Terrible customer service. Regardless that you pay ahead of time no one knows what's going on, the dates the flooring will arrive but they tell you dates and then when they pass they claim they didn't provide those dates. Then you're told what good service they provide as they are jerking you around and delivering nothing but head aches. I went with reliable because they were supposedly a good company to work with but this is completely false, just ask Chris - she'll be the first to tell you how great she is as she ruins your flooring plans. Update since original post - the owner saw this yelp review and rather than make things right or care about their customers they made me pick the flooring up off their back alley recycle dumpster during business hours. Pretty professional! Luckily the delivery truck drivers were there and they offered to help and were nothing by helpful. Maybe the owner should retire and appointment the delivery driver as new owner so they can save their customer service reputation? Just a thought. Basically, we wanted new hardwood floors in our house and this was the only place that had hardwood floors that matched our existing hardwood. We were excited that they had something like that so we decided to go ahead and order our estimate. The lady that came to our house was nice, she gave suggestions on what services we would need, what the process is going to be like, and etc. She was very thorough with her explanations. Right before she left our house, she told us that we would be contacted about how much the wood and install would cost in a week. A week goes by and we hear nothing from her so we decided to see her in person. She told us she found another hardwood that would match our existing hardwood better, and she told us to wait another week to get a sample of the new hardwood. She also told us that she would be dropping off the sample in front of our house. A week goes by and we decided to go back again, and she told us that the supplier was late and that the sample will come in later. We decided to wait ANOTHER week, and we decided to call her, but she clearly declined our call because the call went through for several beeps then went to voicemail. Then we decided to email her, and we waited and waited and we got annoyed enough to go with another more professional flooring company. All in all, we felt that we were ignored, even though we were going to buy 2000 sqft of hardwood + engineered wood. It felt like to us that they were picking customers they liked and preferred. If you think you can be one of their favorite customers then go for it, but they ignored us for a very long time, even though we were patient with them. I had a horrible experience here. They installed my new carpet a few years ago and I can still see (and it's elevated!) every single line where they used different pieces to fit it. There were globs of dried glue on top of it on those lines too! Every time I vacuum I think of them. Or when I walk on one of the raised lines. They only used booties when I was there and took them off when I wasn't. One of the owners came out to see it afterward after I said it was terrible and that I was very unhappy and he said there was nothing he was going to do to fix it. He downplayed how bad a job it really was and left. I also found loose staples afterward and had to make sure they were all gone. I've lived in many places and have never seen (even in cheap apartments) a carpet job like this. Poor job, poor customer service. read more

My husband and I bought our new house from the builder, we had a horrible experience with floor guys back in New York. We learned that we had to hire not only pro but certified individually because the floor needs to rest and it will expand and contract. After closing I begged the builder to give me the guys who installed our floor and he gave them to me. It took a while because the floor builder used was out of stock but Kevin ( I think that was his name) called me let me know asap and picked the same floor from another company. The quote they gave us was really reasonable we replaced all our carpet to wood for 2100 square feet . It was within the average rate . It took total of 6days although originally only 4 . They dropped off the wood two days prior to removing carpet very professional ( they are suppose to do this not all do) then they started . It took longer than expected but they wanted to do a perfect job. It was amazing the floor and they cleaned up everything, vaccines. Also the two guys did mine was extremely polite and friendly. They also arranged the whole thing less than 2 weeks !!! the builder thought it would take longer since construction is happening everywhere in Seattle right now. Reliable Floors just completed a huge flooring project for me, preparing the house to sell. All the hardwood floors on the top level were sanded and stained. Absolutely beautiful. The one carpeted area was stripped and the flooring underneath restored to the same quality as the others. The stripped carpet was saved, and cut to fit a small room on the lower level. Perfect job. And maybe what I appreciated more or as much was the flexibility and the accommodation to a daily fluctuating schedule with other service providers. Nothing But Problems We had our hardwood floors refinished and the finish was not what we expected. It had fibers and bubbles in it. When they came out to repair it, they made it worse -- many bubbles and a bigger spot. They agreed to refinish it again with the correct finish and they did a sloppy job. There are bubbles, fibers and many pooled areas of varnish in the finish. The pooled varnish is very noticeable! They did not take off the trim, move the fridge or stove; yet, they charged us for it. We are not satisfied and would NOT recommend them. read more

