Food/Selection (4/5): Good variety of popular brands, though not as exclusive or wide-ranging as Total Wine. Ambiance (4/5): Easy-to-navigate layout, well organized. Service (2/5): This was the weak point. The store was busy, but even with plenty of employees around, not many were stepping up to open registers or assist with items in the locked cases. Overall, a reliable stop for everyday favorites, but I'd love to see better service and a few more unique offerings. read more

Great wine selection. I love the Belle Glos. I am a bit sad however, because this was my go to stop for coconut bacardi. It is no longer sold here! I used to buy the big industrial size. Now they only carry limon in that size. I hate that flavor, it is so bitter. Please bring back the coconut, even if its just the standard size bottle! Why I hate BevMo? They advertise buy one wine for $29.99 and get another for $0.05, but when you check out, you get charged $29.99 for both bottles if you don't pay attention and tell the cashier. Honestly, avoid this place if you don't want your time wasted by power-tripping employees. I went in to buy alcohol and got refused service by this weirdly tall cashier with long hair because the person I was with didn't have their ID on them. Mind you, they are 30 years old. Every single time I've ever been to a BevMo, they only check the ID of the person actually paying. To make it even more annoying, the cashier in the next lane over wasn't checking a single person in anyone else's group. Clearly, this guy just had some personal issue or wanted to power trip. To top it all off, he didn't even bother to ask for my phone number for rewards, so I completely missed out on my points. Terrible establishment and a terrible worker. Kasey the cashier could use some training on customer service. Her attitude is curt with both customers and coworkers alike. I made the purchase and I'm 68 years old. However, as my son carried a bottle of liquor out, she demanded to see his ID. He's 28 and she relented but only after she saw his ID. There's absolutely no need for that just for him carrying unauthorized purchase. I will likely be going to Total Wine and More next time I need adult beverages. read more

Selection is great and the five cent sales are worth checking out but this location stinks. Saw many poor customer service decisions by staff over the past few years, wild rudeness. Even saw an elderly woman wet herself when the staff would not let her use the restroom. They said they're staff only but they're pretty out in the open and not i a break or back area. I suspect the staff enjoyed tormenting this poor old woman, they were laughing as me and other customers complained. I drive to total wine instead now. read more

This place is really cool. It's small, but definitely the best liquor store in the area. I love the staff, they're always friendly and talkative, it seems like they have fun. Our go-to BevMo for 5cent wine sale and my favorite spirits and beers. I really like the michelada mix here, as well as the Bloody Mary mixes. Since we can't do bar hopping these days so I think I will learn how to make my favorite cocktails by myself. I can find everything I need here to make tasty cocktails at home! This store is always clean and organized, staff members are pleasant and helpful all the time. The gourmet cheese and snack selections are a bit smaller than other locations but I can still find what I want mostly. We get email coupons from BevMo all the time that gives us even more savings from time to time. At a time like this, BevMo is really the best place to stock up on alcohol at great prices! I hope they stay open, if not we will just order from their website! Ps. Just stopped at a BevMo on my way home. Better prices than the local grocery store. Picked up some green apple wine coolers. I go to check out. I'm in my mid 50's and was asked to show my I.d. which I did. Then the cashier goes to scan my I.d. Before she scanned it I asked why because I've had identity theft and don't need my information out there like that. She tells me it's the law and store policy. I call her out on saying it's the law because it's not. She said then it's the store policy and if she can't scan my id then she can sell me anything. Lost a sale, lost a customer. I used to order frequently from GoPuff, my last two orders in a row I made one night never arrived at my doorstep. After several attempts to get a refund, customer service just kept saying it was marked as "delivered" and couldn't do anything about it. They obviously dropped the orders at the wrong house, I had asked several times for photo proof of the deliveries which they could not provide. Shady and unfortunate, considering I've been using this service for almost two years at that point. Never again will I use GoPuff or will have anything to do with BevMo anymore. read more

Best customer service and quick turnaround!! I had to order non-alcoholic sparkling wine or similar for a gift to my boss' colleague for same day delivery. I found BevMo and called to see if they had stock. Val picked up and the rest is history. I have her mobile number and days and hours of service. Val was so responsive and so quick to get my information and call me back and explain why the order cancelled and how to reorder the out of stock item. I was a huge pest but Val was so patient and friendly and happy to help and so good about it and now I will always call Val at BevMo on Whittier when he needs to send something on the west coast since I am east coast based. read more

Yes a new BevMo well not entirely new it's been here for a year but I never noticed it! Located on Whittier Blvd in the city of Whittier, this BevMo has so many things you could buy for people or party events. If you have never stepped inside a BevMo before they sell a ton of alcohol from beer, wine, champagne, spirits. Price ranges are all different so you can get a bottle that might cost only $7.00 and another bottle that can be well over $200.00! It just depends on what you want. Parking lot has plenty of spaces and the isles are very clean. Each one is separated and labeled by what type of alcohol you would want. I came in here looking for how much whiskey bottle cost for our trip to Vegas. Found a Crown with two special engraved cups. At the moment they have a ton of cute packaged products, great for Christmas gifts!!!! I also bought a bottle of 1738 because it was on sale and hey why not have options? Tip: Sign up for BevMo and click yes to emails because they will send you coupons for $5.00 off a visit or even $10.00 off a visit! The place is clean yet the person I asked about the Moscato Allegro's change in appearance had no idea why or if it was the same as before. I understand you have many many alcoholic beverages but you should host taste test with your staff and they should learn what the establishment is selling. Learn some history about each of the items being sold would be a beginner. I had to look it up on my phone to garner some insight. I'd suggest an iPad thingy on each aisle that gives info of each wine you sell so people gain knowledge about what's being sold. So they can make informative choices when picking a wine. read more

