I visited Steak N Shake 2355 North Point Ct, Alpharetta, GA 30022 today and was not happy with my visit. I rarely eat fast food, very rarely. But, like I said only thing open and my husband was craving burgers. Walking in smelled like grease. The location looked filthy and this was just eye balling it. Headed in to the restrooms and not happy with what I saw. Nothing related to the uneducated customer can be but the actual bathroom in itself is not kept clean. Back outside the booths, the table, walls, menus, and even the disposable paper placemats were just disgusting. I had to use a napkin to grab the menu. Server was extremely nice, they were understaffed so he was outstanding at keeping everything under control. As for me, it was very hard to make a choice because again I am not fond of fast food restaurants. I decided to go with the Chili Mac. When it arrived I immediately lost my appetite and I was starving. There was basically no chili, it was a plate over flowing with spaghetti and 3 tablespoons of I guess "chili" thrown on top. The one star is honestly just for the food because the entire store is far from any standards, and because of that it ruined the whole experience for me. I have never been inside a steak n' shake before and I had only gone through once in their drive thru and the food was really good. I didn't know that there were servers here, but it took awhile to get our orders in. Our server was really nice but it was really gross on the tables, the chairs, the floors, the walls, the menus, the silverware, the condiments. I don't really know how long that establishment has been there but it looked like it hadn't been clean since it opened. Their were hand prints on the glass. Everything looked stained. The menus had smeered chocolate on them. There were ants on the table. Just really awful. It's a real shame because the food tastes good but if the inside looks like that I would hate to see how the kitchen looks. And it kind of bothers me that there are servers because I do make sure I tip but when the store is somewhat empTy and the employees are on their phones and everything is disgusting it mad me somewhat angry at the whole experience. This steak and shake was a little difficult to find, it is tucked behind Wendy's and Taco Bell. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant itself was very busy. It is Saturday afternoon but I did not expect to see a line out the door waiting for seats. Because it had a small party, we were seated fairly quickly and then we sat....for a good ten minutes before we were acknowledged. After another couple of minutes someone came to take our drinks order. We ordered a single burger, a frisco burger, bowl of chili, fries, small shake and a coke. When the plates arrived, we were missing the chili, the shake and the single burger was missing half the patty. Trying to get our waitress attention was futile, I had to walk over to the window and ask her for the items missing, at which point she looked at the shake window and said "your milkshake is over there, and the chili is next to this order". Ive lived in alpharetta for over 10 years so ive been to this steak n shake location's drive through a decent amount of times. they always get the initial order right, but any special requests you might have are completely ignored (for example: no tomato, no pickles, please put these condiments in the bag, ect.) normally when youre going through a drive through this wouldnt be that big of a deal cuz u can straight up say "hey u didnt do this or that", but 90% of the time they will ask you to pull around to the front of the store to wait for your order to be ready. then, obviously, when they come out to hand it to you, they are not gonna stand around and wait till you check if your burger is topped with what you asked for or whatever condiments are in the bag. i know this is a moderately small concern, but im writing this review less for the customers and more for management- if i ask for something nicely i expect it to be done properly. (especially when everything at this place is super overcharged and the drive through wait is crazy long) if ur gonna ask me to pay this much and wait i my car outside the place for 5+ minutes i expect to get what i asked for. nuff said lol steak n shake food is good tho. no doubt. also i dont have much experience with the sit down at this place so maybe u will have better luck if u try that read more

OMG!!!!!! hate the server When we got to the restaurant we had to wait for them to seat us for a long time and it wasn't even busy. They also had so many seats open. After that everything went horrible. When we got our food we also ordered a milkshake but by the time we got the milkshake we wanted to go home and it took so long. Whoa their service is so good here. Especially in the mornings! I came at 8:30/9AM on a Sunday. Food: 10/10: if you have had steak n shake before, the food is same everywhere. So come here to expect the taste you had before. I ordered my usual Chili mac supreme w/ out onions. I add hot sauce always. They later brought me crackers and parm cheese- wow! How nice! Service: 10/10: every time I asked for something, bam, it arrived in less than a minute. And things I didn't have, another waiter came by and offered it. I've never left a yelp review until today that's how horrible my experience was. 1) our waiter had the WORST attitude 2) I asked for a milkshake and she later came back saying that their machine was broken and not even 10 minutes later I saw another server give their customer a milkshake.. so either she lied just because she didn't feel like making one or the machine magically started working again and if that was the case she could have came back and said "hey our machine is back up and working would you still like that shake" 3) she didn't give us napkins my bf had to get up and ask her and she gave him an attitude and gave them to him and sarcastically said "you're welcome". I'm Giving this 3 stars for the food and mostly the milkshake. Got the chocolate banana shake. It was so good with real bananas. Also ordered the double n chz burger. It was very good as well! Fries are lol and skinny and pretty tasty and coleslaw was good. The only complaint I have is the employees. There were a lot standing around when we arrived. One, being very loud on her phone telling someone to do it again(prob her kids) and the server was not great. We actually got up to pay before he ever came by our table. This is absolutely the worst Steak 'n Shake I have ever been to. Every single time it's "something else" that inconveniences them. I am ALWAYS asked to pull to the front and wait for food even if I'm just ordering a coke. The first time we had a problem was when the rude long haired lady (most of the time it's in a long braid down her back) brought out food out to the front , which took 20 minutes. She forgot straws and then when we asked her for straws she replied " if you need something else you are just going to have to wait again" basically asking us to just leave with out straws. Today I come in and order a Frisco melt and before she asks me to "pull to the front" per usual at this horrible fast food location... she gives me my 3 dollars IN FUCKING CHANGE. They had used spaghetti straight out of the refrigerator so it was cold, even adding the measley bit of chilli onto it didn't begin to warm it up. I noted a lot of mixed reviews concerning this location but I've dined here about 4 times and never had any issues so today I am Yelping my experience and it was great! Customer service was on point, our waiter was very very nice and accomodating. Now I know its just Steak and Shake, but still falls under that "fast food" catagory. Well just because it does, doesn't mean the quality of service or foods served should faulter. My co-worker and I arrived for lunch today about 1:30pm-ish. We were greeted immediately, seated and our waiter was right at our table. He noticed we had coupons and we were ready to place our orders right away. I had the all beef dawg with guacomole, fries and a junior banana shake. My co-worker had the Royale' burger with egg, onion rings and a new shake flavor, Salted Carmel Pretzel. Steak and Shake RULES with the real milkshake flavors and are constantly adding new ones too. Since we were there past 2pm , we got the 1/2 price deal on shakes:-) Love a good deal. So here's an updated experience for walking in...place was clean aside from 1 table that was just recently emptied by some patrons that had left. So disappointed yesterday me and my co-worker came here for breakfast we had a little more than an hour to kill before work so we went here we arrived at 7:48 we were seated immediately. There was 1 table with 4 guys who had already been served and were eating. Two men walked in at the same time we did. He asked for drink order, but didn't return for 10 mins (7:59) when he came back didn't ask for if we were ready to order and our menu's were closed. He just sits the oj's down and walks away and proceeds to completing the orders for the 2 men who walked in after us as well as 2 other groups smh. We waited another 10mins, no I'll be with you in a minute or apology. The worse part there was a Hispanic older lady in the back who made eye contact with us numerous times and never came to assist us or her fellow employee who was clearly getting backed up. At this time we are both fed up with the svc so we walked out after a little over 20 mins of waiting and having other people orders taking before ours although we had been there 5-10 before them. Oh yea and the server had an attitude when he saw us walk out and rolled his eyes .....so unprofessional! I called this location on the phone earlier to inquire about a discrepancy I discovered in my subtotal as shown on the receipt I received. Turns out the app misrepresented an upcharge for one of my meals. The manager I spoke with came across as very condescending, and rudely hung up on me as soon as the discrepancy was discovered. Be careful about walking into this restaurant if you are blind and have a service dog. My husband, our son, and I went to the Steak 'n Shake location in Alpharetta at 10:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 21. My husband had his service dog with him. The dog was trained at The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ. We walked in and went to place our order at the touch screen ordering location, also not blindness friendly. Our son placed the order and took us to a booth in the front of the restaurant. The staff told us they would not serve us unless we moved to the back of the restaurant. Our son got very angry on our behalf and told them to call the Alpharetta PD if they wanted to do so. He told them that these dogs are, by law, allowed anywhere and allowed to be in any seating area of the location. They still refused service and voided our transaction. We left but I am locating any review site I can to give them the worst review possible. I thought we had gotten past the era of discrimination but I was wrong. It reminded of the time when Rosa Parks was ordered to sit in the back of the bus and refused to do so. Perhaps we should gather a group of guide dog users and go stage a sit in. read more

This location is absolutely disgusting!! Our family ate in the dining area, and I could see the grease on the tables, menus and even on the clear dividers between the tables. It looks like this restaurant hasn't been cleaned properly in years. If this is in clear site of the customers, I can only imagine what the kitchen and back room looks like. I'm surprised that they're still open, and our family travels to other Steak and Shake locations that are further from our home just so we don't eat at this one. Unfortunately steak and shake has a reputation of taking a million years to produce anything remotely edible. This one is of no exception. I came here on a Tuesday night with a friend trying to order a milkshake for both of us, and while there were only a few other patrons there we waited half an hour. Well at first they were nice taking my order and then got to the window and she was nice at first but then as I was handed my food, I thanked her and no response just plain rude. She also hands me a cup with the lid not on all the way and the cup is so flimsy that I tore a little hole in it and then she sees it but doesn't offer to take back. And then when I start to get a drink with my food the drink busts and spills all over me and the car and then also the food doesn't take right. Atrocious. The food is like any other Steak 'n Shake. Not bad food to be so inexpensive. I have decided I need another cheap burger joint because this company seems to hire the dregs of society to work there, with only a few exceptions. Service: rotten to the core. I stood at the counter for over 5 minutes to place a to-go order. At least 4 employees just looked at me without coming over to ask what I needed. When one finally did, he asked if I was there to "cash out." I said, "no" and that I was there to place an order to go. For some reason, he was surprised. Cleanliness: less disease-ridden than the streets of Calcutta, but I do wonder if there is a nutritional benefit to synthetic hair, considering how much of it littered the surfaces due to the staff letting their manes flop about freely. How is this allowed in food service? One employee had completely loose, untied hair. At least the others had their multiple braid-weaves partially restrained. Hair nets, people. Please. The whole place stank of rotten milk. The employees were having a loud complaint-fest right out in the open, allowing everyone to hear them griping about their jobs.
