Solid sandwich, I ordered the peppercorn turkey. It was slightly on the dry side but the flavor was great and the bread itself was absolutely delicious! I will gladly come back to try other options

We stopped in on a Sunday after finishing a local hike. We were the only customers inside so service was quick! We ordered 2 turkey sandwiches and the bbq beef. You can tell they use high quality turkey and bread. The bbq beef was just okay, but the turkey sandwiches were a hit. Bathrooms are located downstairs and are for customers only, small but clean. Cute little place though with that "local hole in the wall" feeling instead of a chain restaurant. We would be back!

I was craving a hefty sandwich for lunch while having my dog at my side and Rocky's Roadhouse was the perfect spot. The outdoor seating was a relaxing spot to enjoy the delicious Turkey, Bacon, Avocado Grinder while my dog looked at me occasionally hoping I'd sneak her a piece. The Grinder I ordered was packed with meat and the lettuce, tomato and onions that were bathed in oil, salt and pepper was so delectable. There was no other customer around when I arrived so ordering at the front was really quick and I didnt have to wait long to get my order. This also made photo opps with my dog also very easy. This place is a great spot for a fast/casual meal and next time I'll likely get a more belly-busting option like the Meatball Marinara with a cold beer :)

I pass by here all the time headed to Big Bear Lake, first time stopping in but definitely not the last! Had their delicious pastrami sandwich, added Swiss cheese and pepperonis! Roll was toasted perfectly! So delish Place is chill with a nice patio out front. Definitely hitting this place up again to try another thing off their delicious looking menu. I bet the meatball sub is amazing too!

We stopped at this rustic deli sandwich shop on our way to big Bear for a quick bite before meeting withwith friends. It definitely looked like a local favorite, which always gives a good vibe. We ordered the Woodcarver special. The sauce was a little heavy, but the bread is warm and toasty which balanced it out perfectly. The peppers added just the right amount of spice to make it really tasty overall a great choice if you're craving a really good sandwich on the go.

I tried the Philly cheesesteak. The bread was five star, but the meat was a bit too salty for me. I'll come back and try a different sandwich because the bread was that delicious, and maybe change this to a five star review.

This place makes such amazing sammiches! I got their special, Italian Beef Sammich, and I highly recommend it if it's available. They did not skimp on the ingredients and everything was freshly made. My only criticism would be that the giardiniera was not spicy at all, which made me sad because I love giardiniera. My guy got the Italian Stallion and loved his sammich as well. Both sammiches were huge and definitely worth every penny. Even eating them as leftovers, they tasted amazing.

    ... Ball Busta...Before the toasting...

The best part was for sure the bread. The worst part was the unfriendly younger dude manning the register, and the blatant microwaving of all their hot stuff. Does it hurt to smile and seem somewhat grateful to take my money? Maybe it's because they literally ran out of bread right after I ordered, but still. Appreciate your customers more. Everything in-between was pretty decent, especially with the limited offerings in Running Springs. Although, I'm pretty sure they get all their meats and cheeses from Restaurant Depot, not Boar's Head. I mean, it was fully on display. But no biggie, still good stuff. We got the Rottie, a Ball Busta, and Rocky's Italian. Was a pretty good variety. All three really benefitted from toasting in the oven, though. I don't think it does the bread proper justice if you don't do this. So, you're welcome! Our fave was the Italian. The meatball was a very close second, we enjoyed how spicy it was and the name makes us chuckle. The Rottie was still pretty good in third place. The corned beef was tasty, but I'm a little bummed I never got to taste it with the horseradish cheese. Now it's just horseradish sauce with provolone. Oh well.

