I'm generously giving two stars, only because the overall cleanliness of the store, including well faced shelves, is pretty consistent. My review is mainly for the deli counter, as well as the main check out in front. They have one or two strong cashiers, otherwise always expect a long line. For the deli, you'd be lucky to be acknowledged within a decent time frame because they ignore the counter. Where to begin with deli counter. They don't have a real ticketing system. I placed a pick up order for the weekend for chicken and wedges the week before. My order got written on a torn piece of paper, begrudgingly. On my pick up date, I waited over 1.5 hours, they said another persons order receipt/ticket was lost and they were unprepared to fulfill all the other orders because hers was a large order. Not surprising since their ordering system is so unorganized. I should've got my order comped for the inconvenience, but the management was less than helpful. Not necessarily blaming the deli staff because they seem severely short handed every time I go in. It's a shame because my family and I love the chicken, but I have already told my family to stop ordering from there for parties. We can support elsewhere. read more

I was disappointed with the quality of the beef loin flap meat I purchased. I paid $13.99 per pound expecting mostly usable meat, but I had to trim off a large amount of fat, silver skin, and connective tissue before I could cook it. It felt like I paid premium price for a lot of waste. The meat itself was fine after trimming, but the amount of excess fat was much more than I expected. I hope Stater Bros. improves the trimming on this cut or adjusts the price to reflect the amount of waste. Unfortunately, I wouldn't purchase this cut again from this location. read more

Why do the cashiers here always look so miserable? Otherwise great store! But yeah, work on customer service .

This is the worst staterbros. The only reason I come here is because its close. The cashier are rude and super unhappy. No one greets you even the manager are horrible. Even when I say hi first they don't say hi back. One of the managers is really odd and ripes open my vegetable bag to scan it and doesn't offer to get me a new bag. The place has a bad vibe too. I got there 45 minutes before closing and raced to their meat department. I could see my carne asada citrus flavor on display , but sadly the two men working said the meat department was CLOSED. Why? I guess if you want meat I should have called and made an appointment. I was NOT the only dissatisfied customer another man was also told NO! Horrible customer service. Good store making some nice upgrades to it. Deli could use some work though produce is great but employees act bothered when you ask for assistance. Paolo specifically was working on poultry when I needed assistance with ground beef. Took off his gloves and didn't reapply new/any gloves when handling my beef putting my family and I at risk of cross contamination. I said thank you have a great day and he just walked away as if I was bothering him. Every other time staff has been great asking if I need assistance walking through the aisles. read more

This is my favorite Stater Bros! It's small, but has all the essentials - produce, meat, cheese, milk, deli food, and of course liquor! I like to go in and out in of any grocery store in 15-20 minutes. I'm able to do this because I buy a small amount of groceries 3-4 times a week. I like fresh goods and don't want things to go bad during the week. I also primarily shop on the outskirts of the store, which keeps me from buying too many processed items. So small isn't bad, it's actually better! If you were to walk in and go to your right you will find all you need - tortillas or bread, cheese, OJ, dairy items, deli food, meat, vegetables, fruit and liquor. Your done! 20 minutes top! You don't need more and you don't need a super store. As for the service, I've never had a problem. A few years back the manager was a douche, but I haven't seen him in a while. My husband has his issues with this store. He prefers the La Mirada store because it's bigger and can purchase directly from the deli for the quick food runs, but I hate the size of that one. He also hates that they don't provide bags, but I guess they can't please everyone. Oh, the only thing that bothers me is when they remodeled the outside, they put those little bumps everywhere. It's a bitch to move the carts across the strip of bumps. Get rid of them, don't see their purpose. read more

I have to give this location a 1 star. I've been coming to this market for over 20 years and I'm disappointed that the former employees are gone. The former employees were always nice and pleasant to talk to. I really miss them. The employees now are never friendly and If you ask them for something, they look annoyed. They never look happy and make it uncomfortable to ask questions. Plus, at the register, they are always moody. The staff needs to work on their customer service. YOU ALL ARE CUSTOMER SERVICE. When you start ringing up items, it would be nice to say hi when the customer is in front of your face and thank you at the end, The former employees were so nice and helpful ALWAYS! Please work with your staff. Please have them watch customer training videos that help with staying positive and having a smile on their face. I have to say, there is one bagger that is pleasant. Even though I now live closer to the Norwalk store, I still come to this location. Customer service is great. Well stocked store. Brightly lit. Clean. Everybody's wearing their mask. The AC was good, not too low where you're sweating in your mask. Please put the hand sanitizer dispensers back in the front of the store. I deeply appreciated the associate in the front of the store sanitizing the carts before the next person uses it, but please put the dispenser back. My mom and I have been coming to the Stater Bros. in Whittier for many years now. This is a good market. The Meat dept. is excellent! They have really great meats, bacon, etc. The produce is very good! The service is good. We really miss seeing Joanie there. She was always such a nice lady to us. She was a great checker and we enjoyed talking with her about our German Shepherd dogs. She was also a dog lover. She worked at Stater Bros for many years in Whittier, CA. So I ran into get some ready made chicken ...they advised me it would be an hour ( not sure why) usually only takes 15 min at other locations. So I opted to get what was left ....kid advises me he have to charge me individually - I said ok - 5 pieces came out to over 10.00 when a whole chicken cost one 8.00. So I get to the front n ask the manager if he could over ride it n just charge me for a whole chicken given the situation- he stated the same thing as the kid and walked away .
