i shop this store frequently and recently had a wonderful experience. i couldn't find an item, so i asked a nice fellow who was sweeping the aisles. his name is cleveland johnson and he was so helpful and friendly. not only did he know exactly where that item was, he led me through the store to make sure i found it. i was impressed that he was proud of his job and took customer service seriously. i find that stater's employees always treat me politely and with professionalism. once again, cleveland johnson deserves recognition for a job well done. read more

Decent! I came here for a pit stop lol Long drive and needed to go pee lol I grabbed some toilet paper for my grandma here too. My grandma lives out here in Hemet. She's been here for years and she loves it. Can't say I know a lot of people that love living here lol She always runs out of toilet paper, so we make sure to grab some for her on the way. This stater brothers is pretty clean and organized. The bathrooms are not open to the public. There's a lock on the doors that require a code. If you purchase something, they will give you the code or let you in. Service was fine. I can't speak on the freshness of the food, since we just grabbed toilet paper. read more

GREAT MORNING CASHIER! I had to dash in to buy some lunch for work before heading to my morning job and the cashier was very friendly and personable. He was also very efficient and quick! I was in and out in no time at all. I was able to find most of my items quickly, this a big store so come with more time if you're in a rush! Overall, I decided to give this Staters one more chance since my last experience was bad and I was pleasantly surprised this time around. I'll be back! Also, their breakfast chocolate muffin was yummy! I highly recommend their bakery items. I went at 7am-ish and it was quiet. I didn't find a line or crazy stuff happening, it was calm. read more

I said I would be if my car would start. He said he had a device to jump my car in his car. He retrieved it jumped my battery and all ended well. This used to be a great store. Friendly efficient staff. Great product availability. Convenient location and great service. I've now been informed that they are cutting back on their courtesy clerks, hoping that they will just quit. No one can live on 20 hours a week. Stater Brothers used to represent a good place to work as well as security with the Union. Since Jack Brown has passed away. It seems like whoever's running Stater Bros now is just running it into the ground. I noticed that the checkers have to bag their own groceries and have switched to Brown bags. I understand that getting rid of plastic is probably a good idea but I have a feeling during the holidays, especially it's going to burn the clerks out plus people are going to get impatient at an impatient time already. A wonderful Family grocery store is now changing for the worst. I guess I'm going to have to change where I do my grocery shopping from now on. I'll start looking at Winco or Aldi's for my groceries. It's mediocre at best! The hand carts are dirty, the parking is kinda bad, but it's ok to be located in Hemet.

Please put someone else in the Deli department besides the older black lady and the lazy black gentleman,first the lady takes so long to do her slicing and doesn't pay attention on accuracy and the other kid just likes to roll his eyes & takes his sweet time while having to look like he hates the job. On March 21, 2025 at 1:45 PM, the young man wearing glasses working the quick checkout for 15 items or less near the entrance, has great customer service skills. He greeted everyone, man or woman, older or young with a friendly attitude. He wished everyone to have a great day and a wonderful weekend. Horrible service at the Meat dept. Waited for a while, and they took a customer that had just gotten there. And then one of the employees said he couldn't see without his glasses, and was rude when he finally decided to help me get what I needed. They accused my husband of stealing firewood yesterday in front of everyone in the store. The rude, insolent employee who accused him actually saw him come through the checkstand pay for it, yet made a scene in front of everyone present, even when he produced a receipt. It was mortifying. The employees and management are wonderful here. Always kind, always helpful. Despite the stressful world in which we all live, they maintain their professional calm demeanors and (more importantly) their love and dedication as human beings 'just doing their jobs' and being their awesome selves. Can I tell you their names? Nope. It's no excuse, I'm always in a crazy hurry, running in and grabbing supplies quickly. But that doesn't mean they ever fail to be kind and polite and caring. This is a much larger Stater Bros. than the one by my house. The parking lot is huge as well. I am new to this store chain, and absolutely love it. They have a large selection of products which is great. I wish the "powers that be" with this chain would dedicate a Keto/Paleo/Atkins isle. They have an international section that really should have more variety but I appreciate it. I notice recently that I like their meat/butcher station. The butcher's don't look at me all crazy when I select which steak I want or what pieces of chicken I prefer like Albertson's used to do. They have rotating sales and utilize the Saving Star app for additional savings after you register add your phone number in for "digital savings". This is not my local store but I enjoy knowing that there is always one near by in the Hemet & San Jacinto area. read more