Turkey peppercorn half sandwich - yum

Tasty grinder sandwiches!! All the ingredients are fresh. This is a local favorite spot. I really like the Turkey they have in the sandwich. You can order full or half sandwiches. You can pick one off the menu or create your own. They have warm sandwiches and cold cut. I made my own and ordered the salami and Turkey. It was so tasty. I'm also ordered the Turkey peppercorn. It had just the right amount of flavor / pepper. The Philly cheesesteak is also a local favorite. Many people ordered it when I stopped by. My half sandwich, chips, and a drink was a little over $11 USD which is not bad during inflation times. Better than McDonald's prices! This is a definite must visit when you are riding along the Rim of the World Scenic Byway.

I've never considered ordering anything else at Rocky's but their Italian. That changed when I ordered the sausage and peppers.

Rocky's is my usual post-MTB race stop and it's always Rocky's Italian--always meaty and delicious--with chips and a Barq's to wash it down. But today, the Italian sausage and peppers was calling--about 10-inches or so of perfectly-flavored sausage, covered in mozzarella, toasted up under the broiler, and covered in sweet bell peppers. What I really dug about this sandwich was that the sausage, sauce and bell peppers all seemed to be cooked separately, so they retained their distinct flavors, but they all came together in classic Italian style in the end, better than a Vespa, an Aperol spritz and ride around Lake Como. A course-chopped slaw, some chips and a Barq's (as always) rounded it out. Enough for two, I ate it all myself, which made it difficult to get back on the motorcycle for the two-hour fire road ride home. But alas.... My only complaint: the sad little plastic fork that wilted under the gluttony. So, if you're on your way to or from Running Springs or Big Bear, make a stop. Just bring your own fork.

I was shocked at the actual square footage of this store as it looks much smaller from the street. Additionally, I never noticed they have a Starbucks within. Initially I only intended to stop in for a meager bag of tortilla chips, but I soon found myself walking other aisles just to peruse the variety of goods available. There's a full-service bakery with an impressive display case near the entrance (adjacent to the Starbucks), and the steaks at the meat counter were equally attractive. The deli section was doing a good business with several people in line for sandwiches, and I noticed a hot soup station, as well. I hate shopping at Lake Arrowhead village on weekends due to the traffic and, though this Jensens was doing a very brisk business, the ease of parking is so much better. I have been relying on the little market in Cedar Glen (a former Jensens, ironically) for emergency "basics, " but it's nice to know there is a larger, better-stocked, option available a short five miles distant.

She was so rude for literally no reason. First, she snapped at someone. I don't remember who it was but she was really rude to that person. I brushed it off but then she started giving me attitude as well. She spoke to me like I was stupid when I mindlessly gave her $43 (I rushed since she was already pissy). She looked at me annoyed and stated that "the total [was] $24.78". I told her "oh yeah sorry. I wasn't thinking." She GLARED at me--cash in hand--and asked "what do I do with this?" I responded with "just take as much as needed". I didn't even give her attitude back. She seemed annoyed nonetheless and then proceeded to give me back my change all in ones LMAOO.. bye. My partner (who is also a grocery store worker) informed me that cashiers often do this to costumers who are "annoying or an inconvenience." But like damn wtf? Because I didn't even do anything. I respect service workers. I am one myself. I even apologized for the inconvenience and watched out for my tone. It was HER! After she checked us out she gave attitude to the costumers that came after us as well. Like they JUST got there. They didn't even get a word in before she caught an attitude with them. Imagine an annoyed parent snapping at their child. That's what she was like the entire time. I can understand if she's going through something or if she hates her job but she shouldn't have taken it out on random people. We're all struggling in some way, shape, or form. She can try to push others down all she wants but 1) it's not gonna make her problems go away and 2) it's unprofessional. I was gonna let it go but she was part of why I had a such a bad day so it doesn't feel all that insignificant anymore. Now I'm thinking of everyone else she was rude to. What if they were going through something worse than I? What if they were constantly getting mistreated and then some random worker at Aldi treats them like an absolute waste of space? That's sad. Hopefully more people speak up and hopefully she gets held accountable soon. The world needs less of whatever that was.
