I normally don't write too many reviews but I felt this one was necessary. I came here over the weekend and my toddler was very upset and ready to leave the moment we got into the store. As I was stressfully power shopping I was approached by a manager named Ashley. She stopped and asked if I needed any help as well as telling my son how much she loved his bluey toy because her son had the same one. My toddlers rage became quiet and she was able to help me find what I had been circling the store for. Even though it was something so small it made a huge difference for me. Her act of kindness spoke volumes and I will defiantly shop there more often. read more

This has happened twice at the Stater Bros on L. I went in to buy soda. I saw soda at .99 (orange soda) on a white sign with red lettering. I went to purchase it and found that I was charged a dollar more. I went back and got a refund. The cashier said that I had to buy 6 to get it that price. Huh? Today, I saw white sign with red lettering with regular coke for $1.99. Okay. When I left the check stand, I had been charged $3.49 for the soda. What is going on with this store???? read more

Went in to shop today and after checking out the produce we just left. I even asked the man restocking why so much of the produce looked spoiled and he just looked right through me and said I don't know. Its very disappointing and the general lack of pride and customer service has been escalating. The cashiers aren't friendly either and it's really a shame but they lost a customer today. read more

I am a frequent customer here and for the most part I would have an okay experience, lately I have noticed that some cashiers have been on their phone and gossiping with other employees of other customers they had helped earlier in the day. I feel like this is highly unprofessional and makes me feel uncomfortable shopping here. I also heard a women in management (kinda short, on the bigger side, Asian/hispanic) speaking rudely to one of the employees and it's not the first time I witness this from that employee. I've seen her before and it is a hit or miss with her, sometimes she is in a good mood and sometimes she just has a face that makes her seem unapproachable. I don't think any employee should be behaving this way let a lot someone in management, it says a lot about the store and who they choose to put in charge. I think they should really look into changing their management employees. read more

I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but this is probably the worst place I've ever shopped. The employees are rude. They have a very small inventory of items. Everything is overpriced by at least a couple of dollars compared to nearby towns. I mean it's not like we're on Mars or something there's really no reason for it. read more

Purchase a half sheet cake paid 60 something dollars the way it was decorated was horrible not only that once we cut it the fresh strawberries that were in it weren't fresh. They were dark red very soggy at the end of the party cutting the cake was a disaster contact the stater Brothers spoke with the head manager, Sarah I truly feel she's not loyal to her customers because she just brushed it off. You don't serve no one old strawberries. It was to where we had to pick the strawberries out of the cake just to eat it. I promise you it was horrible. Spoke with Daniel. The meat counter is the best. For the most part they have everything I'm looking for. Occasionally they drop a brand but nothing so far to cause me to shop elsewhere. I do suggest watching what is scanned. Today I was charged for a third item that I only got two. Normally I buy more at a time and wouldn't have even thought to check my receipt, time to start really paying attention. Stopped at Stater Brothers to pic up some better and fresher meats at their deli for a party. I love Stater Brothers Markets. We only have a few in Orange County. I purchased some beef, chicken, and spare ribs. The best fresh cuts here. Nice people working here and great deli. I'd come back again. read more