I am really disappointed at this store #46, this is my home store and I have received the worst customer service and a feeling of racial discrimination at this store. I never ever thought I would be writing this but this behavior was unacceptable. On 05/05/2020, I was rung out by cashier MARISSA OPERATOR NUMBER# 1114409 on terminal #4. Waiting in line on check stand 4 cashier Marissa was ring up a customer while still bagging another, the time in line spent was quiet awhile seeing how my sister stepped out of line to search for an item within the store. I'm a very observant person, since I too am a store manager in retail. During the transaction before mine, Marissa rang up a customer that was purchasing alcohol. At no point did Marissa ask the customer to remove her face mask to match ID, and at no point did she reach for the clients ID, while Instead the customer presented it by simply holding it against the plexiglass for the cashier. (Please note: current customer is of Caucasian ethnicity as well as the customer before ) Marissa at this point looked she she was having along day that was also maybe not so good given the body language she presented. She also at the time was not giving active attitude with either customer, until it was my turn. Marissas body language immediately changed to offensive and a bit unwelcoming demeanor, as I was putting my last item on the belt, Marissa was awaiting for my ID to be presented seeing how one of the first items to be scanned was a purchase of alcohol. While waiting for my ID she was giving a weird look to myself and my sister that I was with. (Looking back and forth at both). I presented my ID the same way as the customer before did. With an attitude she said she could not see my ID and to remove my face mask. (I did not feel comfortable with her "physically" holding my ID due to cross contamination nor did I want to take my mask down multiple times for the same reason) We went back and forth when I confronted her about the previous customers and what regulations were to be followed during this time. She gave such a hard time I had to literally tell her to "ring my items now, and to hurry up on it so I can leave". REMEMBER I said I'm in retail management also and in my years I would never ever say this to a customer service representative seeing how this has been said to me on occasions, "we all know that customer"! I then asked where her manager was and in response said "yeah go ahead tell my manager I don't care, he right behind you" (the manager was a slim male)bin check stand 5. I could not believe the behavior this representative was showing. I "felt" as if I was racially profiled because I was of Latino ethnicity(REMEMBER I said I was very observant on the other customers Marissa rang up before me, who were of Caucasian ethnicity and she did not have this behavior with them nor did she go through the same steps she was putting me through) orrrrrr it's because I am gay....is very obvious. Again, this is how I "felt", to question on which was the reason she was treating us or me in this way. Some tips for the store manager and staff: -Hold a meeting on body language -MANAGERS need to be more attentive to their associates with training and developing customer service skills - breaks ( if this is why she was in a mood, is there enough coverage) are we taking care of our people ? - managers need to hold manager accountable(are they getting the training they need to develop others) I'm looking forward to seeing the progress within this store and it's associates! The store itself is fine, but the clientele here is terrible. If you're not on parole or probation, you'll feel very out of place. I got hit up by a beggar, while getting out of my car. I then went into the store and saw the likes of the other customers. I became concerned that one of them might shank me when my back was turned. When it was time to checkout, I had to stand in line behind a bunch of people using EBT cards. The clerk looked at me like I was from Mars when I paid with cash. Then on the way back to my car, I stopped to take a storefront photo and a panhandler walked right into my shot to ask for change (see the photo, if you don't believe me). What the heck happened to Hemet? And why doesn't Staters care enough about its customers to hire security officers? read more

Take a chill pill Stater Bros! I watched a two security guards tackle down and aggressively attack an older (junkie) thin man for stealing a pack of razors... They held him down and beat him pretty unnesecarily... My three small children were with me and we were parked right next to the incident and I couldn't prevent their witness... My children were screaming and sobbing to have me help this man.. pretty traumatizing... At a different venue I watched a petite teenage girl get tackled down and pinned to the ground by an older male employee in the huskier size... apparently also for petty theft. I understand the need to prevent theft but I this makes me angry. On a positive note.. I've known many Stater brother employees and the store staff is always helpful and kind.. Dear Stater Bros Corporate... Please fire whoever you contract for security. I avoid your store now and with my big family I guarantee you're losing more money by losing my business than by petty theft. read more

Almost every-time I have had the displeasure to get the lady I think Maria (wears a neck gaiter), she has always been so rude but today was so the worst. I don't mind bagging my own groceries, since I actually prefer to do it myself so my groceries don't get smashed. However the cashier checked the man out in front of me an had a little chat with the customer about "bagging his groceries" and then proceeded to gently place all his items in his basket. Although she bagged all his groceries she clearly looked annoyed with bagging my groceries, so I proceed to start bagging my own groceries and as I am finishing she just proceeded to chuck my un-bagged groceries that I wasn't even done bagging myself. Everyone else has always been respectful and helpful when I need assistance. However this cashier is always rude and doesn't seem to like her job. This was only my third time at this stater brothers since its further from my house but I had to grab dinner on the way home from a friends so I stopped by. Went through checkout and my cashier was the nicest lady her name was Marissa. She scanned my items quickly and bagged them up but then I couldn't find my debit card in my purse is such a mess but she was completely understanding while I searched through what my kids call "my alice in wonderland " purse until I found the card and she was so nice and cheerful. This is the nicest Stater Brothers I have ever been to. In North County we have a large variety of grocery stores. Here in Hemet there are a limited number (Sprouts, Fresh N Easy, Stater Brothers, Windco, and Walmart). All of the staff provide excellent customer service. They offer to help you to your car. The bakery offers a variety of choices (all look fresh and delicous). This store also has 2 Red Box machines inside. I have never waited in line an extended period of time (they open checkouts as the line grows). read more
