Absolutely HORRIBLE restaurant. Food was not good and service was even worse. I ordered a patty melt feeling like a delicious buttery crispy rye. It came on bread that was not even grilled. They may have stuck it on the grill but it was soft, not toasty or crispy as a party melt should be. The fries were way underdone. The service was not good either. Kristy was slow, not attentive, didn't ask if everything was ok, if we needed anything, or to refill our drinks. I had to yell across the restaurant after several minutes of waiting just to ask for the check. She then dropped it at the table without even looking at us or asking anything or even saying thank you. There was only 1 other table of people there which came in after us. When she dropped off our check the gentleman at that table said to her there was a spot on the table that was dirty/sticky, she said oh I know I've been trying to get it clean all day. Didn't even offer to move them to any of the other empty tables or even apologize for the issue. A really poorly run establishment. Would never recommend this location or Steak 'N Shake to anyone based on this experience. You can get better food and service anywhere else. read more

Bunch of naysayers. Hey, they probably have a valid reason. I have not eaten at a Steak 'n Shake since 2010 while in Florida. "But there is one on every corner here!" you might say or you might not. I'm not telling you what to say. I almost ate here a couple of weeks ago, but it has been so long, I had forgotten it was table service with a wait staff - "I ain't got time for this!" Also forgot they had a drive-thru - line around the building - "I ain't got time for this!" So I left and went to Cori's Doghouse across the street. Fast forward a couple weeks - wait - rewind a couple days - not sure I want to eat there three days from now. Lunch time, close by, drive-thru empty, stomach growling, low on money so I pull up to the speaker. Two for $3 deals so I go for a butter burger and an All-American. Butter burger has cheese, sauteed onions and a sauce I think. All-American had mustard, ketchup (or did it have catsup?), pickles, raw onions. It was good, but I wish I had gotten two butter burgers because they were better burgers because of the butter, but beware because b-words become bountiful. No fries - just burgers and I had a coke in the truck.Quick lunch, good flavor and they were recently cooked. We just went here on Saturday evening after Black Friday. It was VERY BUSY!! Before ordering, the lady in charge let us know there were only 3 employees and 2 were new. She asked us to please be patient and she would get back to us to take our order. This is the 1st time I ever remember having a fast food employee communicate an issue to me that may inhibit my experience! Very impressive! It is so much easier to be patient when you understand there is a valid reason. I overheard her telling the 2 new employees that they were doing a great job and to take 1 order at a time. I always try and keep my reviews positive regardless of how good or bad they may be, and this goes especially for places that have several bad reviews. I try and look at those reviews to get an idea of where the "reviewer" stood on things, and maybe try to find the reasoning behind the bad review, such as having a bad day.. I've eaten at Steak n Shake for many many years, and while I don't do it as often as I used to, a occasional craving for a steak burger kicks in that needs to be satisfied. However we chose this location since we were on our way home, and we were both starving. we waited quite a bit before being seated, and even after that and having 3 servers become aware of us, still waited a little too long to even be greeted and to have at the very least our drink orders. the 2 servers were "discussing" who was going to wait on us since it was obvious that one of them was leaving very soon. we finally got to meet our server, placed both our drink and food orders with him, and then waited.. considering the amount of people that were currently in the restaurant at the time, there really wasn't any reason for the food to be taking so long, and for the first time in quite a while, I found myself working my way to a very dissatisfying experience altogether. once the food did arrive, there was no apology or and kind of reach out to make things up for taking so long with the order, and we both sensed that she really didn't care about our needs and was not very attentive to our needs. I would like to say that I figured our server was having a bad day, but judging by the lot of visible reviews of this location here on yelp, are pretty much all pointing to the same exact problems. this was a one time shot for us, we stopped here on the way home, so there really is no point in not telling others to check it out and come to their own conclusions, please feel free to do so, I just know I won't be back to this location anytime soon.... read more

Not a great experience. The waitress looked at us when we sat down and walked off. We did get our food quickly, but she gave everyone the wrong food. My burger had like an entire bottle of mustard on it and the fries were limp and soggy. My son and husband both had soggy buns - eww! My son did love his milkshake. I'll make this short and to the point. Went in last night to have desert with my lady and THE most annoying server I've ever met seated us at a table. He would not stop babbling and acting like a fool the entire 40 minutes we were there. He brought us waters and my wife had a dead fly in hers. I waited 10 minutes for him to come back before I could tell him about it, to which he replied, "Ohp, sorry!" When we got our desserts, they were a melted mess. This is the absolute worst Steak n Shake I have ever been to. Im the moron who thought "eh, maybe the first three times were an anomaly." I WAS WRONG!!!! Where to begin... 1. First time we ordered two milkshakes. There was one car I'm front of us. They only received milkshakes. Took 19 minutes. Second time (tonight). There were two tables sat and one car at the window. When I pulled up to order I was told they be right with me. Eleven minutes later I pulled around the building and there was no one at the window any longer. Pulled back up to the speaker and was told, we will be right with you. Four minutes later I left. The law of averages has spoken and its evident that the bad reviews are not outliers. Went for a bowel of Chili for the first time. Poor service even though I sat at the counter. The store was filthy dirty. The chili wasn't worthy of dog food. HORRIBLE SERVICE CONTINUES!!! We live near this store and it has the worst service and it has been this way for a long time. We were told there was new management so we got our hopes up. Silly us...things remain horrible. The last two visits were horrible. We had a date night and stiopped there on our way home to grab a bite....sat there for quite some time listening to the cook berate the manager. When you walk in the arguing starts with the person sitting you asking the waiteress in that is working and the only on that is on the floor where to seat you and she states she doesn't care. By the way her name was Angie and the person that seated me and my sister was Rose. After Rose seated us a couple of men came in and Angie seated them all the while Rose was loudly asking Angie was she going to wait on us because we were in her section. Angie ignored her than finally said for Rose to wait on us. The men that came in after us got waited on with silverware and ordered before it was even settle who would wait on us. Right when we decided to leave Rose came and waited on us. Right after we got our order from Rose and group of people came in (4) adults Angie seated them and waited on them. They were seated behind us. Then right when we were finishing up a couple came in Angie seated them and came back to get there order but they weren't ready and they were also in her section. I felt like she had some kind of problem with my sister and I. When we went to pay the shift manager didn't even asked how was the meal just stated the bill amount. If he would of asked I would of told him in no uncertain terms how I was made to feel by Angie and him because he walk passed us twice and looked at us like we were bothering him.
