Finally was able to stop by this place, parking is minimal but you can park in the neighborhood and walk less than a minute! Staff is super friendly, they checked in on us probably 2-3 times while we enjoyed our drinks. Now the drinks were beyond my expectations! Cafe de olla syrup with an orange zest is a match made in heaven, and their Cajeta Cold foam was featured in the LA Times for good reason. They have some seating both inside and outside, love this cultural infusion with coffee elements. Will be back again! read more

The service and homemade syrups really set this place apart! Everyone was so welcoming and kind this morning & answered all of our questions as it was our first visit to Cafe Minerva. I had the vanilla latte (made with Mexican vanilla) which had a really nice flavor profile & was aromatic in the best way. My husband got a drink with the Cajeta foam which was such a unique & yummy flavor too! It's always refreshing these days - with lattes being so expensive - that at least the syrups are made in house :) We both ordered ours with extra ice (we don't like when our drinks are watered down, especially on a hot day) and I'd definitely suggest getting extra ice here as our drinks came with an average amount of ice. read more

I've been here twice now. The first time the service was super friendly!!!! I immediately knew what I wanted when I saw their offerings, however on this particular morning, I wanted coffee and not matcha. I asked if the Matcha Mi Amor could be made with coffee instead of matcha and they happily obliged. The cream top is delicious!!! However, the coffee was lacking and that was disappointing. I knew I wanted to come back and try the Matcha Mi Amor so that's what I did. It was definitely better with matcha. However, it's not a sweet drink. I don't like overly sweet but I don't want my drink not sweet either. Definitely popular and there's street parking in the front which I've always been able to find. read more

Been wanting to try this new coffee shop since it opened recently, and I already look forward to coming back to try more! I ordered the La Minerva latte with their cajeta foam, and it was well-balanced with its blend of spices and rich caramel flavor from the foam. I definitely wanna try their matcha latte next. Parking might be hit or miss since it's street only and a fairly small space that you might miss when driving by. Also, it's family-owned! Show your love and support. read more

OMG. you GUYS. THIS is the place to be. Street parking, cute seating inside and outside, perfect for people watching and catching up with friends. Melanie (I hope thats how you spell it) was SO kind to us. She was incredible. Brought us waters with our coffee and brought our drinks out to us. Absolutely blown away by the service. Was in the area for fiesta Hermosa and decided to visit café Minerva because I had seen on Instagram that they were open. The mural outside is so welcoming, we felt the positive vibes before we even entered. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the barista. We had some questions about the menu and she was so lovely answering all of our questions. I ended up having the Minerva iced. They also have the option of getting it hot. I loved the mixture of the café de Olla with espresso. It hit the spot. The place is a little small, but they have a really nice area out front. It lets you enjoy your coffee with some friends while enjoying the fresh ocean air. read more

So happy to have this place in Hermosa Beach. We stopped in on the Fourth of July. It was busy, but the line moved quickly and everyone was genuinely friendly. You can tell it's a family-owned business, and that comes through in the way they treat their customers. I had the Iced La Minerva, and it was outstanding. The spices really make it - smooth, unique, and delicious. We also picked up a few conchas to take home, and they were excellent. A great addition to Hermosa Beach. It was my first time coming to Cafe Minerva and I loved it! I asked the cashier what she recommended and she asked me what I liked more between chocolate/vanilla/cinnamon I told her I liked vanilla/cinnamon flavors more and she suggested La Minerva Latte with Cajeta Cold Foam and it was sooo good! Her name was Araceli and she was great, and provided amazing customer service! The space is so cute, it's small and very cozy. They have a few seats inside and outside. There's plenty of street parking. Also, their branding is so nice, I love how it all comes together. I'm looking forward to going back soon to try their other drinks & pastries. read more

