Looking for delicious steaks and the best ambiance in Lakeview?! You just give them a try. The food, service and location are great - one of fav local, neighborhood spots. You actually have 3 sections to dine - main dining room, bar dining area (my fav, walk in and grab a seat) and the actual bar! So cute and quant. I always order the same thing the the food is so consistent. Here are a few of my favs: crabmeat salad, oysters, fresh fish of the day, and of course the filet mignon with creamed spinach and au gratin on the side!!! *Locally owned and operated by the Roth Family and serving New Orleanians for 40 years. Creamed Spinach, Fried Oysters, Garlic Spinach, Gulf Fish Robert, Pinot Noir,

I can only speak to the bar service, as my husband and I popped in for cocktails recently, but I can speak loudly. Do yourself a favor and have a frozen Brandy Alexander!! It's without a doubt one of my favorite specialty cocktails in the entire city. "What's the atmosphere like?", you ask. We'll it's casual, friendly and laid back. The service is wonderful and the crowd is a happy one. A big plus - some guy walked in and asked for a Stoli martini. Nope - no Stoli my good man. Thank you Steak Knife for showing your support for the Ukrainian folks. Stop in and have a drink at the Steak Knife when you get a chance.

Wow!! Wow. The blessing my pallet received when trying Steak Knife for the first time!! I love this restaurant. It's typically a locals dining bar hangout in a classy setting and phenomenal food. We went on a Saturday night and sat at the end of the bar. Everyone knew everyone. It was very welcoming and nice to see the bar chatter. Our server was happy to offer their suggestions which we took. We started out with the onion rings to share as that's typically an appetizer dish in Nola steakhouses. Followed by the filet, potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach. Top tier creamed spinach - it's a must. A friend had French fries with his steak and I highly recommend French fries dipped in the creamed spinach (lol). It's unreal! Everything was fantastic I can't wait to return. I recommend all martinis. We each tried a few but the Appletini and dessert martini was our favorites. The dessert martini had a unique name but it was essentially a spiked chocolate vanilla milkshake. Highly recommend finishing your evening off with one.

The steak was under seasoned & underwhelming...not very flavorful. The crabmeat au Gratin was light & delish with some of the best potatoes au Gratin I've ever tried. No doubt we'll visit this well established restaurant again. I almost forgot to give our server Brett his kudos...he was informative & patient with our indecisiveness because I wanted 1 of everything!

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

The Caesar salad was also very good, and the Pornstar Martini was a great drink choice. I ordered the picanha steak medium, but unfortunately, it was surprisingly chewy and did not meet my expectations. The food was really good overall, but the empanadas were definitely a standout--absolutely delicious and something I'd come back for on their own. That said, while everything was enjoyable, there was just something missing that kept it from being a full 5/5 for me. I can't quite put my finger on it--nothing was wrong, it just didn't completely wow me. Still, it's a great spot with a beautiful atmosphere and solid food!

We got there a little before they opened but since it was raining they let us in and we waited off the side until they officially opened. Let me start by saying the restaurant is gorgeous! The ambience was grown and sexy and definitely gave fine dining. The waitress was pleasant and gave recommendations because I had no idea what to get. We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

That being said, even though we were wearing casual tourist clothes we felt very welcomed by the staff. We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful, the music playing, the staff was incredible as was the food. There was so much to take in as far as interior design. We loved it. We had some sort of steak, a starter and a salad. This was about a week ago, so I don't really remember exactly what we ordered. That being said the next night we tried a different restaurant with great reviews in the same neighborhood. The ambience was great there, but the food did not measure up. Immediately after that meal, we walked back to Morrow Steak to finish our trip on a high note. We shared the cauliflower starter again as well as a dessert this time - which was something I'd never heard of but incredible some sort of cheesecake that was purple. The first night we sat at a table and the second time we sat at the bar - and it was an equally wonderful experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and efficient. Again we were wearing casual clothes. Out of respect to the other patrons, I wish I had packed nicer clothes to wear but don't let this detour you if you didn't pack them. We had multiple servers, our drinks never ran dry, we had plenty of warm French bread and it didn't take long to get the food. I split a steak (22oz Ribeye) and my favorite part is that I can get a side of onion rings and fries together. I am not sure why other restaurants won't do this. I would not be able to eat a huge pile of these large onion rings or fries so the half and half is genius. I also tried the creamed spinach, which could use a tad bit more seasoning. The live music established a really nice ambiance. There were customers sitting around the piano having drinks while the musician was performing. It was an excellent Friday night experience. I also had the crab bisque. It was okay okay. The fifth star is because we left a gift bag outside of the restaurant and didn't think about it until dinner was over. Some amazing person turned it in and the staff remembered that one of their customers had the bag so, they held it in the back until we came forward. Amazing.

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. We saw on the menu that checks could not be split, which was fine even though split would be preferable to us. So, when our server told us the check can't be split but she can "take multiple cards" I was a bit confused and asked if she could explain more since that's what we might do, since she said it was possible. Already there she gave attitude and said I don't know how else to explain it to you in a rude tone. After we finished our food, we asked her to take multiple cards for the check and she told us to write on the back what to charge each card. I apologize that I did misunderstand what she meant, and put the items rather than the exact amount to charge each card. She came back and said, "you did exactly what I said not to do." So I said sorry and was in the midst of redoing it by calculating when she just snatched it from me and said she'll just do it. I had no problem doing it nor did we complain even once. After a while, understandably, she came back and basically scolded us, saying what if she was busy she wouldn't have been able to do this....but she said she could do it in the first place! We understood from the get go no split checks but then she gave the option of multiple cards so obviously we took it. The food was good and the ambience was nice. I enjoyed the open kitchen concept and seeing the pizza oven. But the service ruined it for me. I work the food industry and would have never acted this way.
