I've been to station 4 before for brunch and HH pre Covid (it's been a while), so excited to come back for a birthday brunch with some girlfriends. Station 4 is a solid bottomless brunch spot. The ambiance is sophisticated yet inviting. They have a nice sized a La carte brunch menu and bottomless mimosas (pre-mixed but strong) or bloody Mary's plus an entree for $45 (great price for DC!) I ordered the burger and it was really good! Other guests had the western omelet and chicken and waffles which they also enjoyed. Two friends ordered the shrimp and grits (and added extra shrimp) and while they did say it was tasty, they were a little mislead by the menu description. The description included "broth" along with creamy grits and shrimp however when the dish arrived it was just shrimp. And grits. Dassit lol I think they were expecting actually broth but rather the grits were cooked in broth (Aha moment). They requested extra broth (they felt that the dish needed something to bring it together) but unfortunately the chef did not accommodate. Nonetheless we enjoyed our food. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we brought cupcakes which our waitress and the hostess were so nice for storing and bringing out for us at the appropriate time. Terrible brunch. I ordered the pancakes, which tasted like they were from a box and were so incredibly dry they were hard to even eat. A friend ordered the steak and eggs and the steak was overcooked, and under seasoned. The breakfast pizza was just a cheese pizza with scrambled eggs on it. The menus they handed out to our table were completely sticky and dirty, which is really gross considering everything happening with COVID. The pricing is strange, they will only split the check between four cards, so if you are a larger group it's seriously inconvenient. I ordered the pancakes ($14) and had water to drink, yet my bill was $30. read more

This place is trying to be upscale, but failing. Menu is limited and the food preparation is subpar especially given the prices. It's more like a mediocre tavern. My wife had a softshell crab sandwich with fries, which was fine. I had salmon on lentils, which was not fine. Portion was tiny, lentils could have used a sauce. There was a tomato garnish that tasted good, but I only counted three cherry tomatoes. Sheesh! In other news, the table was silly small and the plates and glasses weren't particularly clean. Station 4 is an excellent neighborhood bar. The service is amazing, the food is delicious and Mr. Ahmed Mohamed, the District manager, and Mr. Maroon, our server, were so welcoming. My wife and I ate here after attending the wharf opening down the road. The wharf didn't seem prepared for all the people given the lines, so we stepped away and discovered this place. We got a seat without wait at dinner near the bar where they had multiple sports games on TVs. We both had burgers which were pretty good although pricey at $20 each with fries. We ordered a cheese platter appetizer which came out with the meal so we declined and asked it be removed from the bill. Service was ok although slow to non-existent at times considering we had a server and busboy. We had drinks from the bar...cider and wine...no issues. We probably wouldn't return if other options existed but there's not a whole lot in that area. read more

This is a horrible restaurant. The manager does not have an ounce of customer service. He needs training in how to deal with customers that are trying to patronize the restaurant and learn how to compromise. He refused to listen to my issues nor did he try to rectify the situation by offering another option. A friend wanted to check out the new stuff at The Wharf so that's how we ended up in SW. I can't say I was eager to check out the new construction. I would have rather gone up to Takoma or spent my first Friday night in Brookland but since it was a belated birthday thing for him, The Wharf it was. All of the new restaurants at The Wharf seemed to be packed, pretentious or just not appealing. I use the word pretentious deliberately because I parked in the heart of Public Housing and walked over from there. In defense of development, I tried parking in front of Wheat Row which is also walking distance but I wasn't zoned to park on that side of the street. Anyway, after leaving there we walked to Truckeroo which had a live band and a lot of people. We both like food trucks and the scene was much better but none of the food trucks did it for us so on to Station 4. I had never been to Station 4 and since I don't frequent the area, I was eager to try something new and ready to finally eat. We did outdoor seating but looking back, I'm too old for that and the tempt started to dip so next time I would eat inside. They don't have those heater posts like some places do or maybe they bring those out in Dec. While looking at the menu I remembered hearing about Duck Fat Fries so I guess I had simply forgotten about Station 4. Of course I ordered those, my first order of fries after hearing the Revisionist History episode on Wacky D's. To anchor the meal and to keep it simple, I ordered a Mediterranean Pizza. The pizza was pretty decent. I don't know if I would order it again. It was a nice size, portion for a single person. I ended up with about 2-3 slices left over. I enjoyed the Duck Fat Fries the most. The dipping sauce they came with gets an A for A o.k. I can't say that the fries had essence of duck fat or anything like that. I do, I mean, I did like Foie Gras the one or two times I had it. Like I mentioned earlier, The Wharf was too rich for my blood. I give my trip to Station 4....4 Stars. I took the hint. Yeah, it was a good meal, the waiter was on it and the head guy in the suit was cool too. Both better than the Maître d'Restaurant who just slapped the menus on the table as she seated us. One menu having no pages whatever. So for a rocky first impression, things smoothed out as the night went on. p.d. If it's nippy, don't be cute and sit outside. That's for the birds. read more

