This property is easily accessible from I-40 at Durham NC. About 20-30 minutes from the airport and conveniently close to malls, hospitals, bookstores, area universities. It is also close to I- 85. The checkin was very easy and my husband and I enjoyed being on the first floor and our suite was very clean. I was concerned that certain items we needed was missing in the suite - the iron, ironing board, light bulbs for the lamps, forks, cooking pans, microwave rack bracket broken, ice machine didn't work. The customer service representative offered to move us to another room but the room available was missing items also. I was really concerned that only one person was on duty in the entire hotel. There was an issue with the WiFi necessitating me to to go up to the lobby very late at night to get the WiFi going. All these gaffes, just hampered my sleep- I felt so tired by the morning. However, I must say - the breakfast was phenomenal/ food was freshly prepared- area very clean, there was spinach, egg omelettes, cutup tomatoes, to name a few. The chef was very nice and helpful - letting me know some of the food available. Covid protection protocol in place- just a wonderful breakfast experience. I feel that the deficiencies in the hotel was a management issue and I take in consideration staffing issues- so the suite was very clean- I would book a reservation again but would take an iron and other sundries.

Kitchen was fully loaded with pots , pans ,silverware clean counters ,cabinets and fridge. Good size kitchen

Nice ,clean and friendly hotel and staff there is always someone ready to help or answer any questions you have. Laundry room is clean as well as weight room. The rooms are nice as well.

Sampling of one of many of these bugs in the hotel room.

PROS-Exterior was very clean, check in and checkout were easy and employees were very friendly. Breakfast was great with many options. Beds were fluffy and very clean. CONS-Bugs!!!!! Bugs were in the kitchen area and bathroom. Kitchen has not been remodeled. Floor board was not properly done so you could see gaps in the wall. Bugs were all over the kitchen laminate and quickly scattered as soon as we turned on the lights. Then they were found in the bathroom, as well. As much as I wanted to like this hotel I was scared that bugs would crawl all over me.

There seems to be two interior dining ares (one with an upstairs balcony) plus a patio and then an open grassy area. It looks like they host many wedding receptions and other special events. I won't comment on the food or service since ours was cooked by a guest chef and served by volunteers, but I can say from what I saw, the owners/staff would do a great job with any event.

The cookery looks great from the outside: color mural on its side-wall, fancy metal, grillwork up front along with a cool sign are the only hints of what lies inside. For this charity dinner they had a bunch of long tables set up family-style for a communal dinner. In back the bar was busy and buzzing with action. And the overall space is not huge but comfortable and lit really well. Accent lights on the rough brick walls created a lot of visual texture for the eye. The space is open but still very personal. A landing area at top was unused and a storage area up front near the ceiling housed what looks like brewing equipment for Ponysaurus (?) Overall the Cookery seems like a great space for a corporate or personal event if you don't have a huge headcount. While there isn't much else right around here, the Cookery is worth the drive out if you've got an excuse for a visit...

If your type is big, strong and handsome [BUILDINGS!], Full Frame Theater's Boiler Room has YOUR name all over it (him? her?). This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. It's a VERY unique event venue flanked by mammoth coal-fired boilers that were used in the original building. You can admire the elevator shaft to the right of the front door, or envision the unseen inside (but very visible outside) base of the Lucky Strike smokestack which The Boiler Room "horeshoes" around. Enormous windows, concrete floors and brick walls give this space the perfect impression for any event [can I plan my next birthday party here?!] No space has ever scream contemporary meets historic so clearly! Plus, doors are open 9am-midnight, SEVEN days a week, so there truly is no reason to miss this drool-worthy space. Secret tip: it's air-conditioned and they've got tall-topped tables and chairs inside along the massive windows. This would be the perfect get-away from the office or {indoor} picnic lunch spot.

He surprised him with a full-sized basketball as a birthday gift, which absolutely made his day! It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture and something he'll definitely remember. Great atmosphere, great staff, and an all-around fun experience. We'll absolutely be back! Highly recommend, especially for a fun family outing or birthday celebration!

I stayed at SpringHill Suites Chapel Hill/Durham for an extended period starting January 21st and…read moreunfortunately experienced a very upsetting situation that I feel other guests should be aware of. After speaking directly with the manager, Yasirys, I was told I could pay my room balance the following morning due to a temporary card issue. Despite this, staff still escalated the situation. I was later denied access to my DoorDash food delivery unless I paid immediately, even though it had already arrived and was at the front desk addressed to me. My food was effectively withheld by the front desk agent, Patricia, and I had to involve police to retrieve it. Officers confirmed the hotel could not legally keep my personal delivery from me. Earlier that same day, another staff member, Renée, refused to provide my child with a basic band-aid due to the payment issue, which I found very concerning. I would also like to add that following the incident, the manager, Yasirys, confronted me in a manner that felt inappropriate and unprofessional. She told me that I was wrong for calling the police on her employee, despite the fact that I only did so in order to retrieve my food and resolve the situation peacefully. This contradiction and confrontation added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. After the incident involving my food delivery, Yasirys, the manager, and her employee, Renée, retaliated against me by requiring me to leave the property after staying there for over two months. Yasirys and Renée even went as far as entering my room without knocking or providing any notice to make me leave. This was a violation of my privacy and made the situation even more distressing. Their actions were not only unprofessional but also unacceptable in terms of basic guest rights, respect, and safety. I'm genuinely confused how another guest who reportedly owed over $13,000 at the time was allowed to remain on the property, while I experienced negative consequences over a balance of only $123.72. This reflects a clear inconsistency in how policies were applied. I observed that other long-term billing situations appeared to be handled differently, which was confusing from a guest perspective. There were also ongoing concerns with the room conditions during my stay, which I documented separately. I made management aware that I was experiencing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, congestion, and a dry throat, which were related to the room conditions. I raised these concerns multiple times, but they were not addressed in a meaningful way. The night before we were forced to leave, my child also became sick, which made the situation even more upsetting. I almost forgot to mention that the room I was staying in was handicap accessible and the manager, Yasirys was rushing me to leave so she could sell it to another guest WITH MOLD IN IT because they were approaching a sold out weekend. I also want to note that during my stay, I went out of my way to support and help multiple employees financially outside of the workplace, so it was especially hurtful to be treated this way in return. Overall, I found communication between management and staff to be very poor, and the handling of the situation felt unprofessional and distressing. This experience was very disappointing and concerning, especially given the health risks and lack of proper response from management. It has been over two weeks since I checked out of the hotel, and my issues still have not been resolved. Based on my experience, I 10/10 do NOT recommend!!!! I hope this review encourages the hotel to take guest concerns more seriously moving forward.
