PLease warm the buns. I visited twice in a 3 week period and both times the buns were ice cold. That completely ruins the burger. Other than that, the fries and tots were very good and the burger was tasty with the exception of the cold bun. Decided to eat there today on their announcement that all burgers are now from cattle that is 100% grass fed. What a difference! The food was delicious and so were the fries now cooked only in beef tallow. I told my friend it was like like stepping back in time to 1969. The ambiance has not changed since my 20 years of going to this location. It looks exactly like how I remembered it except they have screens instead of servers. I recall the food here being decent for the price. I don't even recall how the food got to our table but it wasn't that quick. The steak burger was decent but not really memorable besides it being smaller than I recall. Maybe my hands got bigger. I doubt it. It was salty enough for me to enjoy it but not distinctive enough compared to any other fast food burger. The fries were lukewarm and crispy. My wife is crispy-thin-fries gal and I'm more of a chunky I want-my-fries-to-actually-taste-like-potatoes kind of guy. The milkshake was too sweet. Maybe my palate has changed for the past decade or so but I've always thought as American milkshakes as too sweet. I recenly read that we eat 5x more sugar than the average Japanese. I am partial to steak and shake... great burgers, the most awesome fries when they are cooked fresh, and the shakes can be outstanding! This particular one can be great or it can be good... but it is always tasty. The service at the drive through is mostly good but we have had a few mishaps as well. The inside could use a bit more cleaning.. but again most of the time is it brett good. In the world of fast food Steak and Shake gets my vote for a top 3 burger for sure! read more

I went to try the new beef tallow fries. They were fresh fried and very good. The drive-thru was quick. I got my burger and fries in a couple minutes. The health score was posted on the window and it showed "100." As good as the fries were, the burger is the best part. We try to stay away from fast food burgers but when it's really inevitable (lol) we drive to Steak's Shake (Alpharetta) and we are all always satisfied. Everything is just fine, the shakes, the burgers, the fries, and even the price. That's not easy! At other fast food places you always end up liking one thing but not the other. Isn't it? Food was good and hot. I had an issue with having to have a barcode to scan to get soda. Took 4 times to read the barcode to engage the fountain. Profit on soda is like 90 to 95 percent why be so cheap here with drinks. You would not have this problem if you had staff in the seating area like when you had table service. I went to the drive through and placed my order. The employee who took my order was very courteous and professional. Once I got to the window to pay he told me he couldn't take nothing larger than a 50. We I said "That's all I had " He kept repeating himself. Sooo...hmmm. Let me start with the pros. Kids eat "free" on the weekends which means with every adult who has a meal that higher than 9 dollars which is actually misleading and pretty difficult to accomplish here. And kids eat free is only the food with ends up being 2.99 at most and not the drink which is another 2.99 if you want a shake. But seeing how my family of four at for $18 on a Sunday I really am not complaining that much about the cost of the meal! So as far as the food I'm a huge Steak 'n Shake fan! I had the garlic burger and it didn't disappoint especially after adding the grilled onions yum! I love the fries but many people complain about the size of the fries and that they are not all that big or filling. Think of a smaller Mc Donald's fries. I didn't have one today but the shakes are so good too I've been a fan for years of the burgers and shakes and they are so cheap and so many choices of burger and shakes like at least 20 kinds of each to choose from. If I could give zero stars I would. Took like 10 minutes to get to cheeseburgers and two orders of fries. I had a cold slab of cheese straight out of the refrigerator on my cheeseburger. Who doesn't melt cheese on a cheeseburger? The bread was dry and stale and the fries had a weird flavor to them. When I asked the girl for ketchup, she looked at me with a deer in the headlights look and closed the window; not nodding, not saying yes, no, go to hell...nothing. Funny, I tried it years ago and my daughter really wanted a cheeseburger so we tried it again and I know why I haven't been back in three years. I don't even know how this location is still open. Hopefully it closes soon and they get some thing in there that's good with people who care about the food they are serving. I was going to get a shake at Chick-fil-A by the North Point Mall, but the drive-thru line was too long. I drove around the corner and found the Steak 'n Shake tucked behind. The positive is that they have a Happy Hour. From 2 to 5 PM, their beverages are 50% off. So, it only cost me around $1.60 for a milkshake. The negative is the thickness of the shake. The milkshake was cold and refreshing, but it was so thick that I could barely get it through the straw. You'd probably have to let the milkshake melt a little before you can drink it through a straw. read more

The drive-thru service was fairly quick and okay. What I didn't like was the mediocre food preparation process. I clearly saw the associate wipe my milk shake, and my thought was, "Oh boy, this is going to be sticky." Well... Although she did wipe the darn thing down, the lid was still loose and my shake was drippy when she handed it to me. ???