The Bartender Drew was phenomenal great drinks , if you come get him to make you a custom shot we had something with coconut ciroc we called it the JeNa drink for my friends birthday (made up name for the shot ) . I ordered a medium ribeye and because it was a large group I believe my steak was given to the wrong person, upon returning from the restroom I noticed the first half of the table had there food . I was included in this half being that I got there first and ordered first . Anyway I asked for my steak medium but before asking I inquired about the scale in which the meat was prepared so that I was satisfied. Needless to say medium was exactly what I thought it was pink center . The server brings me a steak that is well done and I could taste the char , when I cut the center it was done all the way through . I asked the waiter could I have another steak that was medium please , it was back and forth he didn't want to take it back but eventually he did then he comes to the table with the same steak telling me it is medium . The manager eventually comes over and then he was able to bring me exactly what I had paid for (38 dollar) steak pink in the middle. I wasn't pleased with the back and forth however it was solved , not sure if I would visit again because of it . A restaurant and bar for quick eats. LIKES: One of the challenges of doing my yelp reviews two weeks later is that I can't remember all the details! But I can say that I absolutely loved whatever the pizza was that I ordered here two weeks ago. My waiter asked how hungry I was. When I replied that I was quite hungry he recommended the pizza. He was right. I was only able to eat 2/3 of it. The crust was really nice and the pizza had tons of flavor. I really like the ambience of this place. It was lively and energetic with great mood lighting. The waiters were friendly and seemed to understand that many of the customers here are from out of town so they were helpful with suggestions. DISLIKES: because I came so late in the evening they only had the bar menu available which had limited food options. I would've loved to try some of the things on the regular menu. read more

I never write reviews but I think this deserves to be seen by others. When I made my reservation through open table, I was given the option to pick the Valentine's Day menu out the regular menu. I choose the regular menu since I preferred items on that menu. Day of the reservation my wife and I get there on time and the check in process was a total chaos. I can let that go because it was Valentine's Day and pretty much any restaurant would be the same. We were shown to our table of two (which were packed like sardines) in about 5-7 min. The ambiance was very noisy, not what you would want for an intimate dinner for two. There were tables next to us that were mere inches away. We could almost hear their conversations and they, ours if it wasn't for the loud noises. About 5 min after being seated waiter #1 comes and pours our waters. The table only had the Valentine's Day menu so I asked waiter #1 if the regular menu was available since that's what I picked when I made my reservation. He proceeded to say no since it was Valentine's Day but mentioned we could pick a la carte off the pre fixe menu. The pre fixe menu was $130 for a couple (not including and alcohol) with an ok choice of appetizers, entrees and desserts. I was disappointed and angry because I was now locked out of going anywhere (no restaurants would have any tables on Valentine's Day!) and would have to pay $130 for food I didn't particularly like. But after we were told we could pick a la carte, my wife and I debated whether we should just suck it up and order entrees. We decided we would. Now being so busy the service was quick (not surprisingly since they were only serving the Valentine's Day menu). But now waiter #2 comes to take our order and says we can't do a la carte. When we mention were told we could, he says well guess you could but it's the same price regardless. So why would you pay for just the entree. I was now fuming, felt we were deceived and the restaurant was hustling everyone. We even overheard another patron arguing about the exact same issue. But I guess most people had no choice and decided to just bite the bullet. The food itself was Ok. Nothing I would pay over $180 (including one drink I paid for not part of the pre fixe) for. This included an added 20% gratuity. Really we weren't a party of 7 but because it's Valentine's Day I guess you can do whatever you want. Just an overall horrible experience. read more

Super disappointed! We had a reservation and never was able to get food. It took 15 mins for hostess to try to find us a table only to be told to go find a table at the bar -- where we were chased out for a band setup. There were about a dozen other couples in line behind us who had reservations & were also waiting to a be seated with no end in sight. When the hostess did give us a menu, it was fixed price only despite their website advertising otherwise. They clearly were a hot, overbooked mess for a holiday evening. read more

My husband and I had brunch here recently and the food and service was amazing! Our server Ali was very attentive and made sure our bottomless mimosas were flowing for the duration of our meal. I continue to give this place numerous second chances, but I'm thinking of walking away for good. They keep raising the prices and lowering the quality. Consistency is terrible. Sometimes the coffee is hot, sometimes it's cold. The waiters don't listen well and bring you things you didn't order or plain forget about you. Some of the staff members are really nice, but I'm not sure that's enough to get me to go back. read more

