I haven't been to Zaxbys in years but saw a new advertisement for NEW chicken tacos! I had to try them! Liam behind the counter was so sweet and we later saw he was the employee of the month! I can see why! I ordered one Chipotle Ranch Chicken Finger taco ($3) and one Avocado Ranch Chicken Finger taco ($3). They were ok but definitely needed some more ingredients in the taco (cheese or lettuce). If there was a little more ingredients in the tacos, they would be worth it. There's room for improvement. If the goal is to create mediocre food then Zaxby's has nailed it! How disappointing. In general there is just not too much as far as redeeming value to the food here. I know this is "fast" food but honestly they could afford to slow it down a bit and concentrate on making it good. Heck in the long run they really are not that fast anyway! And how about putting someone behind the register that you can understand? I mean if they are taking your order they should at least be able to talk! I had a very long first day in Atlanta during my work day last year at the very end of the year. I checked in my hotel, unpacked and collapsed on the sofa due to exhaustion. I had not eaten all day except for a candy bar and some coffee. I needed some food, but didn't want to drive far or drive at all. So i looked at my Doordash app and discovered there was a Zaxby's nearby that had delivery. I have never eaten Zaxby's before, and was curious. I always heard their chicken was good, so I ordered some wings, tenders, fries, and Texas toast. Once I got it delivered, I dug into it. The Texas toast and fries were alright. The wings were delicious and flavorful, but I would not say they were the best I would ever have like I heard from some people. The tenders, though, those were amazing. What a disappointment! I haven't satisfied my chicken wing fix in a while. We hadn't eaten at any Zaxby's in several months. We stopped into the Alpharetta Zaxby's around 5:00pm this Friday evening (4-21-23). The place was deserted. Hmmmm. That was a warning sign that I should have heeded, but I didn't. I ordered a Wings and Things plate and my dear wife ordered a Cobb salad. My bone-in chicken wings were about the size of sparrow wings and dried out, like they had been cooked originally cooked around noontime. They had the wrong hot sauce on them too (mild and not spicy). The French fries, 5 bone-in wings, 3 chicken tenders and the slice of Texas toast were all about room temperature. The Texas toast also was like it was left-over from the lunch rush several hours earlier. My wife fared somewhat better and said her Cobb salad was "okay". We KNOW Zaxby's can do better than this. Maybe the big "Help Wanted" sign at the entrance drive was also a hint. Next time I need my hot wing fix we'll go to Taco Mac - they seem to do better - plus you can get a beer to drink with your meal. read more

I dined in at Zaxby's, Alpharetta today!  What a terrific experience.  Kickin' Chicken with a tasty Fanta Zero Orange from the Freestyle dispenser (they use the drive thru Freestyle dispenser vs. the lobby dispenser).  I was very impressed by the sanitation and social distancing measures they have in place.  A clear entry and exit route, they have some tables closed, some are open, everybody wearing masks, physical plexiglass barriers at the registers, frequent cleaning of all surfaces.  For refills they provide a brand new drink vs. using the existing cup.  Very impressed.  I had no reservations dining in whatsoever!  I also met the owner, Ron.  What a great guy.  It is clear he takes service, customer experience and well being very seriously. read more

I have eaten at this location many times and was shocked today by their customer service. my family of four were dining in and purchased 4 meals. my daughter requested Zax sauce with her wing meal and was told you got the sauce cause I packed it when she went to the counter. I then went to the counter with her meal to show there was no sauce. Andy said I gave her ranch cause that's what that meal comes with. He refused to give us a sauce packet. Santiago said 'I saw him pack it' . The manager came and apologized but did nothing. When we left Juan approached us in the parking lot said 'you need to go clean your table'. I have been here several times and always have a nice experience. While sometimes packaging is a little rushed and can be tossed in the bag it's usually very neatly done and presentable. Food is always delicious and done to my liking. My only complaint is that I almost always struggle to hear the gentleman running the drive through. This location is a good choice before the lunch rush. They have great salads and of course the food is just wonderful most times. I do feel that the prices are crazy for a salad, but it is good. The parking lot around lunch times, can resemble a concert venue, but people are eager for some good chicken wings and fingers. This location has a dangerous drive thru that traps customers within a large curb. The turn is very tight and once you drive in you cannot get out if people are in front and behind you. My elderly father had an emergency and was trapped in the drive thru and could not get out. It's also hard to negotiate without damaging your car. The food is pretty good. Their wings and chicken fingers are what I usually get. The service on my last visit wasn't so good. I realize things aren't the same anymore because of the pandemic so I ordered online hoping I could just walk in and get my order, which I have in many other burger joints locally. In fact one just had my bag sitting on the table with my name on it and I just walked up and took it. Sure this is an honor system but as far as I know they are still doing it. In contrast Zaxbys you have to walk in and go stand at the counter (walking very close past other patrons). On my visit I spoke to the worker at the counter and gave her my last name. She walked around all confused. Even after I gave my name several more times. 10 mins passes with more confusion from the workers. Finally the manager (who seemed to be training the girl at the registrar during the lunch rush) found my order, which was sitting on the counter there the whole time and gave it to me. When I ordered online also it gives you the option of making your drink decision in the store. Might as well just do that online because you can't fill your own drink. I'll still go there but frankly you're better off just going through the drive thru. You will get priority because they want to clear that queue out faster and there is no confusion as to who's order is who's with all the orders sitting behind the counter. read more

