We have now been setting here for 35 minutes and we've only seen our waitress 1 time. I have already asked to talk to the manager twice and haven't seen one yet. It took 25 minutes for someone to come take our order, meanwhile all the groups that came in with us are already finishing up there food and getting ready to leave. When we walked in, all the people working were either just leaning on the counter or sitting on the bar and talking to each other. Then, after waiting up front for a good minute, they finally acknowledged us and our server, Ondraya (still leaning on the counter), told us to pick up a menu and just sit anywhere which I thought was odd cause normally, they escort you to a seat. Not even a moment has passed and we were asked what we wanted to eat. They were obviously rushing us. OKAY, right when we walk in we waited 7 minutes to get seated, 2 waitresses were sitting in front of us talking to each other and eyeballed us the whole 7 minutes and gave us dirty looks, ( Danielle )and (Partisha - or something like that.) i had to yell at them to get their attention! and i quote " ummm excuse me is anybody going to seat us", they look at us again with dirtiness and still didn't get up to seat us. instead one of the other workers did. the worker who bought us in even ask Danielle if she was on break and she said no." this is by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever encountered. I hope if the manager of S&S sees this they'll fire Danielle and the worst of both Partisha. Our waitress was very nice, however, they were out of bacon, tomatoes, portobellos, Oreos, s'mores, Nutella, and cookie dough. Very disappointed with the management for not ordering correctly. The waitress even made a comment that this happens every Monday. I will probably not be coming back to this location, definitely not on Mondays. read more

I used to think Steak & Shake got a bad wrap but these negative reviews are right. This location needs to clean house or close down. I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time for food, However give me what i pay for. If you are too lazy to make a shake correctly don't work there. When you come in Steak n Shake they are supposed to seat you! After waiting and waiting I say myself! Even after making eye contact I still waited without them saying nothing to me! Another 13 minutes later I get a menu. I can understand if they were busy but they were not! After apologizing for the long wait the server takes my order. The food comes out the fries are cold and the order is wrong! I give it back to the server and the order is fixed halfway! I ordered my burger with sourdough bread I get regular toasted bread! Poor service in drive thru... Had to wait 20 minutes for 3 milk shakes (yes I timed them). Was never told there would be a long wait for shakes. Lady only laughed when I complained about the wait and told me they were only allowed 6 spin machines, not sure what that had to do with me...On top of the wait, the shakes were so thin the cherries had sank to the bottom. Haven't been to a Steak 'n Shake in years but decided to give it a go today. Was very disappointed when I got back to my office to find that I didn't get the burger I ordered. So I paid extra for a specialty burger and got a plain burger, and had to pay extra for the smallest amount of back I've ever seen. read more

We went to Steak and Shake on US 1. We love the food from Steak and shake especially in Saint Augustine fl where is always best than this store. On every visit, there is always full of dirt plate and cup in dish station that is disgusting and show us they are lazy. On last visit, I just need to use rest room and notice how messy it is. I have two pitcure and show you how disgusting it is, look like it havent been clean for at least 4 hours. I can imagine how lazy employee you got. Yes, we are pretty disappoint about this. I love Steak and Shake, I have dined at several of them, but this location seems to be the cleanest and the food is more fresh than other locations. Very professional and courteous service. I live closer to other Steak and Shake locations, but I will travel to this location when I have the craving. read more

After waiting 10 minutes to be seated, I should have known it would be a bad visit AGAIN. We were left at a bare yet dirty table and one menu for 3 people. "I gotta get some other menus" the female who seated us (with no name tag btw) stated and walked away. I did not see her again. We watched over the next 30 minutes three additional parties came in, were promptly seated, and drinks ordered/delivered. One even had shakes. All the waitstaff made eye contact but none of them ever acknowledged us past that. I even tried to get them to come over, not knowing who our waitress/waiter would be. Finally, we got up to leave after the half an hour passed from being seated and then a female smelling, no, REEKING of cigarettes run over to us and said "can I get your drinks?" We informed her about our wait and she said "well, I didn't seat you so this ain't my problem." and walked away. We proceeded to just leave. Can't believe it. Wish I could do negative stars!!