I contacted this company to provide me with estimates for new flooring in several areas of my house. I wanted quotes on options of going with tile vs. vinyl. I was told that I could check grout colors in their showroom and that I would receive my estimate within 1-2 days of the measurement. I received one 3 days later with a promise that the others would come the next day. They came 2 more days later and only after I prompted them. The estimates appeared to have been slapped together in a hurry. I didn't get the options that I'd asked for and when I pointed that out, I got an option that I had specifically said I didn't want. Also, I went to the showroom to look at grout and all that had were pictures of it and not the tiles I wanted to see it with. Needless to say I will not bother with this company. If they are this flakey and UNReliable, I can only imagine what the installation would be like. read more

We had our floors replaced over the past year. The 1st subcontractor that was sent to us left a few places with more floor creeks than started with. When we began the next phase we brought this to their attention, all we got from the sales person was a laugh. The 2nd subcontractor they sent left three of our rooms with bulging carpet in the middle of each room, did not properly fit the carpet. When replaced our bathroom floors left air pockets so the floors are a bit wavy. We did have the carpet fixed. Very disappointed that this "family" operation cannot hire qualified contractors. read more

Thankfully used them to do a flooring in my basement...bur unfortunately the employees had the same thought process...that of being 'this is just a closet' or 'this is just a basement'...decent enough but wouldn't recommend them to do a house job...attention to detail is certainly lacking. read more

Seems like when you get great service, you need to shout it out. When looking for someone to repair are carpet, I had two cancellations, one "no show" and one no return call from other companies. I was about ready to give up on anyone to come to my home, replace a portion of carpet pad and stretch my in-good-shape carpet. We had water damage and, after drying everything out over 4 weeks ( our insurance deductable is $1000, so, we didn't go that direction). We opted to repair. When I called Reliable Floor Coverings (down the hill from my home), Joe was very friendly and came out to our home quickly. He, then, went back to the office and sent me a quote right away. They were priced in line with many others, so, I scheduled an appointment. Jeff was my contact for this work and he was extremely polite and followed up with me. He called the day before, as a reminder. On scheduled morning, Chris arrived (sorry I don't have last names right now), took a quick look, brought in the correct padding and went to work. He was so efficient, he finished out job under an hour! Cool thing about that..they only charged us "minimum" visit plus material. VERY fair and about $60 less than original proposal. Initial installment of our new wood floor was exactly what we didnt want, and we told them numerous times what we wanted. Then when they came back to fix the issue they made several more mistakes. Now we have had them "repair" their crappy work three times, and every time they screw something else up. Use any company but this one. read more

Our contractor, Shasta Construction, insisted that we use Reliable for our wood floors, tile floors/showers, and quartz counter tops. There were problems with everything from the start. They used the incorrect grout color and have spent three months trying to "fix" it, so now we have about 3 different grout colors. They were unable to install niches in the shower wall and did a horrible job with timing out the tile. Again weeks passed and we finally asked them to fill in the niches and attempt damage control. Then their quartz counter top people cut the incorrect edge. After that was corrected they placed the quartz on the island unevenly (another fix). Then Reliable installed a sink we had not ordered and did not want. They they tried to seal the shower tile and some guy who appeared to be on drugs came over and slopped the sealant unevenly all over the place. That has yet to be fixed. We are talking over 3-4 months involvement with over $20,000 paid to Reliable. We can't get our money back and, because this is new construction, we can't move in until the shower is in working our. We are an older couple and feel totally ripped off by Reliable and our contractor. read more

So I was helping a friend move that just bought a house in this area, and they needed to get some updates in the carpet, and wood floors. I asked if I could go along, because I am in the same boat. We started at one of the local chain big orange box disappointments, and realized quickly that the service was less than informative, and at best, disappointing! We decided to try and shop local, and ended up at Reliable Floors. First impression: mom and pop, five minutes later: wow! What you do not see from the street, will quickly amaze you with what is inside. The first floor has a great tile selection, and some fantastic area rug choices that can hit most any budget....I can even buy Made in USA!!! Go upstairs, whoa. The people were extremely friendly, they are FAMILY owned(!!), and have been in Edmonds apparently forever. I ended up getting new carpet for the upstairs (have to wait on the wood), and I will for sure be back to them for the rest of the updates. I could not be more pleased with the balance of service, price, and quality of the installation they did. They really live by the fact that they are a local company and take pride in that in everything. read more