I came in for brunch with some friends. The restaurant has ample seating, a large bar area and large outdoor heated patio. The brunch menu offers many options with traditional brunch dishes, there is an option to do a bottomless brunch for $35, with bottomless mimosas with a brunch entree. I had the veggie omelet, which came with a piece of wheat toast. I liked the portion size, it wasn't too much food but felt the veggie portion of the omelet consisted of mostly onions and the egg was very well done. My friends each had pancakes which was served as a generous stack, with raspberry butter on the side, they felt that although presented nicely the pancakes did not have a fluffy consistency. The service was good and the waiter responded to our requests. Overall, the food was good and I think the outdoor seating area and ability to accommodate large groups make this a place to consider if in the area. read more

Been coming here for years, and wanted to go to brunch at our old stomping grounds since I'm sure they're hurting for business with the development of the new wharf and navy yard. We brought our pup since it was a nice fall day, a little chilly, but we don't mind if we can sit with our puppy. (I did call ahead to make sure it was ok). I was waiting outside for them to set up our table, when a very angry skinny, bald man was cursing up a storm (using the F word many times) about having to set up outside. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. You'd think they would appreciate getting business now that they have so much to compete with. It's really a shame because I love the bartenders inside, but we definitely won't be returning again. Good thing there's better places to go now in our neighborhood. I imagine they will close soon anyway, especially if they keep up with that bad attitude. read more

Ali was attentive from beginning to end. We went relatively early (5:45 pm) on a Friday so the noise level was low; however, when we left the place was packed. We were still able to have a great conversation without talking too loud. Great - actually - amazing food. We had the Jumbalia, Seafood Linguini, Salmon with Crab (special), onion soup ad burgers. I visited Station 4 with a group of friend for brunch on Sunday(10/29). This was the first time I had heard of this location but do to a friend with a seafood allergy, we chose this restaurant instead of brunching at The Wharf. The location looked upscale and the hostess was exceptionally helpful since we had made reservations ahead of time. Once we were seated our waiter, Joseph Canelon immediately greeted our group. Overall, his professionalism and attentiveness was absolutely exceptional. Everyone purchased the bottomless brunch and he never allowed our glasses below half-full and his entree recommendations were perfect. The weather outside must overcast and rainy but the atmosphere and customer service brighten our day. Thanks again for a great brunch and a special thanks to Joseph for being a class act! read more

Let's just say 1st impressions are everything! So here's mines. We went for a Saturday morning brunch. Although they open at 10am, they didn't really open the door until 10:08am. The staff was JUST now setting everything up, including putting napkins on the table. So of course we had to wait.... We all ordered and I really don't know what all the hype was about but it was subpar. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was a fried chicken thigh and it tasted pretty bland along with the flat waffle!! The steak and eggs looked good but the steak was tough! There was very little crabmeat in the egg dish that was ordered. The atmosphere was fine. The bathroom situation was weird. Maybe it would be better if they had those green and red knobs that show it's occupied or if the sink was closer....it's just weird! I gave it 3 stars because I'm being nice! Oh forgot to mention one of the staff was yelling at the other staff member which was the entertainment! Oh yea the cheesecake was phenomenal!!! Will I be back, Nope!! This is the last time I will dine here. My mother selected the place because it was close to the theater, but I insisted after last night's experience, that we will eat anywhere but here. The waiter was the most impatient waiter I have ever had. I know when it gets busy it is difficult to manage many tables; I have waitressed for years, but his behavior was inexcusable. Right after we sat down he tried to take our order, and was annoyed when we said we weren't ready. To further annoy him when my mother clarified that she had a gluten allergy, not only was he most unhelpful in his suggestions, but grew further impatient. Between the amazing staff, delicious food, and strong drinks, Station 4 is always on point. Check their late night happy hours and brunch menu! Station 4's brunch is great - I like it because it is simple and the service is always great and fast. My go to meal is the Eggs Chesapeake, with the eggs scrambled and no English muffin (to avoid the heavy carbs). My husband and I usually go on our laziest Sunday mornings. With the wharf nearby, Station 4 is great for those that have lived in the neighborhood for a while who like a quieter spot. Dino was my waiter today - and was terrific. The bill came to $200 with gratuity included over $30 worth at tht for 2 people even tho we sat at the bar and had bugs in our food and drinks. Even the small plates they brought out were covered in sauces and food crumbs. Asked for the manager was told he wasn't present. Left a note for the manager ON THE BACK OF MY RECEIPT.
