Overall, they are professional and prompt, and my pool always looks fantastic. I can tell because I receive weekly reports. While I should have left them a review years ago, their recent supererogatory service prompted me to do so now. On Friday, I received a call from Troy telling me that the entire water line had been shut off - both to the house and outdoors. This is a big deal with a property with a pool! I called the PM, and the assistant director of property management had no idea how to handle it. Well, something needs to be done soon because if the water runs low, my pool equipment could be jeopardized! Since I am far and since the PM is poorly run, I called back Troy asking for advice. He offered to turn off the pump for me. This entailed an extra drive over, on a weekend, to turn off the pump. When he got there, he found the pump was struggling to pull water as the water had fallen below the skimmer. If this wasn't found and corrected when it was, the pump would have gone out, which would of costed me thousands of dollars. So, thank you Troy! Your going above and beyond is greatly appreciated.

Update 2026: After 3 years I've terminated service with Tartan Pools. This last half year has been…read morenothing but problems for us. Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs. Very sad I liked this company.

They would always do an amazing job when they are doing your pool themselves. When we started with them they even allowed me to use their pump at no cost to pump the water out of the pool. So generous. However over the last year or so they have, what I believe, gotten so busy that they have had to hire new people or contract out to other pool cleaners. I think this was due to the owners amazing work ethic. However as that change happened the service and cleanliness of my pool declined. Over that time I have had to maintain my pool more than when the owners were taking care of my pool. I had to fix a mold problem myself when one of their fill ins wasn't taking care of it. I have had to also get in the pool myself and clean the drain of things that should have been taken care of. Also I assume one of the randoms that cleaned the pool messed with the valves and it wasn't working very well. I got it back to perfect now and its cleaning perfectly. Maybe my lack of communication with them led to us having to part ways due to these issues and one other, but if a company hires someone to do a job the owners were doing before make sure they are trained well and can pay attention to detail. I would highly highly recommend them to anyone if the owners will be the ones cleaning your pool. However if you can't get them to do it themselves, sadly I can't recommend them unless more training for their employees can happen.

They make you sign a contract which I don't have a problem with and then they tell you that they want to take every single holiday off etc... Which is absolutely ridiculous because the people with pools we typically use the pool for family gatherings etc. during the warm holiday seasons. My main problem with them is that when my filter broke he acted like he didn't know what happened and then told me that I needed to hire someone else to fix it! Leaving me on my own and even more money to spend! . The next two service treatments they left lots of dirt and grid in the pool and didn't even take the time to fish out the debris in the shallow end! Very lazy in my opinion Even after I asked him to remedy the dirty leaves at the bottom of the pool since I was paying them $115 per month! So I went and head and told him that I no longer need his services. When I hired my new pool guy he was very certain that these guys broke my manifold and gasket for my filter he said it had to of been someone pushing it down really hard. So that just goes to show that they're not honest and they do not take care of their clients! Run don't walk away from these people! From now on I'm only getting word of mouth referrals from my friends and neighbors not some phone number off of a truck that I see ! Update!
