We had my son's 11th birthday party at Adventure Landing in Raleigh on 3/14 at 1pm. Including my son, we had 14 kids there. We purchased the Mega party package. We found out after paying our balance that only 3 of the single rider go-karts were functional. Because of this, most of the kids could not race the go-karts together and were forced to wait at least an hour to ride. One kid in our party couldn't even ride with the rest of the group. Mind you, these are 11 year old boys who want to be able to ride their own go-kart, not with an adult. They are not old enough to drive a double-rider go-kart. Because of the long wait, our party was only able to ride the go-karts once and laser tag once. With the amount of money we paid for the Mega party package, this was pretty disappointing. I felt as though we could have received a lot more for the amount we paid. I received no response after contacting management with my concerns. Because of this experience, I am not sure we visit Adventure Landing again. read more

I'm giving it a two... it would've scored it a three however I'm big on customer service and when I went to use the go carts the male attendant was less than kind / friendly. It was my first visit and when I approached I was waiting to ride and once the attendant approached I asked him the rules and then asked if a person needed a license to drive a one seater. He said no, for some reason he had a chip on his shoulder and so I sent one of the kids to line up for the single car when he said "what are you gonna do with her?" And I was like I thought it was no license and he rudely said they had to be above the black line (no sign indicating it btw) and while I was speaking to him and trying to ask him questions he ignored me, reached over me to help someone behind me (rude and improper as hell) and seemed to not want to be bothered. If I had not already spent the money I would've never stayed at this establishment. The owners should invest in improving the cosmetics, staff training, and mechanical repairs of this place as there are stains on the walls, out of order signs on several games, malfunctioning ticket machines (terrible that it's only one), and some staff members are a bit negligent. It might be great for the locals of Raleigh but as a visitor you may want to go and spend a little more at Frankies or Stars and Strikes. The kids had a great time and I cannot discount that but as an adult I was unimpressed and can't say I'll return should I visit Raleigh again. read more

This was my first time at this location and my kids had a decent time but not worth the price of the quest pass even through Groupon. When we got there we immediately went over to the mini golf course. There are 3 courses to choose from so we chose 1 and were on our way. We had an ok time and noticed that the holes were not very challenging. Nice landscape surrounding the courses though. Before I arrived I figured that we may do at least a couple of courses but after 1 we were done with mini golf. After that we went to the go carts. The go carts were a little more fun but not very challenging also. It was my first time in a go cart in a while so I may have enjoyed a little more than someone that has been on tracks before. They give you around 8 laps around the track. We rode the double seater and at times it just felt as if the go cart was going to just fall apart on us but still, my girls had a decent time. Especially my 5 year old who had never experienced that. Overall, it was ok for visiting once but I would never go back. But the best part is that my wife who is suffering from multiple sclerosis had to go in a closet full of junk to get to the room where the birthday party was supposed to occur. There was no handicapped accessibility and no staff helped us get through the junk closet. The other party members were trying to help us get through when a bench fell on them and my wife. How is it that strangers from the other party were moving your junk so my wife's wheelchair can get in? No staff lifted the bench off of my wife and the people helping, a party member did. I have the video. I want my money back complete refund. We were screaming for help. In this dank closet. How is it we are yelling and your staff did nothing!!!!!!! This is basic human indecency. Normally I would say training is needed, but no. Everyone of the 3 involved in our party, hosts and the male staff member in the blue shirt needs fired. He was too rude for me to ask his name. I told him to get away from me. By law handicap accessibility must be present. Why did my wife have to be squeezed through a storage closet to join everyone else??????? The event was supposed to begin at 3pm. Unfortunately, it was not until I asked what was the hold up that we were told that there was damage done from the prior event. I was told that there was weather delays. I was told that there were other items within the facility that were not available because of a prior incident. I understand that these things happen, but the professional and correct thing to do would be to notify us all and offer a refund or a reschedule. None of this was done. I got the reasoning and excuses after I asked. Also when I told the manger that the cheese is burnt their response was that the cheese wasn't burnt. It just looked burnt. The issue with that response is that my wife cooks. She's trained. She's been to school to learn about the proper treatment and preparation of food. The fact that they would rather tell the customer that yeah it's not burnt. It just looks burnt is insane. This manager should also be either fired or maybe training, but probably more so towards fired because I'm pretty sure if your son's pizza was burnt at his birthday party, you'd send it right back. I'm sure that if your disabled wife was being treated the way that my wife was treated, you would not be happy. We did what we could to keep things as light as possible, but this was not only aggravating, but also embarrassing. I hated every second of this for my kids, their friends, my wife, our guests, and the other party