Grand opening was Thursday...What used to be the Friendly Hills bowling alley has been transformed to this new BevMo. Heart the fact that it's minutes from my home and conveniently located with plenty of parking. They also offer cigars and complimentary Tastings. I had an interaction with the manager on duty. She is very very rude. Instead of simply stating that the tag was incorrect, she states the price is right which, of course was incorrect. I had a picture of the tag. Of course I wasn't going to waste my time with her. She is just very very rude. And it's very unfortunate because all of the other associates that work there are always really nice and super attentive. You can tell that the morale of the store is not as good as it normally is. Sometimes you go through life with this void in your self. You go through your days wondering what could it possibly be? You reflect on your life and you know you have a strong circle of friends, albeit a bit smaller than you'd like. The job you work isn't exactly your calling but it provides you with the finances to do the things you do enjoy like mid week traveling and restaurant hopping. "What is causing me such passive longing for an unknown filler in my life?" you find yourself asking. Target is on your left but when you look a little further down the street a retro sign of "Friendly Hills" dips into that orange hued sky like a large diner spoon. And below you see the lights in red spell out two abbreviated words mashed up together that at first sound odd but slowly become reassuring as you mouth it over and over again. You find yourself parking in a lot that is not quite large but not quite small, where the parking is always ample. You step through the sliding glass doors and are welcomed by strange, smiling humans who are happy to see you. It's almost like they enjoy their job. When you step in it's not hard to see why. The shelves, the aisles, yes, as far as the eyes can see they visualize a plethora of different liquors, spirits, and beers. Cool tones of gray and steel line the shelves. The wildly imaginative graphics of each adult libation pleases even the scantiest of scophophiliacs. An aroma of sweet wines, corks, and hops linger to create a magical atmosphere. And as you peruse the aisles, looking at happiness in bottle and can form the friendly staff ask how they may assist you. Could this be? Yes, it may be the Hoppiest Place on Earth! After checking out and walking with arms filled with spirits you start to smile. Small at first but slowly it grows till your cheeks hurt. The sunset looks a little more golden. The air tastes a bit crisper. And for an instant as you look out into a beautiful California sunset with an array of libations in tow that void feels a little less empty than it did before. read more

Beverages & More aka Bevmo and Total Wine & More are the 2 stores I always visit for my alcohol needs. There's something about "& more" with the language that these stores like. While BevMo does have "more" stuff other than wine, the wines are what I look at. Smaller selection and higher prices than Total Wine. Their 5¢ wine sale is their famous promotion that I always enjoy. You buy 1 wine and get the next for 5¢, effectively making it BOGO, buy one and get one free, or realistically, buy 1 and get 1/2 off or alternatively, buy 2 bottles for 1/2 the price. No matter how you look at it, it's a good deal. BevMo's prices are good for wine, so-so for liquor, and alright for beer. -------------------------------------------------- QUICK TIPS: -------------------------------------------------- # Pay attention to Bevmo's 5¢ wine sale that they have periodically. The promotion goes as follows: buy 1 bottle and get the 2nd one for 5¢. That basically makes those 2 bottles of wine 1/2 off each. It does have to be the same bottle of wine however. My wallet was stolen recently and didn't have time to go to the DMV to get t replacement so I brought my recently expired ID. The guy at the counter scanned my ID and saw that it was authentic but was expired and told me I could not purchase but if I had someone with a valid license, I would be able to... My ID is expired not my age! I get that he is doing his job but come on... Bit of common sense would have helped a lot. Again, I know it s the rule and regulations but I am over 40... I feel there should be an exception in cases like this when you are able to scan to see that the ID is not fake and I am well over the legal age, recently expired ID should have been accepted by visual scan. This location does have a good selection of wine ,but the employees here are so rude and did not care about the customer service at all. When walking in two employees were talking about work stuff but nearly ran in to us without saying excuse me or sorry or anything. I said excuse you and they didn't even say a word. We found a wine we liked and was excited that the tag on the shelf said it was part of the 5 cent deal so we decided to get 2 of them. When we got to the checkout it didn't ring up the correct way so we asked about it. We walked back and showed them and they just said "that shouldn't be there" so I asked well since it's there can you honor that? They said "no, but do you still want it?" not a sorry or acknowledgment that it was their mistake or anything or even any remorse about the false advertising. They were very rude about the entire thing which we were shocked at. We usually go to the one in Brea and always had great experiences there but they recently closed, so I guess we will just go to Total Wine and more as I went there last week and had the very best customer service the entire time. read more

Soo happy to have a BevMo in Whittier!! Place is located where the old friendly gills bowling alley was. Definitely miss the bowling alley, but love to see they kept a lot of their things in memory of it! They changed the sign that said "Bowl" to "shop" in the same letters. They added the friendly hills sign to building and also have items from bowling alley inside. The decor inside is very nice! Very clean and organized. When pressing on a help button at the glass to get a bottle out it plays a song over the loud speaker to go with the brand you want. Ex...tequila, vodka, rum. It's a cute touch. Lots of options of beer and liquors. Also tons of wine and champagne. Be a BevMo member for better deals. Nice employees, I'll definitely be back many more times! read more
