Visited Prime on the Mile for their Mother's Day prix fixe dinner which was $80 per person before tax and gratuity. For a holiday/waterfront dining experience on the Nautical Mile, I expected pricing to be on the higher side, but I will say the menu itself felt a bit limited for that price point. Still, the restaurant is absolutely a cute spot and definitely one of the nicer looking restaurants in the area with a great atmosphere and lounge vibe. The cocktail menu was honestly one of the highlights of the night. The drinks were well made, flavorful, and fun. You can tell they put thought into their cocktail program and presentation. For appetizers, we ordered the wings, fried shrimp, and crab cake. All three were very good. The wings were flavorful, the shrimp were crispy and fresh, and the crab cake was nicely done as well. For my entrée, I chose the blackened salmon with jasmine rice and vegetables. The salmon itself was cooked nicely and the portion size was solid, though overall the dish was a little on the salty side and felt somewhat simple/minimal for a special holiday prix fixe menu. Service was a little hit or miss. At one point I was brought something completely different from what I ordered. However, it was Mother's Day and the restaurant was clearly very busy, so I can understand the staff possibly being overwhelmed by the holiday crowd. Our server herself was still very sweet and pleasant throughout the evening. Overall, I enjoyed the experience more for the ambiance, drinks, and overall vibe than the actual prix fixe menu. I'd definitely consider going back on a regular night to try their standard dinner menu because I think that would give a better feel for the restaurant outside of the holiday rush. read more

Although the staff tries their best to deliver service, the lack of competent management has lead to continuing poor service On my most recent visit, I had food and beverages on the patio. Our server couldn't be bothered to bring us a menu. Instead they passed one menu among multiple tables. A lengthy wait for a server to introduce themselves and take our order was followed by another lengthy wait tor the wrong drinks to arrive. I ordered a 12 ounce Modelo which they attempted to serve me in an 8 ounce cup. Because I'm not a fool, I sent this back and ordered my beer from the bar. I was surprised by this as my server had told me that they couldn't bring us bottles outside. Despite the incompetent service, they were very adept at adding an 18 percent mandatory gratuity to my tab. After consuming 3 single beverages total in our group of friends that usually drink 3 beverages each at other better run venues, we left. We have tried our best to support this business for the past 2 years; however that's at an end They show zero respect for their customers. Their drinks are over priced (and the prices vary by bartender) and the food is mediocre. All of this is a direct reflection on a management team that takes a very hands off approach to delivering quality whilst simultaneously trying to price gouge customers by selling everything from pictures to hookah (ps - having the hookah prep team on the stage, with the band, while also smoking and eating on stage ain't a good look). There is no manager on the floor outside and so the space is poorly run and not welcoming at all. We came for brunch and were greeted by a live DJ who was absolutely killing it. We signed up for the 90-minute unlimited drink special, and the punch was both strong and delicious. The french fries were good if that counts for anything. The restaurant was very busy so maybe thats why the food wasn't good ? Not sure, if i come back it wont be for that. Been wanting to try this spot for awhile. I have been to their sister restaurant in lynbrook several times. I did have high expectations for the food. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The table we were originally seated at lacked any ambiance. It kinda felt just thrown in the corner. Bother my bread plate and water glass were visibly dirty when we sat down. We requested to move into the back room once a DJ began his set right below us. My partner ordered oysters as we say raw oysters on the menu. He was never asked which oysters he wanted and was brought cooked oysters with cheese and some other stuff. The gin he ordered was 86d. We were told this after I already received my rum punch. Unfortunately the rum punch lacked flavor and alcohol. My shrimp cocktail only came with cocktail sauce. No horseradish no lemon. When I requested lemon I received slices of lemon intended for a beverage, not for squeezing. I ordered the lobster pasta at the servers recommendation. It was bland and had ZERO lobster in it. It sat in a lobster shell and I was told the lobster is inside the claws. My partner ordered the Cajun ribeye. He was also not impressed. I don't know if we just ordered the wrong items, but we did not leave happy with our food. Our server could see that we weren't very pleased but it was no use in complaining. I came here this past weekend to celebrate my cousin's birthday with some friends and family. Some of us were running late (not me) and my cousin was able to push the resy back 30 minutes which worked out well. I initially brought a cake with me and called to see if it was OK to have it brought out as a surprise. The person with whom I spoke, stated there would be a $45 charge for the cake, which I think is ridiculous for two reasons: 1. That's more than a corkage fee, and 2. The fee cost more than the cake. I decided to keep the cake in the car, and luckily it was way colder on Sunday, so the colder air kept it cool in my car while we dined. We sat at the bar until the VIP showed up and then were shown our table. Nicole was our server. She was very nice. We ordered sangria for the table and then looked over the brunch menu. They offer a brunch entrée with a 90-minute unlimited drink package for 60/pp. This includes either mimosas or sangria (red/white). You can upgrade to rum punch or marg's, for an additional 20/pp, and everyone at the table would have to upgrade. They also offer a non-alc option for those that don't drink and children, at a base price of 40/pp, and that also includes the entrée. Many of the items on the menu sounded delicious. The vibe is very much Caribbean and Southern flavors, from the spin on the meals and the names of their specialty cocktails, such as their rum punch, "Murder She Wrote", to their choice of music and the DJ, who was really very good. Before our food came, they did a sparkler Happy Birthday mini party at the table for photo ops and the occasion. It was cute. By that time, the rest of the party showed up and we ordered. Our food came out pretty quickly and initially I was very happy with my choice. The playing was beautiful. I had the jerk lamb chops ($10 markup) and grits. I asked for medium and received more of a mid-well. The sauce was OK. They