Gag!!! THis place is NASTY! When you first walk in you are greeted with a very offending smell that smells like idk, cow crap. Undoubtedly the worst meal we have had in years along with the worst service. Our flight crew stopped here for a quick bite. Well that's what we thought it was going to be.. after a half an hour of waiting for a grilled cheese & Burgers we asked our waitress who was virtually non-existent where our food was. She said and I Quote "Let me go axe" we then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes before she returned saying that it would be right out. 10 minutes later she brought out what appeared to be a grilled cheese sandwich which consisted of two slices of American cheese slapped between two pieces of toasted bread. Emaciated overcooked burgers with accoutrements askew. We did not have any napkins or condiments on the table and she never came back needless to say we didn't leave a tip all our food was ice cold. Well, after going there I realized why it had been a while. First of all the service at the window was atrocious! The girl was very rude and seemed more concerned with talking to her coworkers than being polite and kind and doing her job. She acted uppity and stuck up which is funny for someone working at a fast food window. She was more focused on her coworkers and talking than anything else. So we went here last week for something different but really sucked we came in here at all. The floors are not clean. The atmosphere is horrible. The plates and silverware were dirty. Not just hard water dirty. You could see grease smudges on my plate and ketchup was still on my daughters plate and she hadn't used ketchup. First off, I want to add that if yelp gave me the option to have negative stars, I would take that approach. Many things were wrong with my horrid experience at Steak n Shake on airline dr. We can start with the service with a subpar half dead zombie lady that I can only assume hasn't slept in a week. (And treated us how she looked) With half assed service and not understanding the simple task of splitting a bill it made our experience from a simple dinner, to a headache to pay for. I won't call out the waitress specifically but her name starts with S and ends with abrina. I could have forgiven the former if the food was at least subpar. But I sadly report that it wasn't even close to that. My burger was bathed in what I can only hope was grease, making the entire burger a sloppy mess. Normally I don't have a problem here the service is usually fast...and the food is usually good...however tonight was not the night. My family came to the restaurant after my son's graduation with a party of 16 .I understand that there was only 2 waitresses working..but it's a Friday night..there should be more. When the waitress finally came we told her that the other table was out party also..she said I can't take there order that's a different waitresses area. My husband and I came here to get some food after I got out of work. It was late. It looked like we had just missed a huge rush. There were a couple of large groups still there when we came in. Dispite all of this, our server Dy took excellent care of us. Even though I'm sure she was tired and ready to go home. We didn't have to wait long for any of our food or shakes. She made sure that all of our order was to our liking, offered to fix anything that might be wrong. (Nothing was wrong. This was our first visit to this location but have enjoyed other Steak and Shakes. Upon seating our server informed us they were out of Sprite, Root Beer, bananas, and two other items I can't recall. We ordered drinks for our party of four. She brought back three of the four drinks forgetting mine. We reminded her and placed out order. We waited a solid fifteen minutes for our meals to arrive in which time she did not return with my beverage. There were about 8 servers working and only 4 tables of customers. We watched our server stand and chat with other servers at the drink station but she still didn't bring my coke. When we finally received our meals we asked again for my drink and more napkins. Went to steak n shake for a quick dinner omg home ordered a number 5 with chilli cheese fry. The cashier was named Noah something a bigger kid the guy who make the fid brought it to him he picked up the chilli chest fry looked at them and chuckled said something the the guy who brought it he laughed also, so he then proceeds to grab a shit ton of napkins and sets them 9 top of the frys and hands them to me I turn on my light and check the food and it's just frys with cheese on top and half the frys are smashed in the lid. Then I waited for him to reopen the window and he just stood there and pretended he didn't see or hear me. They also didn't give us straws or a Fork to eat the nasty frys with. This place sucks it used to be good. I got home and called the manager Jake and I told him and he just would say oh okay hmm with pauses and then silence at the end of the call. Having recently spent some time in Austin TX I am now a breakfast taco devotee so I was happy to discover that SnS was offering them. Went there this AM and, yikes!, those were some miserable excuses for breakfast tacos. Got one of each and none of them met even the barest standard of good food. They consisted of skillet warmed flour tortillas, one of which had a big chunk torn out of it, filled with a scant serving of the various fillings and by scant I mean maybe a couple of teaspoons each. So basically they were egg/potato/sausage flavored tortillas. Don't know if they're this crappy at all SnSs, I suspect not and here's why. It felt like I did something to piss of the youngish guy who prepared them but since I'd just walked in and got these to go it's probably that he was either really bad at his job (in both food prep and customer service) and/or working through a nasty hangover. In short, really crappy food dished out with really crappy customer service made for an unpleasant Sunday morning. This should be a one-star review but the second star is for the pleasant girl at the register and that they sell bags of ice at a good price.