Me and my grandmother went here and we got hot dog buns and we used it the day we bought it and there was mold on it and it said it expires sep 17 2024. One time we went there and we got milk it's said it expired one day I forgot what date but it was well before the expiration date and it taste bad and it was expired. On 4/22/23 I went in to pick up cupcakes in bakery around 1:40PM, when I arrived to the bakery there was none there and I was waiting patiently up in front of the glass until a random employee decided that he wants to sweep right where I was standing when There was none around. Made me feel harassed and like he was trying to move/sweep me out of the way. I got annoyed and decided to go wait in line at the deli counter since I was being moved and there was two people in line making me in 3rd. One girl was prepping, one girl working slicer and one stocking food bar but none at bakery. When it was my turn at deli I handed over a receipt for cupcakes and I was greeted with "Next time you can wait at the bakery counter". Pretty self explanatory why someone would not want to just "wait". When I left with my one pack of cupcakes and I was heading towards the exit and this poor elder lady was walking fast and when I got abound the corner by the main entrance that same guy that was sweeping was directly behind her too it looked like he was trying to sweep her out of the way too. Later that day when I took those cupcakes to the baby shower I didn't realize they forgot a whole other 12 cupcakes so I got half of my order. Now that I think about it too they kept my receipt and didn't even offer it back. That's not even all too ......... I went back on 4/23/23,my wife ,newborn and myself. Just for a few things for dinner and went to where fruits and vegetable tables are, there wasn't a whole lot of people but maybe like 2/3 workers. What was really upsetting is how rude the tone came off when the manager just had to go out of her way to say -"Those scales aren't for customer use,there for employees only" 1. Why put it in reach of all customers. 2. Do you stop everyone from ever using it, unless you put a security guard next to the fruit too. 3. If you can't stop everyone from using the scale then why bother ? Why single out? We ended up not getting the grapes in the end, they were marked down for the wrong price and some of the bags were un even too. After the blonde ponytail manager said that we were both shocked like wow. We ended up walking away from her and she was following us down the refrigerator vegetable wall. So far every visit I have seems to be getting worse and worse... This is not a welcoming environment for small families minding their own business just trying to shop ,cause if there not talking shit about customers at checkout there trying to sweep you out of the way and make patronizing comments towards you while they follow you through the store to single you out. This place's prices are already high, plus you gotta deal with rude employees. And even in all this that's still not all the bad experiences....... This place has no structure,GM needs to be, Retrained,Revalidated and or Replaced. Pretty good place I like it I wish we had one in the SF valley the fruit I bought was so fresh and sweet. I went because I got a gift card and where my sister lives there was this one. While I waited in the checkout line, Hunter (the cashier) recognized an acquaintance of his then engaged in a prolonged "personal" conversation about a relative's health, which is OK as long as the check-out process is NOT impeded. However, his friend inserted their credit/debit card into the card-reader but chose to engage with Hunter rather than enter their PIN to complete the transaction as they both continued their conversation seemingly oblivious to the long line of customers. After several minutes, I politely encouraged them to complete their transaction by stating "come on guys, let's keep it moving." To which Hunter, immediately became unnecessarily rude and aggressive in verbally assaulting me for, essentially, requesting that he do his job by completing his current transaction and to facilitate checking out the remaining customers in the long line that had formed and where some customers were becoming vocal about the delayed check-out process that was caused by Hunter's behavior. After finally paying for my purchase and checking out, Hunter continued to make snide comments as I walked away, which was extremely childish, unnecessary and, more importantly, unprofessional! In general, I would normally dismiss this as immaturity and chalk it up to youth and inexperience but, in this case, I feel that Hunter's behavior was so egregious that it must be addressed to prevent recurrence! In my opinion, it's quite apparent that Hunter should NOT be in a customer-facing position if he is incapable of properly doing his job and/or of controlling his temper! He chose to ignore his current customer - who was actually his friend - to needlessly engage with me in an effort to justify his bad behavior that was only exacerbated by his continued hostility and the prolonged wait for everyone else in the checkout line. read more

False advertising. The cashier and bag get were as helpful to their ability but the night manager was not helpful He couldn't say which type of chips fit the advertisement. It said. Doritos ruffles SunChips and Tostitos buy 4 for 1.99 each. Yet no one could say which Tostitos and when shown the aisle where they were they all said 3.99 each yet the advertisement said "selected varieties 5.5oz to 15.5oz which the Tostitos were. 15 oz. If this isn't a con tell me what is it? I'm disappointed in management. To say that they were "sold out" but couldn't say which Tostitos. What a snow job to the customer. Watch out! Went in to order a cake for my granddaughters birthday I was amazed by the helpful employees and how beautiful the store was! I normally shop at the Walmart marketplace on Rancho Vista so walking into this Stater Brothers was a treat. I like this store a lot. It is an older building, so it doesn't have the look of some newer stores, but it makes up for it in products and staff. I love the meat department. The staff is always fr and very helpful. The will cut and. grind meat at no additional charge. They also have vegetable and shelf items that stores twice their size don't have. Stater is a bit pricey but at least they still have food during this pandemic. Most places are cleaned out and consistently have nothing but somehow this grocery store manages to keep everything stocked up. Their workers are usually friendly and glad to answer any Q's. I went to this Stater Bros. Dec. 11th at about 4:00 pm. The front end manager was visible and was tidying up the front. The cashiers were friendly, having a sacker was a bonus and even the security guard was friendly. Someone who was stocking eggs even asked me what I needed and pointed out where it was. This is the only Stater Bros in the Antelope Valley that I know of. It has cheaper groceries of the same quality as Vons or Albertsons. I really like their brand name cereal, its in a purple box and has oats, raisins and nuts in it. Its delicious. I go here when I can, to buy groceries. read more

We go here for two things. The variety of bacon and big jugs of water after recycling. The butchers and the cashiers are always pleasant. Wish there markdown area had some good finds, but so far no. Produce has always been fresh. We will poke around for deals. Also our cats love their wet food but I'd like to know who they private label from so I can research cost and quality. read more