that was also vocally upset. The pizza was cooked way to early way before the party started. It was siting cold and burnt. The popcorn was stale and no one ate it. I have video and pictures of the whole thing if you would like I will email to you. We had to sit and wait an hour downstairs for A hour that's how long that pizza probably was sitting on the table. The fact that my children and their friends at the party, witnessed the discriminatory treatment of my disabled wife . . . you have no idea the level of embarrassment to try to keep a smile on our faces so the children would not see what's going on to be a problem. My wife explained and cried to me about the embarrassment and having to keep smiling so my autistic son wouldn't be upset. My 8 year old son, his siblings, their classmates, and my in-laws all watched this atrocity unfold . I am the parent who truly dislikes kids' parties and such just because I think it's all overboard. There is no food being served. The games are banged up pretty bad, they looked old and scuffed up. The customer service is really terrible too. My friend got a ticket for two free attractions, and the lady at the counter said that only my friend can use both tickets, he can't use one ticket and let me use the other ticket (even if we go to the same attraction). She was very rude about too. I don't understand why we couldn't both use the 2 free passes on the same attraction! Don't waste your money on this place! This is the worst amusement park in the country. So me, my GF, her brother, daughter and grandkids went here and got on the go-karts. The go-karts were in absolutely terrible condition. Not well kept. One was sprewing blue smoke out the tailpipe choking people. Another was throwing off bits of tire on to other riders behind. All the air in the track area was saturated with fumes containing carbon monoxide and other dangerous fumes. Peoples eyes were burning. They need to really overhaul these go-kart motors, but they wont. U know y? GREED. There not gonna take any out of service and suffer a lost. Next lets go inside and play some games. Can't enjoy yourself here either cause its so hot. Wheres the a/c? Lets go out back theres a waterfall. Come here for a day filled with fun. It's $7 for one game of mini-golf and $9 for 2 so I'd suggest doing 2. Go karting is a little less than $15 and you get between 5-10 laps which I thought was a pretty long time. The arcade is a bit small but if you're more into the outdoors activities I find this place to be worth it's money. That was great for me, because I had 2 small kids that needed to take turn riding with me. The game selection is good and well priced. Prizes are kind of over priced for tickets, but it's better than nothing. The putt-putt courses are nice too. Come when the sun is still out to putt putt. If I could give this place zero stars I would. To start off it's filthy. The bathrooms, game area, dining area and all floors in between. I understand kids places are generally sticky and not the cleanest but this was a whole new level of ick. The put put area is mediocre at best. More than half the games my 5 year old attempted to play just took his coins and what tickets he did get wee shredded and not counted by their ticket machine. The staff is all high school kids. Had my sons birthday party there and the Birthday staff was great! 1. The games only halfway worked 2. Most of the employees looked like they hated their job 3. MAINLY- half of the Go karts brakes didn't work. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. I slammed into a 7 year old so hard because the brakes did not engage. Also at the end everyone lined up to get off and just kept slamming into each other- I literally had whiplash the next day. Its a GREAT place for kids (and kids at heart). We grown-ups had just as much fun, if not more, as the kiddies did. There's an arcade, batting cage, miniture golf, laser tag and go-kart. I've finally admitted that I'm in my late 20's AND I need an escape from that reality sometimes. No, seriously. I recently left work early on Friday the 13th because I needed a break and my good friend promised to take me somewhere for a surprise. That surprise was Adventure Landing! I was quite taken aback because I'd heard it was fun, but never been. It's been ages since anyone's surprised me with anything too. He sure is awesome and knows my personality well. So we went in and I was secretly way excited with butterflies, but didn't want to admit it and I was good at not showing it although I probably should have. It was like I was Tom Hanks' character in the movie Big! We went to the counter and I saw all the fun options: laser tag, go-karts, mini golf, arcade, and as we walked around the room even skee ball!!! I remember back in the day when my we'd go visit friends inland (I'm from an island on the coast) or up north and we might get the big treat of going to a place that had skee ball when we visited our cousins or family friends. The joy and anticipation of those tickets coming out of that machine is still there! First we decided to do putt putt. But next to the putt putt courses we saw a set of batting cages! Those are for next time. We went to the putt putt course counter and opted to play two rounds. I'll admit it's made for kids so I felt kinda silly, but I was smiling the whole time. We posed with the zebras to take pictures, played in the cave on another course, and were just as stoked when we got a hole-in-one as we were when we were kids. When you get hole-in-one you're supposed to get a prize. The girl at the counter gave me a high five and I was confused...as a little kid would be. Wait, where's my prize?!? Oh, you get some coupons and tokens at a reduced rate. Thank you. :) On both courses I got a hole-in-one so I got my high five and laughed about it. I love putt putt and play almost every single time I go home to the beach, so it was nice to get that homey childish escape right here in the triangle. Then we spent some time in the arcade. We rocked all sorts of video games: virtual reality games, shooting games, Star Wars, etc. Then we did skee-ball, shooting hoops, hit the duck, etc. Collected all those tickets and went right to the counter to collect our prizes. Everyone there was just as enthusiastic as we were. As the day got later on -- as in when parents get off work -- the place started to fill up. I'm sure during the "off" hours it gets packed and birthday parties probably overwhelm it, but it was a blast when there weren't too many people. Next time: go-karts and laser tag. If you have kids, take them to Adventure Landing. If you need to PRETEND you're a kid, go to Adventure Landing! You'll have quite a little adventurous escape from reality. ;) read more

