Been wanting to try this new coffee shop since it opened recently, and I already look forward to coming back to try more! I ordered the La Minerva latte with their cajeta foam, and it was well-balanced with its blend of spices and rich caramel flavor from the foam. I definitely wanna try their matcha latte next. Parking might be hit or miss since it's street only and a fairly small space that you might miss when driving by. Also, it's family-owned! Show your love and support.

OMG. you GUYS. THIS is the place to be. Street parking, cute seating inside and outside, perfect for people watching and catching up with friends. Melanie (I hope thats how you spell it) was SO kind to us. She was incredible. Brought us waters with our coffee and brought our drinks out to us. Absolutely blown away by the service. The drinks and food were incredible. Everything was so perfect. I had to get a shirt to support even more. Do yourselves a favor and come here ASAP.

Was in the area for fiesta Hermosa and decided to visit café Minerva because I had seen on Instagram that they were open. The mural outside is so welcoming, we felt the positive vibes before we even entered. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the barista. We had some questions about the menu and she was so lovely answering all of our questions. I ended up having the Minerva iced. They also have the option of getting it hot. I loved the mixture of the café de Olla with espresso. It hit the spot. The place is a little small, but they have a really nice area out front. It lets you enjoy your coffee with some friends while enjoying the fresh ocean air.

So happy to have this place in Hermosa Beach. We stopped in on the Fourth of July. It was busy, but the line moved quickly and everyone was genuinely friendly. You can tell it's a family-owned business, and that comes through in the way they treat their customers. I had the Iced La Minerva, and it was outstanding. The spices really make it - smooth, unique, and delicious. We also picked up a few conchas to take home, and they were excellent. A great addition to Hermosa Beach. We'll definitely be back. 5 stars

It was my first time coming to Cafe Minerva and I loved it! I asked the cashier what she recommended and she asked me what I liked more between chocolate/vanilla/cinnamon I told her I liked vanilla/cinnamon flavors more and she suggested La Minerva Latte with Cajeta Cold Foam and it was sooo good! Her name was Araceli and she was great, and provided amazing customer service! The space is so cute, it's small and very cozy. They have a few seats inside and outside. There's plenty of street parking. Also, their branding is so nice, I love how it all comes together. I'm looking forward to going back soon to try their other drinks & pastries.

Excellent coffee shop with the best staff. I stopped here early Sunday morning and there was already a nice stream of people. The coffee was delicious. Can't wait to try the entire menu!

Incredibly warm and kind customer service, delicious chorizo breakfast burrito, the Minerva Lattes were delicious and smooth (my husband had it hot, I had it iced). Conchas were fresh and not dry and crumbly. Really cute place, cool mural with Mexican talavera styling outside and cute merch and stickers, too! Will come back again.

I stopped by this café on a weekday to meet a friend for coffee, and it was such a lovely experience. There isn't a parking lot, but we were able to find street parking nearby. Just be careful not to block any driveways in the neighborhood. The café itself is cute, cozy, colorful, and welcoming. It's a small neighborhood spot with a few tables outside, along with table and bar seating inside. It's the perfect place for a quick caffeine boost or to catch up with a friend. They offer a variety of drinks, pastries, pan dulce, and croissants. I ordered the iced matcha latte with strawberry foam and a brioche croissant, while my friend got the iced Sacred Vanilla Latte. My matcha was delicious--well balanced and not overly sweet, with the strawberry foam complementing it nicely. The brioche croissant was buttery, slightly sweet, and very flavorful. I also loved the pan dulce; it was soft, fluffy, fresh, and tasted amazing. What really stood out was the kindness of the staff. We were there close to closing time, and they generously gave us extra pastries to take home. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this café and look forward to coming back to try more of their drinks and pastries!

Service was amazing! The sweet lady at the register was incredibly kind and took the time to walk me through the menu. I never felt rushed instead, she was patient while I decided what to order, which made the experience even better. coffee? Absolutely delicious. There was something about the cold foam that made it stand out, it was so creamy and flavorful. If you're in the area, don't skip this place. You have to try it!

Cafe Minerva is a small cafe nestled on the familiar street of Aviation, and I think it's my new favorite in HB! I tried their La Minerva iced latte which is sooo yummy, it has a cinnamon aftertaste which blends in really nicely with the coffee. Additionally, the employees are very kind! Show them some love and go give them a try

I am thrilled this establishment opened! I am a fan of they have incorporated the culture with the Hermosa Beach vibe and aesthetic. The colors and ambience are inviting. The owner Herman has created a welcoming environment but his baristas and staff are all just as welcoming - that makes a huge difference. It is what sets a commercial coffee shop apart from a neighborhood coffee shop. They have Mexican sweet bread and breakfast burritos too. I ordered the cold brew black (cafe Minerva) and truly enjoyed every sip. It's so earthy and easy on the palate, balanced, smooth. The prices are so reasonable as well. I enjoyed the burrito and look forward to them expanding their menu and hours (I hope a salsa comes with the burrito soon, like a creamy chipotle or something, yum!) If you're in the mood for a cozy, neighborhood coffee shop with chill Hermosa Beach vibes, this is your spot. Come check them out! I definitely will be back.

Hand packed quart: I love that this is $15/16. In a world where pints are edging closer to $13, it's nice to still know a place that rewards you when buying more from them. I like how the ice cream looks soft enough off the scooping area that the person hand packing the quart can do it relatively quickly. Chocolate: I think it's above average, but I won't question it if you think that it's just fine. Chocolate for me has always been about finding that line of "not too sweet" and finding that hint of bitterness to get you down from that sugary high. I feel that this place finds that balance well. Ambiance: The place is dated, borderline vintage. I think they should lean into it, and I think they do. Service: Professional, quick, and what you want when buying dessert. Yes, there is a line, but it runs pretty quickly.

While I've been here a few times this is my first formal review. I came with my family one Sunday evening on a hot July day, bypassing several chains on the way, including the new(er) Salt and Straw across the street. The inside is packed to the brim with sweets, small toys, and people, much like a candy shop of old. After reaching the front of the winding line our family shared a Banana Split ($13) - three scoops of ice cream, a split banana, hot fudge, a single dry topping (we chose coconut), whipped cream, and a trio of cherries - about as classic as it comes. The ice cream was good but not exceptional. The chocolate and strawberry were fairly generic, but I liked the third scoop of banana foster ice cream which had a nice banana kick. I doubt this ice cream is home made. The complements and construction to the sundae were great, however, and the flavors came together well. As I would hope for a location like this, the staff are local youths who served with patience and passion. In cases throughout the store are several of their other specialties - ice cream cookie sandwiches, dipped frozen bananas, and more - inviting repeat visits. Prices are elevated but not crazy for such a trendy area, although I would say with the middling quality of the ice cream a couple dollars less would be fine. Overall, Manhattan Beach Creamery is a local landmark worth at least a single visit for anyone in the area. If you can get past the generic, if a little boring, ice cream flavor and rampant commodification of the interior, you'll find a classic ice cream parlor with great service and history. Is it worth a repeat visit? I leave that to you. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5
