I have started to come back to the establishment and noticed that the drive-thru employees are a whole lot better. They have been very nice on the speaker and at the drive-thru window. Being a fan of this fast food joint, my roommate and I stopped by prior to shopping. With the current shortage in the service industry, you now place your order via touchscreen computer. We placed our order for a couple of double cheeseburgers and fries with a banana milkshake. Staff is readily available if you do require assistance. We chose a seat at a booth while we awaited our food. Our food was brought out within 10minutes and looked heavenly. If you've never had the milkshakes at steak and shake, you need to give it a shot. A night out while my cousins were in town. This location and place sends me back to a time when it was Sunday brunch and this was the place to go for burgers and a shake! the service was slow given they only had TWO servers and the place was packed. The drive thru continuously had cars going in and out so it took quite a while for our food to come out. But with the right people and the right conversation the time can pass quickly. The food was as I remembered, good and cheap! Every time I come here I get the Jalapeño Crunch Steak Burger and whatever Shake I am in the mood for! The food came out warm and the shakes were sitting for a while before they were brought out because the whipped cream on top were melted and flat. That's okay and we were understanding knowing how busy it was and how low on servers they were. I am giving this place a 3 star because of the slow service but the food is good for the price you are paying. My family and I had a great time talking and just catching up. Dude, you have to grade Stake 'n Shake against other Steak 'n Shakes or restaurants like it. This is like going to a George Lucas movie and being twisted because Spielberg does it better. I usually get a burger and onion rings (their fries are a bit of hassle for me) and if I am lucky I get a shake. I enjoy their burgers a lot because they come out hot and fresh. Pet peeve: I cannot stand when servers call you pet names. Babe, baby, sweetie...I find it super annoying and I was referred to as all of the above by my server. But sometimes, you just need a chocolate strawberry shake so you are willing to put up with the stuff you find irritating. This location seems to always be busy. Steak 'n Shake was a last minute stand-in for what he really wanted. But by the time we finally got to a place that was open and had a menu we agreed on, I also wanted something to snack on. He got a milkshake that he was very happy with. I got a cookie dough milkshake. I was a bit disappointed. It was freeze dried cookie dough made in to a powder. It wasn't my favorite. I think I was expecting something a little more like a cookie dough blizzard....with actual bits of cookie dough. Overall, it was fine and it got the job done. I stole a credit card from my very own father and DoorDashed a cotton candy shake to my friends house. I went through hell and back to door dash this shake. I got the shake with no whip cream or cherry. The shake arrived the house and come to find out upon opening the shake the shake was not colored. We did not have to wait to be seated. We did have to ask for the seasonal menu, that includes the $4 meals. That's a huge value. It includes bacon steak burger or double steak burger, fries and a side. Chili, cottage cheese, soup, etc. and also includes a cookie! Great to take home to the kiddos. We did have to ask for our cookies and check. This was what it needed to be fast and cheap. We were in and out in 40 minutes and under $8. One note the floors are filthy. I'm bumping my review up one star. My last visit was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was extra nice, nicer and more attentive than any other Steak 'n Shake and the food came out blazing fast. The food tasted the same and for the most part didn't seem any different but I feel like this establishment is trying harder to get better service in there and it's paying off!! Our visit today was fantastic and huge props to the staff. I would give this place zero stars if I could. During the Christmas season I am obsessed with a particular shake, the white chocolate, and order a few over the month of December. My dad, brother, and I came here for three of them one night. The drive through was long so we decided to go inside. Well, let's just say we were in there for a bit over 30 minutes waiting on 3 shakes to go. They weren't even that busy either. We spoke to a manager and left our information so they could send us a gift card for the trouble. And they did. For five dollars. That isn't even enough for one shake lol. Oh come on. Usually it is blocked off by their portable trash can, but as you can see they upgraded to cones. Ah, good ole Steak 'n Shake. It's always there for you when you want an old school burger, fries, and milkshake combo. It's also there for you when you're drunk as hell at 3am and have to eat or you'll die. There are good things and bad things about this place. The good things are that the food is cheap and they are always updating the milkshake menu and adding new flavors. There is a $4 menu which actually has some decent choices, so it's really easy to eat for less than $10. Also, kids eat free on the weekends (one kids' meal with every $9 spent). The bad things are that the service usually sucks. The staff generally consists of teenagers needing some quick cash or older people who have a living to make. I'm not a fan of the service, but having used to work there as a server, I do sympathize with them, so I try to tip them accordingly. Another bad thing is that the bathroom is usually pretty gross. It's not a bad place to eat, but I can understand why some people don't like it. You'd better believe that I'll continue to go there when I want a good burger and milkshake. read more

Stean N Shake has a special place in my heart. It was always our go to after high school parties, when my band played a show, and after certain sporting events. However, through the years (at several locations) I have seen a steady decline in quality and service. My last experience at this Steak N Shake left so much to be desired that I had to take to Yelp. My wife and I met up with several old friends from out of town around midnight and were promptly seated. We placed our drink orders and they arrived without incident. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience ended. Milk shakes took maybe 15 minutes and were incorrect. Several orders were wrong. When the waitress brought back my correct order it was cold. I don't comprehend having to wait 30 minutes for a "cooked to order" burger and it being cold when I can go to McDonalds to get a burger that's been sitting for God knows how long and it be hot. Steak N Shake is trying to separate themselves from the typical fast food joints by offering table service, real plates and utensils. My experience didn't even live up to that. read more

Sometimes they don't have many people working at once so depending on the visit it may take a long time to get your food but comparing this with how cheap it is for what you get, I definitely think it's worth it. I don't typically give bad reviews, but this place earned one. My other half and I were in the mood for Steak and Shake for a late night dinner. After being turned away from the one in the Highlands (they were closing at 10), we went to this one as it was close to our home. This would have been about 10 PM on April 20, 2017. When we walked in, we waited maybe a good 5-10 minutes to be seated, then it went from bad to worse. We were seated and the server took our drink order and we waited. She said, "we have to wait for the tea to finish brewing". No problem... other than it took another 15 minutes to get tea and water. Before that, she asked to take our order as soon as we sat down, and we were not ready, it took her another 20 minutes to get back to us, then to deliver our drinks after that. We overheard her telling one table, "Please don't order shakes because they take a lot of time". We overheard in the server ally from one of the servers to another server, "We are understaffed today... manager let five servers go home at 10... whine, whine, weep, wail and sob!"