Came here with my boyfriend to enjoy the batting cages. Also, decided to play some games. Well there were hardly any Softball cages available and the medium baseball cage jammed up well into the 4th pitch. We stayed optimistic and decided to head inside for a few games. Out of the four games we attempted to play all four either took our token or didn't work at all. I had no problem getting a refund. I used to love this place as a kid. I bet this place was pretty good in the 90s. It's 2010 now and this just doesn't cut it anymore. Disclaimer: me and my co-worker had some weekdays off from work and we used a Groupon.com certificate. Two guys in their mid-late 20s at Adventure Landing probably didn't look very normal, but we actually did have a good time. The best thing in the arcade section is probably Big Buck Hunter Pro (the $3 game--6 tokens for a player) and Ghost Squad (beware the quick action scenes... this shoot-em-up game makes you think). Definitely avoid Jurassic Park and the snowmobile game near it. There is an air hockey table, but unfortunately it doesn't tally every shot for one of the sides and there are a couple tears in the surface. The batting cages are ok. Unfortunately, the only "medium" speed cage was tossing either really high or really low. It needs some tuning and some new equipment/baseballs. Come with your own bat if you have one. They require helmets with a facemask. Actually, I'd recommend just finding other cages. Maybe it was because I have been exclusively hitting softballs for a few years, but I rarely got a good hold of a pitch. The mini golf courses are worn down and not terribly exciting or innovative. If you enjoy playing mini golf, then you'll enjoy playing... but it probably won't be anything memorable (unless, of course, you are amazed by life-size inanimate animals from the 90s). The Go Kart course is probably the best part. My friend spun out on the course because part of it was wet, but other than that we had a good time. They let us do a lot of laps before giving us the red light. The karts are pretty loud though (naturally). If you have some earplugs, that might be a good idea... especially for a kid. We didn't try laser tag, because we couldn't imagine it would be very much fun without a group of people we knew. We exchanged our last attraction ticket for 20 arcade tokens. The guy at the counter said they aren't supposed to do that I guess. Thank you, guy, for breaking the rules instead of forcing us to play laser tag (it had started raining while we there so a 2nd round of go karts and mini golf was out of the question). Overall, not coming back. Maybe this place killed the little kid in me, but I'm pretty sure the little kid in me is still alive and this place just kind of sucks. read more

We headed here on Saturday morning with a 3 and 5 year old. It fit the bill for what we wanted, an arcade for the kids. Sadly it is a bit run down and food options are very limited. The kids didn't seem to notice but at their age, if it is something new that Mommy and Daddy have to spend money on...they are all for it. I will update this review if we ever play mini golf or use the go karts. It was raining the day we went, so we had no use for those two things. Also...they don't have ANY old school arcade games. First of all the staff was not very pleasant. I'll say what I always say...."Don't be mad at me cause you work here" . The arcade was a joke. Quite a few games were out of order, and the other games just stole your tokens. The place is run down, their was no food being sold....laser tag was closed. With it raining the batting cages, mini golf and go carts were not available so we were limited and this is why it was important to have the arcades and other amenities available. Just moved back and thought it would be a great place to bring the kids and have a great time. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! Absolutely the worst customer service i have ever had. After spending 30 minutes on the mega ticket game my son finally got ti the 5000 tickets and the attendant stopped him because "She had to refill the machine" immediately dumping all the tickets on top of his hard work and essentially wasting $30 of tokens he spent to try and win this prize. The person who "had" to help us with our tickets was probably the rudest person I have ever dealt with in public. Absolutely made it clear that he didn't want to help us. It was almost as if we were an inconvenience of him doing the job he was paid to do. We were very nice and respectful and my son even said please and thank you for every interaction but was met with eye rolls and lip smacks. After spending wayyyyyyy to much money on fun- it was all erased by the rude staff and attitudes met along the way. Several employees were nice and helpful but the majority were not. Adventure landing is the only place in town you can go to play miniature golf. They have 3 courses of 18 holes, all of which are mildly challenging, but easy enough a child can maneuver them pretty well. On Fridays and Saturdays the place can get pretty crowded which can make for an awkward golf playing time (waiting on others to finish their holes) during the day and on week nights however it usually isn't all that crowded. In addition to the gold they have go-carts, laser tag, and a pretty sizeable arcade with games you can win tickets for playing and trade in for prizes. read more