I stopped by this café on a weekday to meet a friend for coffee, and it was such a lovely experience. There isn't a parking lot, but we were able to find street parking nearby. Just be careful not to block any driveways in the neighborhood. The café itself is cute, cozy, colorful, and welcoming. It's a small neighborhood spot with a few tables outside, along with table and bar seating inside. It's the perfect place for a quick caffeine boost or to catch up with a friend. They offer a variety of drinks, pastries, pan dulce, and croissants. I ordered the iced matcha latte with strawberry foam and a brioche croissant, while my friend got the iced Sacred Vanilla Latte. My matcha was delicious--well balanced and not overly sweet, with the strawberry foam complementing it nicely. The brioche croissant was buttery, slightly sweet, and very flavorful. I also loved the pan dulce; it was soft, fluffy, fresh, and tasted amazing. What really stood out was the kindness of the staff. We were there close to closing time, and they generously gave us extra pastries to take home. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience even more memorable. Service was amazing! The sweet lady at the register was incredibly kind and took the time to walk me through the menu. I never felt rushed instead, she was patient while I decided what to order, which made the experience even better. coffee? Absolutely delicious. Stopped by on a Saturday morning and what stood out the most was the customer service. The smiles! Everyone is friendly and beyond helpful. We asked the cashier about the flavor of their syrup and they provided us a sample without hesitation. Even with the line out the door. after working in customer service, I LOVE THAT. If people are waiting in line, make their experience worth while and ensure they leave the line satisfied and excited for their order. They did just that. We both ordered their vanilla latte. While it wasn't our favorite latte, the service and family oriented environment will make me come back and give them another try. Cafe Minerva is a small cafe located at the heart of Manhattan Beach. Some of the stuff we ordered was their La Minerva, Chori-Man Breakfast Burrito, and La Xocolate. When I found out they sold Cafe De Olla, I immediately informed my husband because of his love for it. While it did have the seasonings, the coffee tasted slightly "stale" on our tongues. We were slightly disappointed, especially because our hobby is to try different coffee and coffee beans. The Xocolate was also a questionable drink. When I first got it, I had to double-take whether I received the right order. It was very watered down. I was expecting something reminiscent of a chocolate drink, but when I took a drink out of it, I barely tasted anything but the syrup. The last thing we ordered was their breakfast burrito. This burrito was probably the highlight of our order! Each bite I took was amazing, and it had the right amount of ingredients in it. The only downside would be the size of it knowing that we paid $12 for it. Overall, if you are looking to try something new in the area, Cafe Minerva would be up your alley! read more

I am thrilled this establishment opened! I am a fan of they have incorporated the culture with the Hermosa Beach vibe and aesthetic. The colors and ambience are inviting. The owner Herman has created a welcoming environment but his baristas and staff are all just as welcoming - that makes a huge difference. It is what sets a commercial coffee shop apart from a neighborhood coffee shop. They have Mexican sweet bread and breakfast burritos too. I ordered the cold brew black (cafe Minerva) and truly enjoyed every sip. It's so earthy and easy on the palate, balanced, smooth. The prices are so reasonable as well. I enjoyed the burrito and look forward to them expanding their menu and hours (I hope a salsa comes with the burrito soon, like a creamy chipotle or something, yum!) If you're in the mood for a cozy, neighborhood coffee shop with chill Hermosa Beach vibes, this is your spot. Come check them out! I definitely will be back. read more

Amazing addition to the neighborhood. Their doors are finally open and we couldn't be more excited. We are obsessed with our go-to order (cafe de olla) and conchas. We look forward to picking up burritos with our coffee on the weekends. Today I tried their warrior cold brew with cold foam and it may be my new favorite! I can't wait to try their matcha too. My wife and I have already put ourselves on a budget, otherwise we would be here once or twice a day. And to top it all off, the couple who owns it could not be more welcoming and friendly towards everyone who walks through the door, excited to share their coffee and food and culture. There is street parking directly in front but limited overall so biking, walking or ridesharing would be best. The owners, Luisa and her husband, were incredibly welcoming and made everyone feel right at home. Their hospitality really stands out. Feeling so grateful (and spoiled!) to have Cafe Minerva around the corner. I became hooked back at their pop ups and got to try cafe de olla for the first time. I stopped here on my way to run errands and the owners are so kind they provided us service even though they were closing up for the day. I got the cold brew with cajeta and it was so good! Just the fuel I needed for the remainder of the day! The shop is clean and inviting. The staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable of their products. I love everything here! I've been coming for a while now, and it's always sooo yummy. My current obsession is the Dirty xhocolate (chocolate + espresso) with strawberry cold foam. You seriously can't go wrong with their Café de Olla either paired with a concha--Everything I've tried has been so good! Their breakfast burritos are also super buss down ‍and the team?! I've been following Cafe Minerva on social media since their pop-up days and I'm excited they are now open! From the moment you walk in the staff is so friendly, like they've known you for years and the music makes you want to dance! I tried the bolillo and iced xocolate and it's absolutely to die for. Growing up I remember getting the mini version of the bolillo so this was very nostalgic for me. Our new favorite coffee shop! I've gone every weekend for my weekend splurge and have not been disappointed. The Cafe de olla Latte with cold foam is my favorite drink ever! And the conchas omg sooooooo good! I'm obsessed with the fact that she did not tone down her culture and instead lets it shine through her delicious drinks. The decor makes me feel at home and I love showing my kids the culture we sometimes lack in our little sleepy beach town. Her staff is amazing always sweet and smiling which you don't always find. This place is absolutely perfect. Not only did it live up to my expectations, but exceeded them. It has such a warm and welcoming vibe, the whole staff is so sweet! My iced La Minerva Latte was easily one of the best lattes I've ever had. Unfortunately I've grown to be pretty picky about my coffee and this one was top notch. The flavors were perfect! There was also what looked like the tough end of lettuce or cabbage placed inside, which made it even more unappetizing. We ended up returning the entire bagel. Service was also slow, even though there was only one person inside, and we waited for quite a while. Overall, this was not a good experience. I hope they take the feedback seriously because the quality and service could definitely be improved.
