I arrived to the location recommended by a friend who's considering this location as a b day…read morerendezvous in the near future. Thursday. Parking: there's parking available in a well lit parking lot directly behind the building. There are lights along the entire plaza outside. No major trash or debris. A small spot which still made us feel safe. There's an entrance / exit there's well as the front door. There's parking directly on the main road. We saw a few spots available in the side streets which was a plus. Business at 8 pm was busy and rustling. A few seats became available at the bar as the crowd rotated. We were promptly greeted by the bartender. We also made eye contact with a wait staff who also went behind the bar POS. The music was at a moderate volume featuring classic reggae sounds throughout the spot. The bar has about 12 seats. There's are four tv displaying weekly pronouns and local sports. We ordered wings and fries. Both were bright crisp and hot. An indication that grease is rotated fresh. The panko batter for the wings was tasty. The restroom is located at the back by the entrance. I did not have an opportunity to check this out. The dining room is bright white and modern. There's a projector and a tv screen in the area. We are observed the climate control is fair with hot food in hot chafing dishes. There are windows which let light in at sunset. We discussed future dinner plans with owner Jeff. He provided menu options for large parties. He has digital displays of food and menu plans which was impressive. We are in the process of setting up dinner. Looking forward to letting you know how the execution is for our large party dinner. We ordered a lemon drip, mango lemon drop and Jamican white rum with ginger. The garnishes were fresh. The drinks were full bodied and tasty. The owner check us for responsible service of alcohol.

Here are some reasons why: 1. the tacky waitress was wearing a bedtime bonnet 2. None of the items shown on their brunch poster was served. (no pancakes, no fruit etc...) 3. They offered bottomless mimosas and bellinis, however they did not tell us until an hour before brunch ended that they offered the bellinis in different flavors. When I ordered a mango flavored one they told me that they ran out of champagne. Please note that there is a liquor store within walking distance of the restaurant. One of the three waitress could have walked there to get a bottle instead of chatting by the empty bar. Spices, your lackadaisical approach is disrespectful to your patrons. Do better!!!!

It's possible I'll be a somewhat regular attendee here since my friend has been hired to host karaoke here on Saturday nights, go to Brian's Karaoke on Saturday nights if you're reading this. The bartender was nice, the people in the bar were pretty friendly, it is a nice little hang out spot. I saddled up to the bar and asked if they had any non alcoholic beers, they did not. They had no orange juice, they had no cranberry juice so there went my standards of cranberry juice and seltzer, or orange juice and seltzer. Eventually I asked for red bull, no energy drinks either. I had a diet coke and later on a Shirley temple with no cherries :( So I like it here but for those of us that abstain from alcohol for whatever reason, can we have more drink choices please!

I gave this restaurant 1 star only because it is dog-friendly…read more Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night, yet it took over 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive our food. Even then, at the 45-minute mark, only about 40% of our order arrived. For a party of six, our order was not particularly complicated: two burritos, two taco meals, a chicken sandwich, and guacamole with chips. The remainder of the order did not arrive until the 1.5-hour mark. To make matters worse, my son's meal was incorrect when it finally came out, adding even more delay and frustration to an already lengthy wait. Throughout the wait, there were no drink refills, no updates on our order, and little attention from the staff. We also received no napkins or serving utensils with our food and had to ask for basic items that should have been provided from the start. The dining experience itself lacked any atmosphere. There was no music playing and no television on, which only made the long wait feel even longer and more uncomfortable. As for the food, it was lackluster and underwhelming. Tortilla chips and fries were burned. Bun for chicken sandwich was not warmed. The dishes were very basic, with little presentation or attention to detail, and they certainly did not justify the extended wait. What made the experience especially confusing was that this all happened while we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night. A simple order, an empty dining room, no communication, no refills, an incorrect meal, and a 90-minute wait just didn't make sense. The only positive aspect was that the restaurant is dog-friendly. Otherwise, this was one of the most frustrating and puzzling dining experiences we've had in a long time.

They used to have a big menu with really good food, but now they seem to be gearing more toward a lounge vibe. I think they should keep the restaurant atmosphere earlier in the night and transition into more of a lounge around 11 PM. I definitely miss the fried rice. Now the menu is mostly bar food like wings, sliders, and similar items. Don't get me wrong the sliders were banging, but I really want the full menu back. Honestly, I feel like they already had the same good vibe before, even with the larger menu, so now it feels like the same atmosphere but with fewer food options. They do have hookah, which is a plus for me, and the prices are reasonable. So if you're looking for a nice chill spot with good music, drinks, and hookah, this is definitely a good place to check out. But if you're specifically looking for Guyanese food, those days seem to be over. Overall, I still recommend this spot for the vibes alone.

Had the wings, crab rangoon, lamb fried rice and the duck Lo mein, wouldn't order the wings or the Rangoon again. The wings tasted mushy because of the thick batter they fried it in and the amount of sauce they put on them. The rangoon was okay but nothing special. The lamb fried rice was the star of the show though! I go back and order it to go all the time. The duck was delicious but they made the lo mein waaaay too salty. Service was pretty decent. It only ever lacks when it's super busy.

Of course Long Island has lots of diners, but they are all unique, and I would say that based on my experience, Imperial is one of the best. I did not want your typical huge diner meal, which is much too much food, so I went with a nice dinner size Mediterranean Salad. The food was excellent - top quality fresh ingredients, put together beautifully and delicious. I was equally impressed by the service. When I travel to New York, I will often run into people who are not particularly friendly or helpful, including many who work at restaurants. This was not the case at all at Imperial. They were kind, and eager to give me a great experience. For a diner, it was not too noisy, and everything was very clean. Prices were very fair too. The only thing lacking .. and I saw this a lot in New York, was non-alcoholic beer. I cannot drink alcohol, and this is something I really enjoy with my meals. Imperial does have a variety of "Mocktails" .. so there are options for folks like me ..but it would be nice to see some beer options for the growing number of people who either cannot drink, or prefer to avoid alcohol. This is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a nice diner. Highly recommended.
