12/16/13...at 2 pm went thru drivethru and ordered a triple hamburger meal with a large cherry coke. The coke was flat and didnt have enough cherry syrup. The sandwich was very greasy and needed seasoned. For some reason none of my hamburger patties were formed...they were crumbly. FF's were good for the time of day it was. Ok, I took away a star to make this restaurant a one star. Why? As per my visit Oct. 28th I gave it two stars. On that day I brought home a chilli Mac which I love. I ordered it with extra meat and paid for it. This morning I ate it for lunch, I think that they put on even less meat than a regular order! What is wrong here? This is the worst Steak n Shake I've ever been to. My mom and I went on Easter Sunday at 1 pm. They weren't busy at all, with only 6 or 7 tables when we walked in. We stood waiting to be seated for probably 5 min.. Finally got seated and ordered our food. After a half hour, we still hadn't had our food and people were starting to come in but I thought for sure our food would be coming anytime. We ordered a regular burger and chili 3 ways, so being diabetic I needed to take a shot before I ate. I figured I would be safe to take a shot. Nope, after 15 more minutes and no one even acknowledging us....we got up and left. I barely made it to the other restaurant. Problem was some people that came in a half hour after we were there was getting food and half the workers were doing nothing! Not even what looked like the manager. I've had several, not good experiences at this location. I have to say the food is up to par as far as what you should expect at Steak 'n Shake. But the service is not how it should be. They are slow, take their time getting to you, and seem to not be that enthusiastic about their job. If you visit this location I would make time before, because you usually are waiting on something. read more

I am a Steak 'n Shake fan and with new corporate direction, it's fairly affordable again. This is one of many SNS in the area but the first you come upon traveling from the north. While I have not some of the terrible experiences others shared, I would agree that it is the least of the SNS in the area. This visit, the server was very friendly and the food was fast, fresh and very good. It is still fairly clear that the place is not quite on the level of some of the best of these types of stores. read more

I am only giving 1 star because I can't figure out how to give 0. We stopped at this store because it was near our motel and we were tired and hungry. We walked in and were not immediately greeted. When we were the young man asked if we minded sitting "in the back". He then asked us to wait while he checked if it was clean. I saw him take a broom and sweep trash from underneath. We were seated for about 15 minutes without a server coming over but others who came in later were being served. My boyfriend got up and asked a server if she was aware we had not ordered. She gave a gruff apology and proceeded to argue with the young man who seated us. Just as we were getting up to leave the girl came over to take our order. By now we had noticed all the trash in the floor all over the restaurant and we asked to speak to a manager. When she finally arrived we voiced our concerns and she argued with us. She stood on piles of napkins and receipts while speaking to us but still declared her kitchen was clean. On the way out we saw trash in the bins that held extra flatware, crackers and other condiments! We will be reporting this to Steak n Shake headquarters. read more

I use this store the majority out of every town nearby. During this fall season of 2019, the employees always say "we don't have the correct supplies we need to make the shake," being the Carmel apple milkshake that is seasonal. Also, the employees say that the truck doesn't come until this day, or this day. I follow up to the day they state they have the truck, but yet the date is apparently pushed back to another date or "the truck isn't unloaded yet." On top of the store not unloading their trucks time appropriately, the service is very bad. They see tables come into the store, look at them, and then avoid them at all cost. I have sat for 20 minutes in the store before even being approached by a waitress or waiter. Following actually being noticed, our drink order had been taken, and we had to sit for 25 minutes for a couple waters and sodas. I am VERY disappointed in the customer service and the lack of doing the job they were hired to do. read more

THE WORST STEAK n SHAKE I have ever visited. We used to be fairly frequent guests but the experience has declined to were we no longer go there. The service is atrocious. It often takes away to get seated if you come in a group of five or more but once you get seated it can b a great place to hang out with friends and have a good time.
