My daughter had her first college bowling tournament at Stars & Strikes over the weekend so I drove to Raleigh to support her. With it being a tournament, the lanes were reserved for the college teams but there was plenty of room for all of the players in the bowling area. As I walked around, I was impressed with how large the bowling alley was. The bar area was also a nice size with seating all around it and the arcade area was very spacious, they even had an indoor bumper car area. I noticed two party rooms and I loved how they had an eating area called CJ's Tavern for those that wanted to sit and eat, away from the bowling area. I believe I was most impressed by the robotic machine delivering the food to the guests in the additional bowling area. How cool and innovative! Overall, my daughter and her team did well, along with the other teams and if they have another tournament here, I will gladly return.

I recently visited the new Stars & Strikes location in Concord while celebrating my daughter's birthday with family in Charlotte. It's only right that we visited our neighborhood location also! We enjoyed her birthday party so much that we had to return to end our holiday weekend with a bang. This location is a lot smaller than Concord however it's just as spacious, clean and home to wonderful employees. The staff were pleasant and very well mannered and working hard. My daughter played for less than an hour and scored so many points she was able to take home lots of prizes from the Winner's Circle. The quality of the prizes are great here and the arcade in very similar to Dave & Busters. My daughter was able to hit the jackpot on the Monster ball drop game and as always we enjoyed playing the classic Stinky Feet water spray race game. They offer bowling here and laser tag of course. They also have a dining area called CJ's. We will try dining next visit. Can't wait to come back for some fun.

Had our granddaughters birthday party here and the kids all had a blast. Bowling in the VIP was cool, they have different packages and hers included pizza and drinks, 1 1/2 hours of bowling, laser tag and bumper cars. The kids all got tickets for games and everyone seemed to enjoy. The pizza was not good, but the adult beverages at the bar were surprisingly good! Staff were friendly and place was clean and I liked the gaming area as it was spread out nicer than other places I've been to.

A new family fun center offering bowling, laser tag, bumper cars and arcade up on Capital Boulevard! Stopped in on their opening day and was pretty impressed. Restaurant to the left, a couple of private party rooms and bar to the right. 24 bowling lanes total and then the arcade and laser tag-bumper cars area. If I were a tween, I'd be pretty happy here! Beer prices are fine along with the arcade game prices. They've got some very cool motorcycle race games, a full size Pop-a-shot along with some other large games of skills. And yes, you earn tickets at the games so you can turn them in and get some crap! Ahh, I mean prizes! Overall a decent spot in a somewhat sketchy plaza. Your mileage may vary but if you live in the hood and have kids, it's worth a visit!

What a cool place! Massive arcade surrounded by a restaurant, bar, 2 bowling alleys, laser tag annnnnd bumper cars. They even have some decent options in the prize area instead of just the typical junk. Laser tag was pretty big and so fun! Food options looked super limited and unappealing, so we didn't eat. Drink prices were pretty high, $15 for a shot of Patron, BUT - every single staff member was above and beyond friendly! The amazingly friendly staff was worth the high drink prices! Cannot wait to go back. Also, we go to a whole lot of arcades, and this was one of the cleaner ones I've been to, even for visiting on a busy weekend night.

Frankie's Review - 3/5…read more While in town, we decided to visit Frankie's after it was recommended to me by my boss, and this time I had my husband and 12-year-old son with me. Overall, it was a nice way to spend time together as a family and gave us something fun to do during our visit. Frankie's offers a good variety of attractions, and my son especially enjoyed the rides, including the claw, roller coaster, and zero gravity experience. We also played putt-putt golf, which was enjoyable, though I personally found the course a bit less challenging than similar places I've visited before. The road course was also on the shorter side, but still fun for what it offered. One thing I would note is that the pricing felt a bit high, particularly for the arcade games and rides, especially considering some of the experiences are fairly brief. We also found the pizza to be a little overpriced, so we chose other food options as well as their burger and Philly cheesesteak. Unfortunately, one part of the experience that stood out in a less positive way was the customer service around some of the attractions. Several of the attendants seemed very nonchalant and disengaged, almost as if they were not very happy to be there. That kind of energy can affect the overall atmosphere and, for me, made it less likely that I would return or recommend it. We also had to wait for attendants to assist with some of the more interactive 3D-style games, which interrupted the flow of the experience. That being said, one of my personal favorites ended up being the carnival 3D shooting game, even though we did have to wait for an attendant before we could play. Once we got on, it was definitely one of the more enjoyable parts of the visit for me. On the positive side, it was not crowded during our visit, which made the experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed spending time in the arcade with my family, and that ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. I also want to mention our experience in the bar area with Olivia Jackson, who provided such warm and pleasant service. She was courteous, attentive, and truly showed genuine Southern hospitality. Her kindness and professionalism made us want to stay longer, and we ended up enjoying our food and family time even more because of her. She was definitely one of the bright spots of our visit. Overall, while I have visited similar entertainment venues that I personally enjoyed more, Frankie's still provided a decent family outing and a different experience while we were in town. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.

The place is huge and great for big social gatherings. I had high hopes when I first got inside but got quite disappointed with the food. I wanted to love the Mushroom Al Pastor tacos, but they're too salty. I found myself reaching for water after almost every bite. I asked for more limes and the ones I got seemed to have been sitting on the bar counter for a while, not freshly cut at all. The menu says it's supposed to have cilantro and charred pineapple salsa. Interesting, I didn't taste any. My friend who opted for the Chips and Salsa said that wasn't good either. Too bad!

The ambience with the bowling and other games was great but no staff person helped us understand or introduced the options. Also several areas were corded off for two private events. The drink wall was almost empty, the fountain sodas were inoperable and the kitchen was closing early on a Sunday night. The staff also used tape to cover 1/4 of the menu items as unavailable. Pagers for food did not work. It was as if the restaurant had just opened and was experiencing new location jitters. Food was ok, drinks were marginal and service poor. I won't return.

The electronic scoring and automatic bumper bowling are convenient features and staff is always at the ready when a slow-pitched ball from a little one doesn't quiiite make it all the way. The food is what you might expect and there are a decent amount of choices from pizza and wings to French toast and nachos. Little Mister is a fan of the French toast and you have the option of ordering it with either cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar. Well, I suppose you could order it without any sugar at all since you can dip it right into the glorious liquid sugar called maple syrup. Or maybe it is high fructose corn syrup that tastes enough like maple syrup to pass with flying colors. The nachos are sufficiently okay. They get soggy under the cheese, and the chicken is flavorful but nothing to write home about. The potato skins are great dipped in sour cream and you can order them without bacon if you prefer. There is also an arcade that can swiftly devour your funds. Many of the games offer points that can be redeemed for treasures in the arcade store. Ultimately, you can spend a bundle of cash to win enough points for a tootsie roll. I'm exaggerating. But not too much. There are games like Wicked Tuna where you can test your virtual fishing finesse, or Jurassic park where you can blow virtual raptors into oblivion. There's even a good ole hoop-shooting game that tests your basketball skills and gives you points for your athletic prowess. Overall, BLS is a great place to unwind and have fun. Call ahead to see if they have open bowling. They usually do but if not, there's always the arcade if you want to lighten the burden of carrying all that cash in your wallet.
