( nothing gluten free). Shoe string fries were good but typical of bar food. I love the outdoor games they supplied and open green area. However, you couldn't take your alcohol over to the jenga, bocci, and chess area. Or even the open grass area by the swings. Hopefully in the future this will change. Parking is in the wegman's parking lot and free only for the first hour. I should have inquired about validating parking, but forgot. read more

Hip new spot on top of the Watermark Hotel (at the Perch). Great selection of beer, both canned and draft, and they even have liquor for shots! Only downside is the menu, though not small, food is just your very basic bar food. Now that the weather is chilly, would have appreciated more heat lamps. We were at a table not under one and it was freezing after an hour. Navigation is simple, park in the garage with Wegmans - first hour is free, then goes up from there. It can get pretty crowded, but they are pretty efficient with collecting orders and we didn't wait too long for our drinks. Starr Hill Biergarten is located extremely close to where we live. What a blessing. We came here a couple of times during the summer when it was nice out. Beautiful space, good beer and good prices. There's a ton of events going on so check the calendar but we really enjoy grabbing drinks here. The parking lot is the same as the wegmans. For some events they charge for parking which is a pain but on a regular day you can park and just buy something at wegmans to get validated parking. Dog friendly, outdoor concerts and now even a mini golf there. Great space and a nice addition to the area! read more

A cool rooftop brewery in the Tysons area. They have a large selection of beers/drinks and the staff was very friendly. I got The Love which is their wheat, and thought it was great and refreshing. The number of tables is limited but there's a lot of space to just sit and walk around. There's live music, cornhole, and other games which is fun One of my friends ordered a burger and fries, and it was one of the smallest burgers I have ever seen. I didn't get to take a picture of it but it reminded me of a slider from White Castle. I could've eaten it in one bite. And it was $14. So the food is expensive But other than that I think it's still worth checking out for their large drink selection and the fun atmosphere read more

A very unusual spot, and extremely popular, even when it's 108 in the shade, or a bitter cold late October day (I've been there in both extremes). They usually have free live music and the beer is...well, Starr Hill is one of the original Virginia craft breweries. They're still around for a reason. This place, and the whole "perch" complex at Capital One Center, has something for everyone. But do get there early if you want a table - especially if the weather forecast is good. read more

Wonderful idea, terrible execution. Location is beautiful, food is pretty close to inedible & expensive, very few drink options. Most importantly - what the effing frick is wrong with the psycho bartender with a beard & wearing a tye-dye shirt last night? I went up to the bar where two of my friends were getting drinks. I was only talking to them and didn't request a drink or interact with the bartender at all, but he started to aggressively reprimand me for "cutting the line" angrily asking "DID YOU JUST COME FROM THE BACK OF THE LINE? GO BACK!!!" I realized he thought I was skipping the line, which he has absolutely no reason to believe - but even if I WAS doing that is it really that serious? I said I wasn't trying to get a drink several times and he just kept going. It was pretty embarrassing & unwarranted. All of my friends and a couple strangers were stunned and asked if I wanted a drink bc they felt bad for me. If this man has ever received a tip in his life I hope he uses it towards therapy, where he can discuss the likely feelings of worthlessness that lead him to crave authority & dominance to the extent that he'll yell at random women about a line. If you come to this location, bring a large bag with snacks & drinks lol. read more