weren't really giving "jerk" like I know, but more like that sweet and spicy saucy kind of jerk. I need to ask up front if they put on a sauce and have them put that stuff on the side because it never hits for me. It's always too sweet with not enough spice. The grits were a whole other story. They were not good at all. At first they tasted ok, flavor-wise, but were not consistent, as though whatever they added was not completely mixed throughout. They were congealed and tasted more like a savory Farina, than anything. I've never had my grits congeal before I even took the first bite. I also tried my cousin's Cinnamon French Toast Bites, that I would likely not order as a main, because it's just too much sweet and you would have to order a side of eggs or sausage to make it a true meal. They tasted ok on their own but she and her friend ordered separately, to share, which would make the most sense if you ordered that dish. After our meal, Nicole brought a cheesecake slice and they did another birthday sparkler sesh for the birthday girl. We took pictures and enjoyed some tastes of the cake. From the moment your server arrives to your table, your time clock starts. You have only 90 minutes to drink and when that time it up, they are pushing you out of the door. We still had sangria in our glasses but we were not allowed to bring them past the doorway to the bar, which I thought was a little overkill. It was not as though we were ordering more drinks. We had only the initial two towers at the table, so what was there was still ours. We were awkwardly standing in the dining room, trying to finish our glasses while they cleared the table. I don't think I've ever experienced that, even at smaller, local neighborhood venues. It was kind of tacky. They said we had 90 minutes of drinks but did not say that we had to leave the table within 90 minutes. The venue is nice. They have outdoor seating when the weather permits, and a really nice decor that's perfect for social media posts. The Nautical Mile is good vibrations overall, based on location and atmosphere alone. My aunt and her friends popped in last Saturday night for appetizers and drinks. She enjoyed herself so much that she decided she wanted to return THE VERY NEXT DAY for her birthday dinner. We made reservations for 7PM. This was my first time at Prime On The Mile. My crab salad appetizer was huge, full of delicious ingredients and really could have been eaten as a meal. My aunt (the bday girl) and my cousin, liked their lemon pepper wings with chipotle honey dipping sauce, very much. I ordered a cocktail made with Mezcal and topped with a fresh jalapeño slice. Really enjoyed that. For my main course, I ordered the crispy fried red snapper with jasmine rice. The snapper was big and fried perfectly. The rice was pretty basic. Towards the end of dinner, the birthday brigade came out with all the bells and whistles-bubble machines, birthday sign, cake slice and a birthday song. The red velvet cake slice, looked rich, sweet, delicious. There was a really fun DJ on the rooftop and we went outside to jam and jiggle until the 10PM cutoff. Let's start with the ambience. I've been there before didn't even know. I had upstairs two floors 2 1/2 almost 3 put the upstairs outside. Today was brunch. You could get a 90 minute or you could drink brunch mimosas one punch or sangria or all three and one for a set price shrimp grits and lobster roll with french fries very good but people had chicken and waffles and fish and grits or look delightful. Very delicious. The service was great. For the four of us it was about $400 give or take but it was well worth it. We had great service. The DJ was great. The music was great. Came here for their comedy night but since they had a different menu for the outdoor bar area and it was chilly so we decided to eat inside... The ambiance was nice but service sucked.. after being seated and different waiters walked past the table but never stopped to take our order till I got a busser twice to get someone.. When she did she took forever to bring the drinks and the place wasn't busy.. appetizers were already on the table by this time and still waiting on drinks. My glass had lip gloss lips on the rim of the glass told the waitress and she moved like I gave myself a dirty glass... Food quality was not worth the price or the hour and half drive.. Took a friend to the nautical mile Saturday night for her first time. I had planned on us dining here but she wanted to walk the mile first to see other options. We initially got here about 9pm and they were very busy and the rooftop music was pumping and sounded like a great time. We walked all the way to the end so she can see and none of the other spots grabbed her attention like prime did, so we walked back. When we arrived, the hostess informed us they had just seated two large parties so the kitchen might be a little backed up, but she was more than happy to seat us. I appreciated her giving us that info so we could decide, and we chose to stay. The wait for our food didn't end up being that bad; we had our entrees in little over 30 minutes. Nicole M was our server and she was really good. Despite it being very busy, she was very attentive and sweet the entire time. They have tons of seating options: outdoors and indoors, and lower and upper level seating. The decor is cute as well. We chose the outdoor patio area. I think they also have a bar on the side if you just wanna grab a drink. Drinks: we had the leave the door open, summer rain, rock the boat, and lychee martini. The drink prices average $20. All were good and worth it except the rock the boat- that's just for aesthetics. The summer rain was our favorite, we had 3 of them! The lychee martini was really good too and the leave the door open was not bad either. Food: we started with the mussels with crab and lobster meat. This was really tasty and seasoned well as most places tend to serve salty mussels! There was a good amount of crab meat in it and I got 1 piece of lobster claw but it was worth the $28 (only wished it was green mussels instead of black). I had the lobster pasta $ 48 and my friend had the crab stuffed salmon $38. Both meals were delicious! The lobster pasta was the star of the show, really tasty and good serving. The salmon was cooked perfectly! Crunchy skin and soft and juicy salmon and the crab meat complimented it as well. The only complaint we had is it comes with a vegetable medley, which turned out to just be zucchini, squash, and mushrooms- that side is not enough to be a filling meal. I think they need to include a side of mashed or something else or at least make the vegetable medley more filling with like broccoli/cauliflower or something heavier. We also ordered the truffle fries as we kept drinking and wanted to snack. It came out piping hot and was really good but it wasn't exactly truffled- just Parmesan cheese really. read more
