This is the worst Staters I've ever shopped at. I just moved to Highland, it's the closest one to me but I'm the 2months I've been here; I've witnessed a lady shop in the store with her dog who then pooped on two isles. When I mentioned it to one of the Managers he hesitated in having the area cleaned up. It almost seemed like no one wanted to do it - and why should they? This lady should of picked up after her dog and I get it - things happen but this is why you don't allow pets in the store and this was not a Service Animal. Secondly, on a separate occasion. As I was checking out - the cashier and bagger started playing with a ball in the store!! The bagger would step just outside the double doors and the cashier would throw the ball at him. I come in to this store nearly everyday and I've lived in this neighborhood for 10 years, this store needs help. It's seems that every time I shop in this store all the employees are lacking moral like they don't want to be there. Most of the staff is great and always helpful but everyone working there always look upset or stressed out and you can feel it in the atmosphere of store. I've even overheard some of the staff talking about how miserable they are because of kevin, something needs to be done about this, no employee should feel that way. I am appalled with some employees not wearing a mask while coughing all over the meat & poultry. Girl stated to me it's a smoker's cough I reported her to mgr he states it's not mandatory to wear masks. This is the 2nd time this kind of situation has happened there. The service deli at this location makes the best chicken! Angelica keeps her team full of energy! I hope they are able to keep the staff they currently have, the customer service has always been amazing! The meat department is also amazing jeff runs a great crew over there! I fully agree with Jay R., the previous reviewer, about this Stater's. It's the one closest to me. I used to go to the one on 40th Street or to this one before the huge one on Greenspot Road opened. But this locale will always have a soft spot in my heart. The store is always clean, the selection decent (though not as good as at an Albertson's or Ralph's or the new Stater's previously mentioned), and the prices are low. Now as low as Food 4 Less, but the quality and class of shoppers there tend to be quite a bit higher. And of course - there's the full service butcher that Stater's has always been known for!! MMmMmMMmm.. I still come here to pick up items now and then. Its a good, solid store to frequent. read more

I cannot believe that the company is charging for the bags. Last week I paid $2.99 for a small can of Campbell's soup. If the profits from these bags was going to charity, I would be ok with that. But, the money is not going there. In this time when so many are in need, give the bags away for free for goodness sake. read more

The Highland and Palm store is clean and uncluttered. There's security out where you can see them and they try to keep panhandlers moving so they won't bother you. They carry goodies for all walks of life for when you something special. They carry a better cut of meat as well as a good variety, I finally got to try a rack of lamb. I think they are worth looking at. read more

Stater Bros has been an integral part of this community and reputation is vital for the succession of any establishment. But this location has quite a bit of work to do to bring customer service up to standard. Cashier E.P. was rude, not receptive, didn't say hello or thank you during my entire check out today. Even though this store is 5 minutes away, the Stater Bros on Highland and Del Rosa is very appreciative of their patrons as is the new market in town, Cardenas. Why go back and give this store my business and my hard earned money? Very questionable! Train your people to appreciate your patrons so they will want to return, your customers are ther reason they have a job. read more

This is my go to grocery store. People are friendly and helpful. Prices are great, butchers have great customer service. Constant deals throughout the week, rarely do I have to wait long at the cash register. Great WiFi. Highly recommend it. read more

I was just at this staters bros getting some lunch meat at the deli when I looked over at the hot case and noticed that the pans in the case we're disgustingly dirty. The pans had food and grease build up you can tell that they are not being properly cleaned. I would never eat anything out of that case. I makes me wonder how the food in the back is being prepared. Prices are a bit higher than Food 4 Less down the street. But I love their fried chicken. I had an issue where I think it was just reheated, the pieces were darker than the other pieces, but brought it home and yea, it was dry. Called to talk to a manager which I never do, he said to come in and he would replace it or refund it with a receipt. He was there, and he took care of it. Never had that problem with their fried chicken before, and if you haven't tried, try it! Forget KFC. read more

I usually drive right by this place on my way to Alberson's, but my neighbors keep making fun of me for paying so much extra, so I thought I'd stop in and try it out. I was amazed at how low my total was when I checked out and I plan to do my basic shopping here from now on. The store is a little small, but it was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful when I couldn't find an item. The produce manager was particularly helpful in answering my questions about the strange looking fruits and vegetables in their specialty section. It was also nice to have a butcher on staff to cut my steaks to the exact thickness I wanted. I am just stuck with whatever is prewrapped at Albertson's. I went to purchase 3 sale items. They were out of stock on one (and I had to wait while a stock clerk finished unloading water bottles before she would check in the back for any); peanuts (instead of being with other snack items) had to be located with the liquor; and I was told a reduced fat item did not qualify for the sale which simply said "assorted varieties" not "select varieties only." This is not the only occasion where I wasted a trip to this store and I am never going back to this particular location. I will also watch out for Stater's misleading advertising in the future. read more

I was totally disappointed this morning when I went to the store my daughter and I always go though the discounted items. We were informed that if it is not marked in the basket just leave it because you can't get a discount the bins were full of this type of items . I'm only giving this staters a 1 star because it won't let me score it a zero. The cashier speaks to some of their customers all the time but not to all the customers all the time. I had been going to this store for over 10 years and i decided to go to the one on greenspot rd. Big difference. Cashiers are friendlier and so is management. I went in this store this morning to buy groceries with my service dog and everything was fine until I went to pay for my items. I did not have any attention drawn on me or have anyone say a word to me about my service dog until the cashier under the name of Renee M said to me that I was not allowed to take my service dog inside of the store for the sake of her customers. She gave me a dirty look and said that her customers will have a heart attack if they had seen my dog in her store again. I have a disability and I need to take my service dog with me outside of my house. My dog was not a full size golden or anything, she was a smaller and younger dog. I also have my registration papers with the state for my disability and for my dog. I have never came upon such a non friendly pet environment in the past 10 years. I will never return to this Stater Brothers off of Palm and Highland again. I hope the store manager or even cooperate can talk Renee into what it is like to have a disability and not have someone be there for you when you are in need. read more

We live in east highlands probably equal distance in between the staters in east highlands and the one on highland Ave I've been going to staters on highland Ave for over 10 yrs primarily over the last year you see a very bad element of thugs and drug dealers doing business off to the sides of the entrance of the store trying to blend in with the customers the staff inside is great, my brother law had his phone stolen while making a call in the parking lot right out of his hand approx on 10/5/16, I started growing concerned although I'm a big guy and could hold my own, there was a shooting in the parking lot this morning 10/24/16 , shame on the cops for not patrolling more and shame on corporate management for not hiring adequate security the store managers have been crying for help as they deal with this daily, the present security is a pathetic joke, they need security guards that take there job serious and are armed to make customers feel safe out in the parking lot and also inside store to detour theft pay a little more that's what's it going to take now, another good store bites the dust,soon we will be driving to Redlands for all our shopping, we need more businesses in our area the current people we have elected in highland that should attract new business think otherwise there living in the old ages we need youth and a new look in our area like Redlands or the the thugs and bad guys will keep the area, make some calls get involved or they win read more