People might laugh at this review, but I have to be honest. This Zaxby's location has become me and my husband's official "date night spot," for very good reasons: - Delicious food - Clean dining area - Good value for the amount of food you get - GREAT sweet tea w/ plenty of lemons - Courteous staff . . . need I say more? Well, actually I will -- There is only one thing that I order at Zaxby's and that's the Fried House Salad. Zaxby's is the only fast food restaurant that I know of that will serve a salad (on a real glass plate) with fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots, cheese, etc. AND the salad is huge! For under $7, you get a salad with juicy fried chicken that is comparable to a salad you would get at Houston's or any expensive restaurant. Acutally, let me take that back . . . the Zaxby's salad is actually better than what you would get at a so-called "high-end" restaurant. It's really that good. So, before you start to judge me for eating at a chain fast food restaurant, I am a true foodie that typically frequents some of the wonderful restaurant establishments that Atlanta has to offer, HOWEVER, when I'm on a budget and time is of the essence, Zaxby's ALWAYS delivers. Lastly, the only beef that I have with Zaxby's is that they don't have any locations that are located ITP (except for one on Memorial Dr.), however that complaint is not worth me taking their rating down a star. :-) Remember, don't hate on Zaxby's until you try it! read more

Went to pick up lunch for my toddler on the way home. A kiddie fingers meal. Got all the way home and there wasn't any sauce in the bag or seasoning on the fries. Called to see what they could do (i believe the woman i spoke to is Liora) and they said I could come back in for a replacement. I asked if I could get a card for a kids meal another time instead and they said no. Went back to get the replacement and interacted with the same woman from the phone, Liora. I am guessing she was the manager? I saw the people in the back put the chicken finger meal and a Zac sauce on the counter. The lady put the little box in the bag and brought it to me but left the sauce. I pointed it out and she wouldn't even look at the counter she just told me I was wrong and the sauce was in the bag. There was a sauce in the bag but I didn't see her put it there. When I saw she had indeed put one in I said oh, okay well thanks and walked out to my car. I decided to check the box before leaving and again there was no seasoning on the fries. I walked back in with the fries in hand and said there was no seasoning again. She asked if i just wanted more seasoning as if there had been some on the fries and it just wasn't enough for me. She handed me a little container of seasoning and I opened the box to show her they were plain. She then turned around to the kitchen staff and yelled at them that this was the second time the same lady complained about no seasoning on the fries. She said nothing else to me and left me standing there. All the staff behind the counter was just watching me stand there wondering what was happening next while the lady went about her business. The bun was squished from one side and the chicken fingers must have been out of the fryer into the bun that the tomato and lettuce were cooked by the still hot meat. Chicken fingers had no taste what so ever. I decided I didn't want to put this crap into my stomach so I threw away the sandwich and just ate the fries! Not an appetizing meal. This location is close to our office, so we order for 10-12 people about twice per month. I've tried to order online, but options for changing your order are extremely limited. For example, you can't order a Cobb salad with the blackened chicken. When I called to place my order, I was told I needed to order online that they were not supposed to take call in orders. I thought maybe they'd updated there website, but they did not. I was still not able to order several of the meals the way we wanted. I called back explained, and they grudgingly took my order. If someone hadn't already been on their way to get it, I wouldn't have bothered. Truly not worth the hassle when there are so many other places to choose from that care about repeat customers. I thought I had lost my wallet at this Zaxby's' location but I subsequently found it in my car. Prior to that I asked the Zaxby's' staff if they had seen the wallet. They had not, but went beyond the call of duty by checking trash cans, the booth where I sat, and reviewing the video tape which confirmed I had put the wallet in my back pocket.
