July 4th Breakdown…read more My unit outside mad a screeching noise so I went outside and could smell burnt electrical. I turned off our A/C but it was midnight after the 4th of July. Most companies wouldn't be available to call until Monday. I decided to look and found Highland Heating and Air. I called John and he let me know there would be an Emergency Service Fee. I said that was no problem, but would he come out at 1am to fix our A/C. He said Yes. He started checking our outside unit and found multiple problems from previous work done by other companies. We had several things miss wired including a hard start unit that was burned and exploded. Our fan we recently had replaced on the condenser unit was turning the wrong way. There were extra unattached wires that were also causing sparking. I was lucky the unit even ran and more lucky I didn't have a fire. John spent until 2am fixing and rewiring every problem. When he was done, not only did it work, it was So smooth and quiet. The A/C worked great last night and the house was cool so I could sleep and recover from my emergency surgery. I am definitely sticking with John and Highland A/C after he was so kind and professional on a Late Night call for help after a Holiday.
