Service: Very nice. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and patient despite having a fairly deep line. Food: I got the Sunrise Sandwich and it was super tasty! The bacon was nice and thick and the muffin had a nice crisp without being brittle! So yummy! Coffee: It was good for sure. I think I generally prefer it a bit sweeter. It tastes a bit more of a flat white, but was still 4 of 5 stars for what I like. I ordered the Iced Vanilla Latte. Environment: Definitely more of a small shop vibe rather than industrial Starbucks. But a well done small shop where you can comfortably hang out and chat or read. Tables are a bit close in the main, but it's not a problem unless you really like your space. Came multiple mornings while visiting the city and definitely had some yummy beverages. The Spanish latte and good ole latte can't do you wrong. I did try the espresso da Sal (spell check me here) the salt, non ironically, was too salty. Even with the coffee to cut the taste, my tongue only had lingering hints of the salt so to each their own with that one in particular. I will definitely return when I come back in the future. We decided to stop by this coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon. They have a great selection of coffee, teas, and Matcha. We ordered the Spanish latte and the Matcha with strawberry cold foam. The Latte was delicious but the matcha only has a sprinkle of cold foam. I was very disappointed. The coffee shop itself is small and has a patio in the back. Cute little atmosphere. Go to for coffee in El Segundo mostly cause ambiance is great, staff are chill, drinks are yum, and it's within walking distrance from me! Always busy but staff are speedy with making drinks. Matcha is decent but more of a fan of their lattes and smoothies (specifically the Pico Sunrise!) Lots of seating inside and outside. They have a back patio and the space next door reserved so you'll see most people working, studying, etc. They have wifi and bathrooms available too. I ordered an iced oat milk latte, and something about the flavor tasted off--almost like a faint raisin note that I couldn't get past. The shop itself is cute and bright, with an open, airy feel and lots of natural light. That said, the experience was less cozy than I'd hoped on a chilly, rainy day. A ceiling vent was blasting cold air directly down on me, and when we moved to the neighboring building for additional seating, both the front and back doors were wide open, creating a pretty intense cross breeze. Wow--the vanilla latte here was incredible! It had the perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness, and rich coffee flavor. The avocado toast was generously layered with some of the freshest slices I've ever had from a café, and every bite tasted just as vibrant as it looked. The pastries were fantastic as well--especially the classic croissant, which was perfectly flaky, buttery, and simple in the best way. I also love that their coffee beans are roasted locally at their roastery just down the street--it's the perfect take-home treat if you want to bring the Blue Butterfly experience with you. My go-to is a green goodness smoothie with extra kale for texture. My friends and I aren't too crazy about the food items-- tuna melt was a little dry, bagel sandwich was nothing to write home about, and breakfast burrito was not particularly flavorful. It's a cozy place to sit down and relax with a little bit of inside and outside seating. Inside options include a few small tables and a petit bar area within that cafe itself, and there's a larger room next door for overflow so there's plenty of space. Customer service was top notch! Servers were warm, friendly, eager to give suggestions, and patient while ordering. This place is definitely special because of the vibe rather than the food. The hygiene of this place is really concerning. not only are the walls caked in dirt, grease, and trash residue, but everything is filthy - including the food. Even if I ignore the tables caked with dirt and the walls coated with grime, the food is infested with flies and bugs. I bought a latte, and when all the cups lids were covered in hair, crumbs, and grime, I asked for a different lid. The served obliged but then just handed me more lids with crumbs and dust. Also, there were LIVE flies embedded in the pastries. When I told the woman at the counter, she didn't even blink or look surprised, she just shooed them away and ignored the fact that they just landed back on the same pastries. I absolutely LOVE Blue Butterfly Coffee (food, drinks and customer service) but their speed (or lack there of) on making drinks and food leaves something to be desired. I'm no restaurateur so would venture to assume that their small kitchen/prep stations lead to some of these awkwardly long wait times for something as simple as avocado toast, but they always seem amply staff and all customers have just come to accept the long as heck wait times. They've opened up an entire seating space next door which has helped the crowds in their OG space. I brought my parents here who were visiting from out of town (despite the wait times) because it is truly a cute little neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. I've come here multiple times with varying results. For example the almond milk cappuccino has been so hot it made the almond milk curdle it burned my tongue. I thought I'd give it another try the next day same thing. So I came in the next time I was in town and asked for it to be not so hot and they can fly. Unfortunately I ordered the previously delicious classic toast essentially avocado toast and this particular visit there was no one ordering food in the coffee shop and I saw the cook making a lot of bacon but seemingly not working on my avocado toast. When I did ask about it they said he's working on it and a few minutes later I got the avocado toast down on the counter by the cook. And it was ice cold avocados. So disappointing. The location for this cute little coffee shop is in the downtown area of El Segundo. I was really excited to try coffee from here since I was in the area and it was on my bookmark list. I went in on an early afternoon, I told the cashiers that it was my first time going there, and I did not know what to order, and I gave them some insight of my drink preferences. I ended up just playing it safe and getting an iced vanilla latte. Unfortunately, I won't be back. The coffee was not one that I cared for to be honest, and I was actually disappointed because I was highly anticipating coming here, especially with all of the good reviews. The meal (I didn't take a picture) was so off. I thought I was ordering an egg dish, but it was light on the eggs and mostly potatoes. Blue Butterfly is one of my go-to coffee spots. Seems like every time I visit it gets a bit more unwelcoming. I am shocked at the customer service. Every time the service seems bitter and feels judgy by their tone when ordering regardless of a line or no line. Also, what is going on with the cup lids. I purchased 3 hot drinks and they all fell off and spilled, no one offered a partial refund or replacement or even offered to help with it falling on the ground. We came here after having lunch up the street. We entered the coffee shop and it is so nice . They have some cool painted skateboards hung up on their walls. Anyways we went to order and I ordered an iced brown sugar latte and my husband ordered a cappuccino. I appreciate the fact that they have a display how many shots of espresso are in each drink. I thought that was very smart. They have some seating area inside the place but they also have a very cute seating area outside. The outside area has some very beautiful plants . Service was very good, we didn't have to wait long for our drinks. I really enjoyed my brown sugar latte it was not overly sweet and had the right amount of espresso (coffee) . My husband also liked his cappuccino. He did say it was the hottest drink he's ever had , but that is a good thing. Nothing is worse than getting a cold cappuccino or coffee. Had an afternoon work session here with a friend and overall had a good experience. They have a surprisingly large space - there is the main storefront where you order, and has tables and a bathroom inside, but then there's a small patio in the back, a lot of tables out on the sidewalk in front, and an entire second storefront that is only tables. I legit saw a lot of drinks on the menu that I was contemplating (a great sign!), but ultimately got the Barboleta blended ice drink, which was refreshing. The staff are friendly and work fast, and even offered us the extra of the drink we had ordered (otherwise they would toss it). Didn't get to try the food, but the baked goods section looked good! That being said, the main storefront was hot as Hades - I felt so bad for the employees. Not sure why this was, but it was legit a furnace and much hotter than outside. So it made it very uncomfortable to stay in that area, and we decided to work outside. Which meant being too far from the wifi router to be able to use their wifi (although it seems from the other reviews that the wifi is spotty to begin with). read more

My fiancee got the breakfast burrito and I tried a bite. It was healthy and delicious! He also got their delicious fresh squeezed lemonade.
