Our initial elation was tempered a little when we uncovered some badly patched areas that we thought might not be able to be repaired. But then we contacted Hardwood Perfections. They came out quickly and advised us that indeed they could repair all of the damage and could do it on a timetable that fit perfectly into our plans. The floor refinishing crew did amazing work. After pulling up all of the damaged materials they rebuilt portions of the subfloor and then laced in new oak boards in a way that matched the existing floor perfectly. Next were several rounds of sanding to remove the old finish and even out everything. On the third and final day they applied Bona Natural water-based sealer followed by three coats of Bona matte finish. The results were stunning. Hardwood Perfections completely transformed this living space into something beautiful and amazing. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was flawless. All along the way we were advised of what was happening so there were never any surprises. Hardwood Perfections finished the job a full day ahead of schedule, did amazing work and stuck right to the estimate for services. Everything was fantastic and I heartily recommend them to anyone seeking to have old floors refinished or renewed. Hats off to Slav, Silviu and William for their truly amazing work.

Now wondering about under the fridge. Why write this? I was not home for this work, recommend that you see that what was agreed to is done. I paid for those things. Getting refund for range and sealing off rooms, but would rather have had the work done right than discover what wasn't done. As for the refinishing, they nailed the loose boards I identified and sanded/sealed. Looks good.

Part of the area was a light hardwood floor, in the kitchen, hallway, and entryway. There was significant wear in the areas around the kitchen table and rear door, but I figured that would be okay once refinished. More problematic was the adjacent family room, which we decided to redo with hardwood floor after our elderly dog pretty much destroyed the carpeting there during his final few months. I figured we'd end up with something that looked nice, but where it would be fairly obvious that the floors had been done at different times. Sergey came by, gave us a quote that was reasonable, and then pulled up one of the boards in the kitchen area to identify the original hardwood used. He was then able to order the exact boards, so that there would be no line of demarcation between the two areas. It took a while for the boards to arrive, but well within the time he estimated, and the communication was good along the way. Once the carpet was up and the new floors were down, it all looked fantastic! We are so happy with our new space. I wish I'd done it years ago. Sergey was easy to work with, reasonable, and the results speak for themselves.

We…read morehad 1,410sf of Nydree's dog-ready "Hardwoof" flooring installed with an EcoSilencer noise abatement underlayment as a labor-only project. Sergejs removed our baseboards, 1,000sf of old carpet, and approximately 400sf of old oak floors, and maybe 30sf of tile. Then he built-up the subfloor on one level with 1/4" of plywood to ensure door jambs and swings looked right with the new Nydree flooring. His colleague also installed installed 4 flights of hardwood stairs to connect three levels in our home (previously they were carpet)--they look beautiful! Sergejs reinstalled all our mill work and baseboards when he was done. Sergejs is one of the very few construction/trade workers I have met who consistently shows up on time around the promised time and does a fantastic job every day. He got our project done on time and on budget. The Nydree Hardwoof flooring and EcoSilencer was hard to work with (we bought it because it is acrylic impregnated and is hard enough to stand-up to large dog nails without denting or scratching). The project was more complicated and slower than expected because the materials and Nydree's special polyurethane glue were sometimes difficult to use. However, overall, we are thrilled with the project. The stairs also turned out beautifully and Sergej's work was precise. In the very few places where finish/style compromises needed to be made, Sergejs pointed them out to us and helped us make a decision about what to do. He is a true master craftsman who takes pride in his work. When we are ready to do our basement in Hardwoof floors, we will certainly use him again. He pays attention to details that other installers do not, that's why we chose to work with him in the first place, and he met or exceeded our expectations.

Mike did not do my top nail correctly at all. His associate sanded over raised nails and finished…read morewithout filling the top nail holes. They even did this on new oak floors installed to match. When I told Mike about this, he said that he was pushy and said "You're the only customer that ever asked to fill the top nail holes." He tried bullying but when I didn't nudge he agreed to fix them. That is the right way to do top nail and I shouldn't even be needing to tell that to a professional hardware installer that. He also didn't know if my floors were white or red oak and not sure what he ordered to match them. These have 102 year old. Sigh. He came and corrected the floors when I withheld payment but they just lightly sanded again and put wood filler everywhere. You are supposed to used the natural sawdust to blended. The filler is noticeable. Honestly the floors looked before before the work with the exception of the new color and no scratches. Overall lots of back and forth and pressing Mike to finish things to a good level. Quality control was an issue. Pros: He was prompt, flexible, showed up, nice (with the exception of when I complained), fairly patient, and eventually finished the job to a mid level satisfaction. I wouldn't hire him for a historic house. I regret my decision when two other refinished were experts in top nail. He was only $500 less expensive than them.
