My arm is in a sling due to a recent shoulder surgery. I love Steak'n Shake so we stopped by there this afternoon. I wasn't sure how it would be to eat my burger with one hand. Teresa our waitress went to the back and got gloves and a knife and cut my burger into small pieces that I could eat with a fork. Such extreme kindness and superb customer service! You have to order on a kiosk. I ordered a single steakburger combo that clearly showed burger, fries and drink and a cup of chili also. When i got my food, there were no fries. The kid told me I replaced my fries with chili. I told him "No, YOU replaced my fries with chili". I won't be back. They need to rehire their waitresses to take our orders! read more

The Reese's Chocolate milkshake is delicious. The strawberry milk shake was a little weak in flavor. The fries were a generous portion and yummy. When the seasoning was out, the lady begging the counter was friendly and refilled it. The dining room is clean. The ladies bathroom was not very clean. The app is very easy to use. read more

Dont waste your money on mediocre food. I ordered the chicken fingers with fries. The fries were small, smaller than McDonalds fries, and had no salt or seasoning to be seen. The Chicken fingers were ok but they could've used more breading. The food isn't what gets this restaurant 2 stars, it was the cleanliness. It was gross! The server didn't clean the table or chairs with anything, she just wiped it off with her hands. The floor looked like it hadn't been mopped, and there was trash and food underneath our table. Drive thru service is great! Food was hot and they got everything right. They have great milkshakes!

The only good thing at this restaurant is that the waiters and servers were spot on. Me and my friend ordered the double cheeseburger meal and it was so bland with no seasoning whatsoever. The tomatoes were green and tough. The fries had no salt or seasonings either. The $5 baggy meal at Wendy's is so much better than this sorry meal we were served at Steak and Shake. This place sucks.... ordered through drive thru 1st off the girl taking the order was rude over the microphone as we get to the window she was even more rude. No smile just ask for the money. At least she gave as ketchup as we asked but as we get to our hotel the fries was cold the hotdog was dry the ice tea was warm and there was no napkins inside the bag. It sucks as I've had better service elsewhere and everyone else we've encountered in Georgia has been such nice people and had great service. read more

We went through the drive thru and said that we had 3 separate orders, the drive thru said we had to come inside to order a takeout order. When we came inside to order we were told that they had already closed out the register, so we had to go back through the drive thru. The young lady that was mopping the floor and the manager was very rude. We were waved at very rudely as we walked out the door to get back into our car to go back through the drive thru. All we wanted to do was order some milkshakes and leave but we couldn't even do that. The website says they close at 10 and we arrived at 9:45. Let me start off by saying that I am Asian and all of the white people stated at us when we walked in. This is probably the worst service ever. First of all, the person who sat us didn't greet us or even tell us to wait. We were standing at the front for 5 minutes clueless. Then when she finally sat us the table was super dirty and looked like she didn't even clean it. Then we sat at our table for 10 min without anyone taking our drink/food order. Fast service at around when it starts to get busy (5-6:00) great food. Even though u had a bad experience when the manager was trying to blame my special needs son for messing the bathroom (When I was with him) and literally stood at our table blocking me and my 6 year old in the booth. I know their busy, I know.. but they employ way too many young kids to keep quality up. I've received COLD kids meal burgers, plain milkshakes when specialty is ordered and paid for, not full bags of fries and no ice in my drinks. It wasn't even dinner rush so I can't imagine what goes wrong when they are really under pressure. I've given them too many tries because it's always something. Quality is way down and I no longer feel like seeing if today they got it together. They used to be great, the line would be to the road and now you can basically drive up and not wait most days. read more

This joint is just awesome they are open 24/7 so when I come out of work at midnight and I feel hungry I know my spot and that is Steak n Shake in Rome. The shakes are bomb I specially enjoy the Butterfinger Shake. I usually order the double cheeseburger with fries. Never had a bad burger at one of these joints. But this time there was no burger. No anything. Seated at table and 15 mins later no service. I can understand if they were busy but there were 5 small tables 1-3 at each. The bad part was two of these tables were seated after us and already had drinks and order taken. Late night on a Sunday night the server, Hannah was the only one in the entire place and it was fairly busy. She sill kept the dinning area covered as well as i ever saw with a full staff. I love their food, don't get me wrong and it's a must visit when we visit from Maine. That being said, when you have over twenty employees on the floor not during the lunch rush and it takes almost fifteen minutes for a table, another almost fifteen to be greeted by a waitress in a bad mood and then after waiting and getting your food, wait another almost twenty and still no sign of your waitress. It might be a good time to look into some new employees or maybe even better management. read more
