The Cellar Bottle Shop is a wonderful beer bar in Uptown Whittier. Really cool and relaxing spot to get a beer. Whoever orders for them does a killer job and definitely knows their beer. Service though is hit or miss. Ladies there usually are not the most welcoming and favor their regulars who tip heavy for attention lol. The regulars also have caused a ruckus a few times while I have been there. Brawls and yelling usually happen when tensions are high. My advice is hire a male manager to hold this place down and weed out the lames. Because this place could be top tier. read more

Hard to do an accurate review at this time, as our experience was fairly limited on this visit. Stopped in after dinner on a Friday night and we were looking for a nice, quiet wine bar to finish off the evening. Loud, and crowded, but in a good way. It just wasn't the vibe we were looking for with my 91-year-old mother-in-law, so we looked around and then left. Here are my observations: * Seems to be more beer focused than wine. Large list of beers on tap, with about 10-15 bottles of wine in a dispensing machine. * The crowd was younger, with some scattered patrons closer to our age. * Very lively atmosphere, but not sure they have table service (seemed like everyone lined up at the bar to order drinks). * An entire wall of beers and wines available for purchase to go. * The restrooms were clean. * There's primarily on street parking, with lots nearby, but not sure they were public parking or private (no signage). On Wednesday night at approximately 730-840pm, there were staff ladies (3) who were the absolute worst in their approach of forcing people out of a fire hazard safety area that leads to the bathroom. However they have chairs that are line up in-front of the said hazardous walk way of the direction towards the bathrooms , so either they were having a bad and pursuing their own self satisfaction. In any case their attitude should have been left at the door. Do not come here if you want to celebrate with your friends. I love coming to The Cellar Bottle Shop after a long day at work, or even just to hang out on the weekend. They have a large array of beer on tap and several bottles of wine. The prices are pretty good too. I'm a big fan of the stouts they have on tap. They also sell bottles of beer, wine, seltzers to go. I also love the fact that they're dog friendly. I stopped in really quickly and was pleasantly surprised! They have an amazing tap selection to choose from - plus the option to purchase bottles (think Bevmo but cooler). I ordered a flight and asked for the most popular drinks. Well.....apparently everything is popular. So I ended up choosing four at random. I only liked two out of the four selections that I received. I've been a frequent customer for several years now and this spot never disappoints. They have a wide selection of beer and wine on tap or to take home (or both!). They have an endless amount of craft beer selection and it's so much fun to just browse and read/view all of the labels to find one that is suited to your taste. There bar and seating are is in the back of the building and although the seating is limited Ive never had an issue finding somewhere to sit. They have a TV that has a revolving display of everything available on tap and they also have a QR code for you to scan and view the menu. The tap selection is also rotating so you what you might have to drink at one visits might not be available on your next, and I personally think this is awesome feature! The tap selection tends to be more local to California and nearby breweries, which is cool because if you find one you really like then you could maybe take a trip to visit it! The building is excellently air conditioned, since we're in a heat wave right now this could be important to some, and always very clean. They do not have a private parking lot, but you can often find parking in front of the establishment on Greenleaf or behind the building in the CVS shared parking lot. You're initial thought is maybe this is a liquor type store that has a good wine selection. Then you open the door and are shocked by not only the large selection of craft beers and wines but also by the bar and the lounge type seating area to the rear. There is music playing to set the theme and the atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing. This place is on fleek with all it has to offer.
